Hands down, the best one on one swim lessons! I had tried may different "franchise"/local swim…read moreschools and nothing seemed to help my girls learn. But I committed to the 10 week program this past fall and within the first week I knew this was going to be worth my time and money! Lauren and Krista are both amazing at what they do and not once did they let our girls give up. They do this because they are passionate about teaching kids how to swim and survive! I can't recommend them enough! I'm already looking forward to the short refreshers they offer closer to summer time! FYI the pools are heated and even if it's cold outside, the kids will not be freezing in the pools!

We relocated from San Francisco to San Diego and moved into a home with a pool, so making sure our kids were safe around water was one of my top priorities. I actually scheduled swim lessons for our daughter, Emmy, with Krista before we even moved here! Emmy started lessons when she was 2, continued again the next summer at 3, and this past summer our son Hayes joined in at just 1.5 years old. Krista has such a gift with young children -- she's patient (yet firm), calm, and knows exactly how to make them feel comfortable and confident in the water. We've seen incredible progress each summer. Both kids have not only learned essential water safety skills, but they also love being in the pool now. The peace of mind knowing my young children are safe around water is truly priceless, and it makes living in Southern California (and being around so much water) so much less stressful. Swim Synergy has been such a wonderful experience for our family, and we're already looking forward to lessons again next summer!

Where do I begin with Elly. She is unprofessional, scatter brained, unreliable, and cuts your…read moreswimming time short. When We first stated with Elly, she committed to teaching private swimming lessons for $45/hour at our pool. She did this 4 times and then said she couldn't do it anymore and we would have to come to her pool. This was strange because she advertises herself as a mobile swim coach that will come to you. Since we started with her, we decided to just go to her pool. You would think that her pricing would change since she was no longer coming to our pool and we were driving to her, but it didn't. We noticed that she was NEVER on time for our set swimming lesson. She was always 5-10 minute late to start the lesson, which become very frustrating. Mostly because she wouldn't give you the full 30 minutes you paid for. She'd cut the lesson short 5-10 minutes early to start her next lesson! When I asked her about this she become confrontational and defensive, as opposed to apologetic. I noticed she would engage in long conversations with other parents during the time I was paying her to teach my daughter! I honestly couldn't believe this. When someone pays you for a private lesson, you focus your time and attention to what they're paying you to do. Every lesson I noticed she would be talking to other parents for 5 minutes minimum during our swim lesson. I kept giving her another chance and trying to let it go since my daughter liked her. But at the end of the day, it was so professional and just NOT worth it. There are so many other swim instructors in San Diego, don't waste your time or money with this scatter brain.

Coach Jeff has a natural gift for working with children. He is incredibly patient, encouraging, and keeps the atmosphere light and enjoyable, even for the most beginning swimmers. My child (4), who has Autism, and initially had zero water safety skills, has developed both confidence and skill with Coach Jeff. He tailored each lesson to my son's individual needs and abilities through games, positive reinforcement, and breaking down basic skills into manageable steps. Coach Jeff made sure that be gained confidence and felt successful. He is highly professional and prioritizes safety. He has a great balance of fun and structure, which is so important when working with children in the water. Overall, I'm thrilled with the progress my son has made and would highly recommend Coach Jeff to any parent looking for a dedicated and talented swim instructor. We are lucky to have found him!!

So they had offered a "trial class"" - had an okay first class, but it was too basic for my children so we decided to not enroll and enroll in another local swim class. BEWARE - what they didn't tell you is that their trial classes cost the same as a class and they auto-register your child for recurrent classes (despite emailing them that we were not enrolling). My children are all in MULTIPLE activities across San Diego, and never once do people offer a trial class only to CHARGE you if you decline automatic enrollment. Very sneaky policy - will never recommend to anyone as "finding the right fit" for your child is definitely not their top priority.

The reason was price,…read morewhat started as $80 a month for one child, which I thought was expensive but tolerable, has recently morphed into $295. That's for 2 kids, so let's double the original $80 and account for inflation over 5 years.... I still don't manage to get anywhere near $295. That's ALOT of money just for a few 30 minute lessons. I also have to add that these lessons were rarely a full 30 minutes, mostly because of other kids in the class showing up late and then huge drama as they get in and fuss with their goggles, while my kid (who did show up on time) sits being ignored. Lessons would routinely not get going until 10 minutes in. The teachers and the pool staff were mostly great, but the value for money has disappeared. The staff who took my cancellation didn't even ask why, and the pool staff said we weren't the first. Maybe Covid is a justification but I doubt when things get back to normal the prices will return to 2019 levels - if they do I might consider returning, but for now we have taken our kids to a different school.
