My lifeguard arrived 15 minutes before the set time, and was ready to go to work. He was very nice to the kids, and didn't even want to grab a bite or a drink, we offered him. With our 6 year old, he helped her build on the skills she already had, refine her technique, and learn new strokes. He did a great job adjusting the lessons to each child's age and ability. Diego was also always on time, easy to communicate with, and great about answering all of our questions. We always felt like we knew how the kids were doing and what they were working on. The kids made huge progress and really took leaps and bounds with their swimming in just six lessons. I started swimming for exercise a few months ago after higher impact activities weren't working for my body anymore, and I quickly noticed I had no idea what I was doing, even though I'd learned how to swim as a kid. I felt like I was flailing around in the pool, couldn't swim for more than 15 minutes without feeling exhausted, and couldn't breathe correctly. Basically I could survive in the pool, but thriving wasn't even a possibility. After only a few lessons with Kristina, I feel more confident, I'm understanding how to breathe without freaking out, and I'm becoming more aware of how my body moves in the water. I've even worked my way up to swimming for about an hour, because I'm learning how to swim more efficiently. Kristina is an excellent teacher, and she makes the lessons enjoyable, approachable, and 100% worthwhile. She takes an individualized approach to teaching and offers useful feedback in a kind, compassionate way. I'm looking forward to continuing to work with Kristina, and I highly recommend her coaching, whether you're just learning to swim or you're already an aquatic badass and want to get even better.

Traveled from NYC to get my 5 year old into swimming. This was his first lesson ever. Yes he cried as the website warns you for the first 2-3 days. By day 4 he didn't want to get out of the pool! He was already doing the breast stroke by week 1 and he did drop drills where he swam to a ledge to get safe. It was hard to get him out of the pool after our last lesson. John and Kimber are amazing. Don't waste time second guessing and just book the sessions! My only regret is that we didn't start sooner. I'll likely bring my son back next year for advanced lessons!

It's a very no-frills spot: small locker room, showers, very minimal seating on the pool deck, and a dedicated 1-3 lanes for lap swim. For $4 for ~2 hours, it's a pretty darn good deal. I will say that the pool isn't in the best condition. You can tell there's been a lot of wear and tear. I also don't love that there are open deep gutters along the permitter, making it difficult to get in/out of the pool. Overall, not a bad pool, but not a great pool. I'm personally looking for a more elevated pool experience

We often bring the whole family. They also have great cardio classes, everything from Spin to Zumba and even Aqua aerobics. I have also noticed over the years that the staff is very friendly, and accommodating. You can tell they really care about the members. The only thing they are missing is a recovery room! This is the biggest trend now, and almost every gym has a sauna (infrared or conventional), steam room and or a cold plunge. I think they will eventually add one in. As people are now seeing the benefits of recovery more than just a quick cardio workout! Hopefully they will follow suit.

People here are accommodating and know the rules and work with you on sharing lanes if it gets crowded. But the pool here is one of the best I have been to in all the YMCA's I have swam at.
