We rented an apartment in Neuilly-sur-Seine with Paris Attitude from January to June 2017. We are a German student-couple, both 21 years old, and rented the studio for our exchange semester in Paris. Given the short stay in France, we assumed the agency offered the benefit of providing professional support in English in case of issues with the apartment, which unfortunately was not the case. We would like to mention right in the beginning, that we think most reviews shown here are fakes.
When receiving our contract, we learned that Paris Attitude subcontracted the role of the lessor to a smaller company called "Montfort et Bon". This epitomized an issue, as our new contact persons mostly insisted on communication solely in French, also the contract was in French only. We both studied French for five to six years and are basically able to deal with the most issues, however the technical vocabulary and the frequent debates with Montfort et Bon brought us to our limits.
After arrival, we were met by Mr Albet, who was assigned to hand over the flat - he came from a third subcontractor of Paris Attitude, a company called "EntréeSortie". Unfortunately, he damaged one of the two electric heaters in our flat, which left us without sufficient heating for our first three weeks in January. Even if the hand-over was done with a detailed protocol, Mr Albet was very stressed and did insist of rushing through the protocol. The result was a protocol that included furniture that did not exist in our flat, we tried to correct this with an e-mail sent within ten days which we agreed on with Mr Albet.
During our rental period, we had disputes with Montfort et Bon every month, regarding the above mentioned inoperable heaters in January, plumber-issues in February and March or our unusable washing machine during almost our whole last month. We will not outline every case in detail because the flat from an overall perspective was in a good condition, but when it comes to failures of electronical devices like the heating, the washing machine or issues with the drain, we think the tenants should be able to rely on their landlords, which was unfortunately not the case here.
Montfort et Bon instructed Mme Yolande Guez to be our contact person, we never met Mme Guez or talked to her apart from one single time in the beginning and one e-mail in the end. In most cases, we could contact her assistant, Mme Laura Bendavid. We must say, that talking to Mme Bendavid in every case meant a very inappropriate tone and indeed a very harsh behaviour - we refused to talk to her again after we were insulted on the telephone end of April. The most critical issues were cost for the attempt to repair the above mentioned electronical devices that we had to thrust out, and to a major extent did not get back. Additionally, we had cost arising from the defects in the flat, for example using the laundrette during our last month - Montfort et Bon several times rejected to reimburse any of those. Of course, we filed several complaints to our ParisAttitude, our contact person here was Mr David Diep, he never answered his phone or any of our e-mails.
The check-out was again managed by EntréeSortie and was very detailed but again stressed. In the end, Montfort et Bon charged us for the procurement of alleged missing objects. We took photos of all of those and are still waiting for the money to be transferred back to us, we will hand the case over to our lawyer within the next days.
To put it in a nutshell we were happy with our apartment but the availability and behaviour of Paris Attitude and its subcontractors is unacceptable and brought us to our personal limits during our stay, their retention of money is simply illegal. Therefore, we cannot recommend Paris Attitude.
