They are all very knowledgeable and have great patience when it comes to teaching a toddler who emotions can be all over the place. He may not be able to swim on his own at this age yet but he now is very comfortable in the water, learning safety survival skills which is beneficial to all parents. My son, Enzo, who has recently turned 8 years old, has been swimming with Safe Swim for 1 year and 5 months now (2x a week). Enzo loves it there, and he doesn't want to quit swimming even though he is a good swimmer and a good diver. Enzo did not know how to swim when he first started out. He has learned so much there! We LOVE Safe Swim Academy! I was referred to them from a coworker after sharing the struggles my daughter was having with swim lessons at the YMCA. She was scared of the water and just needed a little bit of consistency to build trust and confidence, but the YMCA classes were all over the place with times and instructors and how many classes there were per month. We had been doing the private lessons for only a few weeks and my daughter was already putting her face in the water. My oldest was born premature and I wanted to take a more unconventional approach for helping her develop and catch up on gross and fine motor skills. And this became much more than that. We did Safe Swim for about 6 months. My 5 year old daughter had the same instructor for about the first month, and then about 5 different interchanging instructors (all who had no idea or run down on her abilities prior to her coming), so each time was like starting from zero. Monica who runs safe swim has no cancellation policy set in place. No website to rebook like the other 5 activities my daughter has participated in. Dad & I split custody and like to be present at all of our daughters activities. Monica was not understanding about this at all. In the beginning, she said any time we needed to cancel, we can just tack the lesson on to the end of the pack. Each time we did that, she would get frustrated and ask us to schedule a makeup session. We were open to that, and the couple of times she even got back to us on a makeup session, was the NIGHT before ... requesting a different time than the range we gave her. She made us switch days of the week because we cancelled twice in a 3 month time, and then eventually asked us to discontinue or change again since we had 3 cancellations over summer. Cancellations happen. The fact she does not have a CLEAR cancellation policy, and then makes families feel bad about it, is very discouraging. The way we were treated at the end after being such loyal customers, I will never recommend Safe Swim to anyone. We are now at AquaTots who are extremely organized, thorough, and have a very clear cancellation policy (5 hours prior) with no emotions involved. Monica - would recommend you getting this in place and stop making families feel bad about their situation. read more

I have done some of "the best" known name swim programs but Safe Swim is the best and deserves 10 stars. My son is 5.5 (started him with safe swim at 4) and had a traumatizing experience at his old school that caused him to never want to get into the pool. He wasn't confident, and wasn't making progress at his old spot. I found Safe Swim on yelp and talked to the owner that day. I explained my sons history of swim and water to Monica and she paired him with coach Tyrell. My sons dad has always taken him to his weekly classes so I never saw first hand how lessons went, but I immediately saw a difference in his confidence, skills, and he WANTED to go to swim for the first time. I took my son today and not only am blown away with coach Tyrell's teaching skills, but the other instructors working with kids. They make sure kiddos are comfortable, happy, but push them in a way that is fun and they're learning. I could go on and on- but if you are looking for a spot to have your kid learn to swim this is without a doubt it. Thank you for everything safe swim staff!! read more
