We were pleased working with Paris Attitude. The apartment appears perfect. Paying with a credit card is very nice. The 24 hour turn around is very stressful. First it starts on Paris time which is 4AM in US. Trying to set up airfares in that time is difficult. I actually lost my place and then fortunately the apartment was still up once we got the airplanes so we could get it. A 48 hour cancellation, like some other companies give would be terrific and take all this pressure off. Other than that it was very nice. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE DO NOT RENT WITH PARIS ATTITUDE! THEY WILL STEAL THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS FROM YOU. rented with this joke of a company and they charged $5000+ in agency fees, and then another $6000 in security deposit which was "promised" to be refunded in full as long as nothing is broken, in which case they would refund a portion of it after deductions. we left our apartment in PERFECT condition, with photo proof. our landlord barged into the apartment at 11pm 3 nights before move out unannounced, illegal. she then started yelling at us about the state of the apartment, where we were very confused because it was exactly the way it looked when we arrived. after we moved out our landlord sent horribly rude texts and then ghosted us, and you would think paris attitude would put their agency fees to use and help us out, but they completely ghosted us too. we tried emailing and calling SEVERAL times and nothing. It has now been two months since we moved out and we are completely robbed of $10,000. Don't make the same mistake, save money and rent with Airbnb which is an actual reputable and trustworthy company compared to this con artist "company". read more

I found the Paris Attitude website very easy to use. By using the multiple filters for finding the features I wanted I was able to find an excellent apartment for my needs. I liked being able to see lots of pictures for each apartment that interested me. There was a large number of apartments to choose from. I'm very satisfied with the services provide by Paris Attitude. I'm mildly disappointed in the place I chose but I wanted to be near Montparnasse and, unfortunately the place I chose is under a massive remodeling. My apartment, however, is nice although, as is not uncommon in these situations you'd hope there were more of the essentials provided that I discovered. Hard to know from the photos just what's there and what isn't. Still great location and I can work with what I've got. This is one of these situations where a third party puts an apartment on Paris Attitude and it's with that third party that you need to work things out. Again, however, I can recommend highly Paris Attitude and especially my agent Neda Guivarch, maybe just e a little more careful with third parties they rent for. I'm only here a few days (the beginning of four months) and I'm a bit disappointed in ParisCommeChezSoi so far. Maybe that will improve, though, as we move along. All in all, pleased. read more

The scam part is that their welcome marketing is helpful and leads you to believe that they'll be your advocate while you stay in Paris. Unfortunately, you only find out that they couldn't care less after something goes wrong. I at least got part of my security deposit back, so I'll count that as a win. Now that Paris is opening back up for tourists, just SAY NO to Paris Attitude. It is not worth the pain. Their Business model is based on how to "legally" scam foreigners using the intricate and confusing rental laws of France to their advantage. Paris Attitude is an agency that ONLY works in favour of the Property Owners/Proprietaires and not the tenants. It is a business relationship between the Proprietaires and this "agency", the tenant is just the meat. At first glance, it is very promising, considering how difficult it is to rent property in Paris for foreigners and locals alike; however, it is all a facade with this "agency" and I would strongly encourage you to stay away. At the beginning the process was very easy and my agent was fast and helpful. The problems start once you sign the contract and are left on your own to deal with hungry landlords. If you would like to know more, feel free to read ahead. If you would like a brief summary, the answer is NO, DO NOT RENT WITH PARIS ATTITUDE. Here are some red flags: 1- They provided a contract in English and in French. The French one happened to have a few extra clauses that were conveniently left out of the English contract regarding taxes. Property Taxes: Only in the French version does it say that the tenant is responsible to pay for property taxes even if this is not your residence! I left the apartment at the end of February and completed a perfect "etat de lieu" or exit inventory where everything was deemed to be in good condition, no damages at all and therefore no reason to keep the security deposit. I am writing this nearly at the end of June and I still have not received my security deposit back. I have received zero help from Paris Attitude in dealing with this situation. No explanation, no clarity. Months after leaving the apartment in perfect condition, I am still waiting for my security deposit. The landlord claims that I have to pay for property taxes and utilities and says that those will be taken out of my deposit. The problem is that there is NO evidence whatsoever about the amounts that they want to take out. No official documentation, no proof. Once again, Paris Attitude has done nothing to help me deal with this unfortunate situation. My security deposit was 1,325 eu and the landlord wants to give me 213 eu back. WHAT! This is an apartment that was rented for 3 months and left in perfect state, clean and well taken care of. Since they cater specifically to foreigners, their business model works perfectly because they know that the tenants will go back to their countries and won't have much of a fighting chance to win back their Deposit. I guess the model is for tenants to just give up. 2- This is not a real Agency. Why? Because a real agency works for its tenants. When you pay an agency fee it is because you are paying for a SERVICE. For example: when something goes wrong, when there is a communication breakdown between tenants and proprietaires, when there is confusion with a contract, when there are disagreements between landlords etc.... You would expect the Agency that you paid, the Agency that you "hired", to step in and help you with these issues. This is NOT the case with Paris Attitude. They will ignore you or reply with very vague, scripted answers. They will refer you back to the Proprietaire, back and forth like a ping pong ball until you quit or die. They are not here to help you. They are here to make money, confuse you and keep running this unethical business. Their only role is to get you to sign the contract. After that you are on your own buddy! Good luck trying to get your security deposit back. Please notice that most of the "good reviews" are from landlords or new tenants that are still renting and have not had to deal with checking out and getting their deposit back. Still, on the side of the agency, they are not very good at communication, and with that, it is hard to get a hold of someone if you have a question, as well as not being able to respond promptly. Absolutely terrible. Initially, I thought this company looked out for the best interest of their customers. As an exchange student coming from the U.S., you don't have a lot of power since you don't have guarantors, credit history, and other documents to help you secure housing and have rights as a tenant. I thought Paris Attitude would step in and be that layer of security. Turns out the landlords they work with are completely unethical. Our landlord took our deposit and took out some costs associated with our electricity, but there was NO TRANSPARENCY as to what electricity we used and other random cleaning and "replacing the lock" costs were. As a student from the U.S., I have no rights whatsoever so the costs the landlord incurred are totally at his discretion. I thought the negative reviews might be due to the difference in cultures so that may have led to miscommunication or misunderstandings between tenants and Paris Attitude. I took the risk anyway and 100% regret that decision. Paris Attitude does not look out for the best interest of their customers. read more

Wow ... I was so nervous about renting an apartment from them based on the reviews from multiple sites... I booked a trip to Paris last minute and was scrambling to find an appropriate place to stay (wanted the Latin quarter) for a reasonable amount of money for the week. Every site that I went to (other than Paris Attitude) didn't have the selection of apartments available (especially for my price point) that Paris Attitude had. Let me address a couple of complaints that I've read on the internet. 1. Their fees are too high. Response - yes they are BUT (and its a big but) there fees are calculated in the price of the rental which I found the overall cost of the rental (what I paid versus what I would have paid at comparable sites) to be very reasonable to downright a great deal. 2. They take your money upfront and then you have to work with the owner. Response - Yes again. That said, one of the questions you should ask Paris Attitude is if there has been any complaints with respect to the apartment or owner of said apartment. 3. It's scary because you basically pay the whole amount upfront. Response - you pay the 20-30% fee to Paris Attitude and then 50% deposit to the owner. This is typically how its done via VRBO (except you don't have the Paris Attitude fee). I second Joanna Z's comments dated 9/7/12. My comments about my apartment were as follows. It was a great apartment at a great location and price. I could not have been happier with what I paid or the check in or check out procedures. That said, it takes 10-30 minutes each time because you are verifying that everything is in order when you get there and leave. Other than that bit of time...everything was wonderful. read more

Firstly, I had to contact them 3 times over the course of a month and a half to get a response. Finally, when someone DID respond, I would choose an apartment she said was available immediately and voila, she wouldn't answer for days only to let me know the apartment was now unavailable. LADY. We had the most terrible experience with this company. I will never rent through them again. When we arrived the person who was supposed to meet us was an hour and a half late. The apartment had a broken window (it would not shut), the heat was not working, the wifi was not working and the freezer was not working. It was November so the window and the heat were pretty big deals... The window took 3 days to fix and the heat never did completely work right, but did work a bit better after 2 weeks of a 5 week rental. The freezer did not work until the last week. It gets better. Our washing machine started leaking into the apartment below us two days later when that was "fixed" the shower started leaking. The neighbors were threatening us every morning and the rental agency was no help at all. They took their time in fixing the issue. Every time someone would come to the apartment to "fix" a problem they would complain the entire time as though WE were ruining their day. Meanwhile our vacation was being destroyed and the apartment we were paying thousands of dollars for was disgusting and we dreaded coming home to tiles pulled out in the bathroom, water all over the floor and windows left open in freezing weather for the bathroom to dry out, our own bath towels used to clean up plumbing messes and left wet and dirty with no replacements... The kitchen that was "fully stocked" was a joke. Tin pots and pans with knives whose handles fell off when you tried to use them. The cutting board was a 10" circle of dirty wood, the dishes were stained and gross, silverware was dirty and needed washed before we could use it.... With all of the trouble we went though, the repeated 7am threats from neighbors, not being able to shower or do laundry, having no heat, wifi, etc. for part of our stay we were offered NO kind of refund. It is rare that I have felt so taken advantage of. read more

We were heading to Paris for an extended trip and I found an apartment that appealed to us thru the Paris Attitude site. What a HUGE PITA they were. They basically run a website where most of the listings are not actually available because they can't be bothered to keep their calenders current. They ask what your needs are and tell you they will find 'similar' properties and get back to you. When they do the suggestions do not meet any of the parameters you have given them, location, price, amenities. They charge a large percentage of the rental as a management fee. The paperwork they send for the lease is unprofessional and confusing. Once they have their fee they are unhelpful and uncommunicative when you have questions. I have rented dozens of vacation apartments all over the world. Paris Attitude was one of the most difficult to deal with that I have experienced. At the end of the trip I could not tell you what I actually paid in total, because there had been so many different payments, deposits and fees all quoted in different currencies, and paid in assorted currencies. But I am pretty SURE that it came out in their favour. I would advise against dealing with Paris Attitude. The Paris attitude they have is not a pleasant one... read more

I emailed to ask if an apartment was available. They replied saying the owners wanted to use it that month, but if things changed they would let me know. I emailed from another address and the same apartment was available. Shady. I should have walked away. We had three people staying for one month, we were given 2 tiny pillows, one sheet set for the main bed, one blanket and no extra bedding. They would bring bath towels from the office that smelled so badly of cigarette smoke they needed to be washed before they could be used. The small kitchen appliances were either caked with goo or not functional (ie: no blades for the food processor). There were dirty dishes left in the cupboards that needed washed. There was a broken lamp sitting out and other broken decorative items stuck in the closet. I felt like the apartment wasn't inspected after the previous occupants had left. Simple things that should be in a short term rental were not there: Umbrella, shopping bags (they are not provided in Europe unless you pay for them), general instructions for the apartment/cable/internet etc. The three of us ended up supplementing all aspects of the apartment from our own pockets, small things for the kitchen to make it usable, bedding, canvas grocery saks, umbrellas, etc. To make matters worse, any time we would request assistance for something we would be treated like a burden (cable quit working, wifi went out, washing machine broke). Customer service is not a priority with this agency. read more

My husband and I recently moved to Paris. We've been living with relatives, and we are looking for short-term (~6 month) housing while we get settled. We tried using Paris Attitude to rent an apartment because the site was organized and professional looking, and they had a good variety of apartments... or so it seemed. We first inquired about a duplex, but it turned out it was already booked through November (even though it is still shown as available on the website). We asked about visiting another apartment, but they informed us they don't do apartment visits. We got the contract info for renting the 2nd apartment, but then we checked out the address and found out it was upstairs from a nightclub. (For those of you not in Paris I'd recommend using Google street view once you get an exact address so you can see exactly what you're signing up for in terms of neighborhood.) After that we we asked about 7 different apartments, each of which turned out to not actually be available. On the last one we were told it was available, and that the owner had agreed to rent to us. It wasn't until we were at the Paris Attitude office to arrange payment that we learned the owner had decided to rent it to someone else. One of the main problems with Paris Attitude is that most of the apartment owners are also listing their apartments on other rental sites. The staff at Paris Attitude actually has no idea which apartments are available at any given time, so for each potential renter they have to call the owner to check the calendar. The other HUGE problem is that they don't actually provide any service besides the apartment list. If there's a problem with the apartment it's up to the renter to fight it out with the owner, and you can't even know if there's a problem until after you've shelled out the deposit (which you don't get back if you change your mind about renting). The bottom line is that renting with Paris Attitude is a huge risk. You might get lucky and rent a great apartment from a great owner, or you might get completely screwed over. Either way Paris Attitude gets paid. I'd recommend going with airbnb.com, which still has a pretty good selection and protects both the renters and the property owners. read more

Stay away from them. I've had the worst experience possible. We arrived in Paris only to find out that the owner of the apartment we were supposed to live in refused to rent us the place on the grounds that it was my sister who placed the booking and not myself (we all live abroad and needed several places for accommodation so my sister organized everything). This left my wife, my 5 month old son and myself out on the street at noon on a weekend. Of course Paris Attitude doesn't have week-end customer support so we could not speak to anyone, let alone get a replacement apartment. Luckily for us we were able to find a last minute Airbnb (which we should have done in the first place). Avoid this business at all costs! read more

Hi guys, I'm about to go on a bit of a rant so apologies in advance. If you are short on time, then all you need to know is that I used Paris Attitude for a year whilst I was on exchange and I was shocked as to the level of incompetence demonstrated by what I assumed was a professional business. I'm not one to exaggerate and have never written a review. I think of myself to be pretty reasonable and understand misunderstandings and conflict can arise. However, there was no way I could rationalise the horrible experience I have had with this agency. Last year I was completing by exchange at Sciences Po in Paris and needed an apartment while I was there. I had never rented an apartment in Paris and so thought it would be safer to use a real-estate agency. After e-mailing them, it took weeks before anyone was able to contact me back. When they eventually did they seemed polite and helpful and did end up finding me an apartment. However on the day I moved in I was shocked to see how filthy it was; mildew in the shower, wet and mouldy towels left in a plastic bag unwashed, non-functioning lights and a leaking water heater that was dripping onto the floor and leaving behind a mouldy smell. I remember that I had to soak the shower walls in bleach and scrub it for an hour just to get the mouldy stains off. Within an hour of moving in I had sent the agency clear photos of the problems regarding the mould and water tank. I was anxious that I would be held responsible, but they assured me that this was the responsibility of the agency and the landlord and that the cost of a replacement and repairs would be their responsibility. I had done my research on their website and it seemed that I was in the right. Still, I wrote up an e-mail, detailing everything they had stated in the call and asking them them to confirm the details in case there were any issues later on, and they did. In addition, the agency assured me that they would be holding the deposit and so there would be no issues with returning it at the end of the lease. As a first time renter I was unsure about this but could find not find any information online to suggest otherwise. Eventually I decided to terminate the lease because of a number of issues regarding leaking pipes, size etc. I gave one month notice as required and left. Under french law the real-estate agency is obliged to return the deposit within 2 months. Of course I was still e-mailing them 3 months later following up on it. Eventually I was told the deposit would be returned, but with 150 euros subtracted for cleaning and 600 euros subtracted for the water heater. I was willing to accept the cleaning fee (even though I had spent the full day cleaning everything), but I found it odd that, although there had been no initial inspection taken when I first checked in to the apartment, when I was leaving they decided to conduct this rigorous 1-2 hour inspection, photographing every surface and item from multiple angles. Essentially, they were willing to protect the rights of the landlord to ensure the property remained in the right condition after tenancy, but took no such steps to ensure the initial condition of the apartment was fit for the tenant. With regards to the water heater, I was shocked that they were asking me to pay 600 euros. I know problems like this can arise and this is why I had double and triple confirmed with the agency that I would not be financially liable in any way. Each time I attempted to call the agency to resolve the issue, they would either ask me to call back, or would simply say that the person who was to deal with the issue was not in the office. I remember, by then end of it all, I had to call them 7 times in the one day, by the end of which I was in tears. Despite the receptionist promising to call me back that day there was no reply. It has since been 6 months and at this point I have e-mailed them numerous times, detailing the situation, and have still not received a single e-mail back. My recommendation is that you steer clear of this agency. There is no point hiring the services of an agency if they aren't going to care about protecting your rights or wasting your time. Please trust me and save yourself the disappointment, do NOT use this agency. read more

WARNING! THIS COMPANY WILL LITERALLY STEAL YOUR MONEY. WORST EXPERIENCE. I come here after having tried everything. I don't usually leave bad reviews, but then again, I do not usually receive this treatment. I have tried emails, phonecalls and nothing has changed; they owe me 300€, and after a month has passed since I left the apartment they have not given my money back. Since the beginning I had a really bad experience with the company: I reserved my apartment a month in advance and payed in full so there would not be any inconveniences up to my arrival. Well, two days, before I arrived they send me an email saying that staying in the apartment I rented and HAD a contract with will not be possible. They tell me they can't do nothing because it's the owners choice (and do nothing about having a contract signed), immediately I tried to look for solutions instead of them helping me get to a hotel, apartment or whatever. They sent me nothing, they basically said that they could do nothing unless I wanted to rent another apartment in their site. By looking on the web the apartments offered for the dates I needed were super expensive (01 JULY to 01 AUGUST, 2018) plain turistic season. I went to their website and chose 3 apartments that I liked for revision, (they have to check if it's available the information in the website is not refreshed). My advisor told that one was available but 4 days later after my arrival. My advisor (Mehdi), which was the most unhelpful person I have ever met, even told me to hurry up with my decision and quoting "You have 20 minutes to decide", this was on Friday and I was arriving on Sunday, he even said "hurry up I have a life" this was at 4p.m. in the afternoon. I had to stay in a hotel for 4 nights which cost me around 500€ and it was located in La Defense (it was the cheapest I could get), then I went to the apartment the 5th of July, they even asked me to make an additional payment because there was a change in rates of the apartment, even though it was their fault. The owner of my apartment (Référence # 11461) in the website, was very nice at first, then I never saw her again. If I had a problem with the apartment I could not even speak with her. When I left, she charged me for "services of the apartment" when I left and never gave an invoice for what she charged, she just kept the money. When I asked for the invoice she kept giving me excuses (which I have photos of). End of story I ended up paying the nights of the hotel 500€+, plus they haven't given my security deposit back (300€). I even payed a professional cleaning service (even though the apartment was very clean) when I left because I knew the owner would have done anything to not give my security deposit back (since no one complains and everyone let's it go) it's basically a business for them. BY NO MEANS RENT AN APARTMENT THROUGH THIS COMPANY. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. read more

I was looking for short term lease in a quick time and Paris Attitude seemed to have a few apartment that suited my need. I submitted my request and my agent Mihaela quickly contacted me regarding the apartment and documents that I needed to provide. As I had arrived in Paris and stayed in an Airbnb, so I requested the agent to arrange a visit of the apartment for me. Communication was efficient so I met the landlord and visited the flat. It was nice and exactly as the pictures showed, so I decided to rent the apartment. Had to use Paris Attitude for a long term study abroad rental after our illegal airbnb fell through. I was nervous with all of their reviews, but everything ended up totally fine. We shopped around many leasing agencies (lodgis) but Paris Attitude responded far more quickly than others as well as spoke to us on the phone which helped us immensely. Our landlord was fine, so after the lease was signed we didn't require anymore from them. I guess people's experiences are really circumstantial, but I'm the most anxious person I know and they worked well for me. read more
