She adamantly responded, "sorry, Medicare Advantage passed the costs over to you". After seeing one rude nurse, Andrea, I went back to the lobby to wait to see the doctor. After sitting there for almost 40 minutes I realized that patients who arrived after me were being seen. I'm guessing this is because I disagreed with something Andrea wanted me to do. So she took it upon herself to misplace my paperwork to be seen by the doctor.

Then I waited 30 minutes for my eyes to fully dilate and the doctor saw me right away. Some reviewers have complained about the wait time. Well, what some don't realize is that the doctors probably had an emergency and I have been that emergency before. I've been the one that had to have their eye lasered because I had a retina tear. Before you complain, think about why the wait happened. Perhaps you could be the one to need to have your eyes lasered next time and cause the office to be behind.

Yet, no one caught the signs and symptoms for her specific diagnosis until she went to Dr. Tran. It took me couple months to convince her to get her "annual" eye exam after at least 2-3 years of not having one. Right away, Dr. Tran suspected something concerning and referred her to more testings. Long story short and without going into too much details, because of his suggestion, we discovered several of her health issues and complications that must have happened over the past couple years. I have not had to get an eye exam since learning about my mom's issue, or else I would have started coming here. However, I have referred a friend of mine here for chemical burnt. She was seen by Dr. Khan and quickly felt better after leaving the office. They have one in the office waiting area, and right outside the office in the lobby waiting area, so there are plenty of spaces for social distancing during this Covid-19. I showed at 2:30 in hopes they may get me in a bit early. They called me back at 3:00 to do some assessment testing, which lasted about 15 minutes. At 3:15pm took me to an exam room where I waited for an hour and 15 minutes with no communication from staff about delays or a long wait period. Never got a chance to see the doctor. I finally walked out at 4:30 with no communication to them. If they have no more respect for my time and no better appreciation for me as a patient, I'm happy to seek the services of a different Ophthalmologist. I would not go to any other group of doctors for retina problems. I have been to several of their offices...Arlington, Fort Worth and Grapevine and they are rate the highest rating I could ever give. These doctors saved my sight twice; detached retina in both eyes and I can't sing their praises enough. I've seen 4 of the doctors in the practice and 2 of them have operated on my retina and they are all wonderful!

Receptionist order the contact samples with the wrong prescription. Reason: that brand don't carry that prescription (diameter and aisle) so you still order with calling? I paid $10. 3. Asked for a copy of glasses prescription.The 2nd copy was different from the first one. I.e. cylinder was +150 and axis 074 on the first copy and +1.25 and 075 on the second copy. 4. Now, they refusing to answer my calls to resolve the contact and glass issues. 5. Appointment was at 11am and I finish until 2pm. Waited in the wait room for over +45 minutes to be seen...twice.

Working with eye floaters and determining improvement is very subjective and a very complex issue. However, I hired Dr. Johnson, "The Floater Doctor", for Yag laser Vitreolysis treatment of a large Weiss Ring floater, and unfortunately, following 2 treatments, I viewed my condition as actually worsening by about 10%. In a nutshell, my one large organized Weiss Ring floater in the side of my vision became many, many disorganized floaters in the center of my vision. That's how I quantified that my outcome represented a 10% degradation. The degradation is the result of the increased number of floaters combined with their location in my eye and the disorganized nature of those many floaters. For a bit, I thought it actually got better and I advised Dr. Johnson of that but again, in different lighting conditions have different effect and what I thought was an improvement, has since become worse again. After a couple months I've now realized that the improvement I thought I noticed was actually illusionary. Unfortunately one cannot really notice the full nature of the results of Yag Laser Vitreolysis for some time after each treatment is performed; at least until the dilation and numbing drops wear off and therefore impossible to know if the treatment was successful for an extended period of time. I would put that minimal time at twenty-four hours and then perhaps even up to several weeks following the treatment for complete results to be realized. Because I drove 800 miles each way to Arlington, TX to meet with Dr. Johnson, I wanted to make certain that I planned enough time to ensure a positive outcome and advised Dr. Johnson of that when I made my appointment and through email communications leading up to the appointment. Essentially, I was available for as long as needed. Although I did anticipate having to undergo additional treatments and had planned accordingly, I did not pursue further treatment because at the conclusion of my second treatment Dr. Johnson said that he was very happy with the results and was surprised at how clean everything looked after starting with such a large floater. Dr. Johnson then advised that he had completed the treatment and no further treatments would be necessary or indicated. That advice from Dr. Johnson lead me to understand that it was Dr. Johnson's assessment that additional treatments were not likely to produce better or more thorough results. Prior to posting this review, I did try to call Dr. Johnson but there was no answer and his phone number does not allow one to leave a message and to paraphrase, simply says that he's very busy and to email him instead. The above is my personal experience with Yag Laser Vitreolysis.
