This is during work hours, so I called and asked if I can reserve to play pickball either in the evening or on a weekend day because there is no open play on the weekend and they said no. Most recreations center have open play on the weekend so that people who work can also join in. I would appreciate a revision of the open play schedule or the option to reserve a time to play so that people who work a 9-5 can be active as well. This seems like it's catered to people who are retired or don't work a 9-5.

Miss Emma was so patient and caring, and always prioritized making my son feel comfortable and safe. She knew when to push him and modified lessons to match what he could handle. As a member, I shouldn't feel like I'm being met with confrontation when simply trying to use the club.

Membership rates continue to go up, and at this price point, I would expect responsive customer service to be a pivotal part of the club experience. If a longtime member is trying to add people to an account and can't even get a return phone call, something is seriously missing. Even when visiting the membership office in person, the atmosphere feels completely different than it used to. The employees often seem disengaged, almost as though they don't want to be there. I've enjoyed the Bay Club for many years, which makes this decline even more disappointing. What happened to customer service? Come on, Bay Club--get your act together.

So they had offered a "trial class"" - had an okay first class, but it was too basic for my children so we decided to not enroll and enroll in another local swim class. BEWARE - what they didn't tell you is that their trial classes cost the same as a class and they auto-register your child for recurrent classes (despite emailing them that we were not enrolling). My children are all in MULTIPLE activities across San Diego, and never once do people offer a trial class only to CHARGE you if you decline automatic enrollment. Very sneaky policy - will never recommend to anyone as "finding the right fit" for your child is definitely not their top priority.

That's for 2 kids, so let's double the original $80 and account for inflation over 5 years.... I still don't manage to get anywhere near $295. That's ALOT of money just for a few 30 minute lessons. I also have to add that these lessons were rarely a full 30 minutes, mostly because of other kids in the class showing up late and then huge drama as they get in and fuss with their goggles, while my kid (who did show up on time) sits being ignored. Lessons would routinely not get going until 10 minutes in. The teachers and the pool staff were mostly great, but the value for money has disappeared. The staff who took my cancellation didn't even ask why, and the pool staff said we weren't the first. Maybe Covid is a justification but I doubt when things get back to normal the prices will return to 2019 levels - if they do I might consider returning, but for now we have taken our kids to a different school.

He was incredibly patient with the boys (even when they were endlessly splashing him) nand really knew how to engage them and keep them comfortable while learning. He was also really funny, and the kids absolutely loved him and looked forward to their swim lessons! He made the lessons fun while still teaching them a lot. With our 6 year old, he helped her build on the skills she already had, refine her technique, and learn new strokes. He did a great job adjusting the lessons to each child's age and ability. Diego was also always on time, easy to communicate with, and great about answering all of our questions. We always felt like we knew how the kids were doing and what they were working on. The kids made huge progress and really took leaps and bounds with their swimming in just six lessons. We were so impressed with how much they improved and how much more confident they became in the water. Diego was patient, encouraging, knowledgeable, and genuinely great with the kids. We couldn't have been happier with the experience and would absolutely recommend him!

I was fed up and wanted them to actually learn this skill, so we did a month long intensive with Maria with them each having back to back private lessons for three days a week for a month. At the end of it, they had overcome some VERY profound water fear and could confidently swim across a pool, dive for sinking toys, and jump in/swim to a wall and climb out independently. It's truly incredible what she can do in 10 weeks. My daughter who was just under 3 when she started, is usually very shy and reserved with others. She's never opened up so quickly to anyone as she has to Ms. Nikki and within the first couple days, she was comfortable in her arms. My husband and I were completely taken a back and considered cancelling the lessons at that point. But I really wanted my kiddo to be swim safe and I convinced myself that I was overreacting. Day 3 went well and my son started to get a bit more comfortable. Day 4 my son was a bit whiny and it looked like Coach Ginnie was getting annoyed with him and started to speak to him very aggressively. I just brushed it off as a coaching technique. She then called my 3 year old a master manipulator while he was with her. We are very conscious of empower our children and speaking to them encouragingly. At this point we cancelled the lesson.
