Welmerink Law - Luke Welmerink, Esq.

Luke Welmerink, Esq., prepared complete estate planning portfolios for my husband and me in 2024…read moreand we could not be happier with the service and end result. We were introduced to Luke via the Nevada Attorney General's Office of Military Legal Assistance (OMLA) as my husband is a veteran and qualified for free legal services. Luke expresses his patriotism by offering pro bono services to the military. (If you are interested in this service, the request must go through the OMLA - 775-687-2140 or nvagomla@ag.nv.gov). Our experience with Luke and his staff was excellent from start to finish. He impressed us with his integrity, honesty, and professionalism, while being very personable and relatable. He kept us informed throughout the process with just the right number of emails and follow up. He really took the time to get to know us so he could prepare our estate with our wishes clearly defined. The process took two appointments. The first was to go over what the estate would include (the will, power of attorney, durable power of attorney for health care, memorial instructions, personal effects, etc.) and to go over the details on the worksheet he had provided for us to complete before the meeting. The second appointment was to go over the completed will and other documents in detail, making a few alterations, and signing. When it was finished, he presented it to us in a beautiful green binder. In addition to the estate planning, he enrolled us at no charge for the first year in a cloud-based service which will store our documents and be available to those we designate should something happen to both my husband and me. He also registered us with Nevada Lockbox, which is an advanced directive registry for medical concerns. If you need an attorney for estate, tax, asset protection and/or business planning, or estate administration, Luke Welmerink, Esq., and his team should be on your short list of law practices to contact.

It's more like going to coffee with a trusted advisor and friend from the moment you meet him. Couldn't have planned my death and estate in a more comfortable setting, with clear and concise advice, explanations, and options. I highly recommend him, as do my friends who recommended him to me!

I've been meaning to do some estate planning for years and have even spoken with other attorneys…read moreabout it, but Angie was the only person who demystified the process for me. We met once to game-plan, she drafted the documents and sent them electronically (encrypted) for review, we finalized them, and then we met again to sign everything. She recorded them with the county, provided electronic and physical copies of all the signed docs immediately, and we're all set now. I'm glad it's finally done and everything is written out so that we shouldn't have to update anything unless our wishes change. I have a legal insurance plan, which made getting a trust, will, power of attorney and medical directives executed at a very reasonable rate.

I…read morepreviously spoke with another attorney on our plan and so glad I decided to find another option. Attorney Elquist helped us set up a Trust, Powers of Attorney for Health and Finances for both me and my husband, and couple other related documents. She was very organized and made what an otherwise complicated process smooth and easy to understand. She kept an open line of communication throughout and answered our questions in a timely manner. After the first meeting in person, we did everything else through email and only met again to sign the documents. She understood our time constraints and so she had everything ready to go and we finished everything during our lunch break. Having all these legal documents completed can be a daunting task so I'm very glad to have Atty Elquist to guide us throughout the process. I highly encourage everyone to (1) have the necessary legal papers in place; (2) check if this is something offered through work. The fees can be pricey (at least $2k), so having work cover part of it is a great benefit to take advantage of,; and (3) contact Atty Elquist for a consultation. Each family has different needs but she will be happy to walk you through what documents you need to have in place. I highly recommend!
