The playground is split up with small pieces of equipment on either side of the oval. There are swings and an old metal see-saw on one side and the play structure, more swings and another bouncy see-saw on the other side, near the tennis courts. The playground is designed for older children and toddlers won't find anything here that they can play on for a long time. It is nestled under some trees, so at least there is some dappled shade but I was really disappointed with the lack of equipment here. Large areas such as ovals and sports grounds can either be hit or miss when it comes to the playgrounds on their grounds. This reserve unfortunately, is a miss for me. There is a seating area with some BBQs but again, only tree shade. There is a tap but I couldn't see a drinking fountain. Toilets aren't far from the tennis courts. The tennis courts also have netball and basketball hoops. *Dogs allowed* *BBQs* *Toilets* *Tap* *Seating* *Tennis courts*

Henley has had some of the best greens in the state for a very long time, and although they don't have a team in the top division any more they are never far off the pack. They have had a very solid Night Owls competition for many years and have a great bar/lounge area for medium sized functions. The other great part about the clubs location, in terms of having a function, is the proximity to Henley Square. It is just a hop skip and a stumble from the Rammy....did someone say "time to kick on"?

Henley Bowling feels like Australia…read more I've only even been in the summer, and it's always really hot and really dry. But that's our country for you. I certainly can't blame the bowling club for the weather... can't I? I dunno. Wherever the justice is, I've never really enjoyed my time at Henley Bowling. I much prefer the bowling club near the airport (whose name, if not its location, I always forget). And maybe that's because it was my first. The indoor area's great, though. I love hanging out in there with a beverage. But I don't come to a bowling club to hang, I come to bowl, and I prefer doing it elsewhere (despite this location's convenience in comparison to the other one).

The swimming pool is one of the cleanest in the State, so safe in fact you can drink it...not that you'd want to do it intentionally anyway but it won't make you sick after a few accidental gulps. This summer it will be open Mon - Fri 6.00am - 8.00pm and at $3.00 per entry it's one of the cheapest in SA. The pool is not undercover so slip, slop, slap or at least go when the sun isn't at it's fiercest. Lanes are segregated to cater for swim schools, coaching, lap swimming and for generally having a fun splash. It also offers a full gym inside the complex but for futher details check out the website or phone.

The Norwood Swimming Pool is a fun little place…read more It consists of an outdoor 50m lap pool along with a smaller kiddies pool which is covered with shade cloth. As is the usual practice with these sorts of places, the lap pool has an area cautioned off for actual lap swimming, (although in all likelyhood you'll get stuck behind some granny if you actually try and swim laps) and an area for free swimming. The main attraction of the Norwood Swimming pool, or at least the main attraction when I was a kid, was the springy diving board at the end of the pool. I can't believe they haven't made that illegal yet, and very happy they haven't at the same time.

In the 3 years I have been swimming here on a daily basis I have only had to slow down for people on maybe one lap every couple of visits to the pool. What is best about this place is when you go on a below 35 degree day after 4pm - There will be no-one there. I have had the entire olympic pool to myself... couldn't get any better then that.

The shaded playground is a great set up. There's a lot of different equipment for older children and would suit Primary School aged children. In my view, it's a shame the two playgrounds aren't closer together, at least on the same hill. There are toilets at the beginning of the park...not too far for little children to walk but it is right next to the car park. Semaphore is a bit quieter than the tourist beaches of Glenelg, Henley etc, and is the most Northern (as well as Largs) before hitting Port Adelaide. It suits all my needs, whether I want to run my dog, ride my bike along the esplanade, jog along the beach, sunbak, swim, jump small waves. This beach has it all, including so much parking so close and free! Semaphore is really safe so is the best family beach. It has lots of sandbanks which keep water shallow and there are no rips or large waves. The water is quite warm in summer and there is plenty of smooth sand to play games on. When you park your car there is heaps of grass for brushing off the sand from your feet, benches for picnics, some trees and paths through the small sand dunes to the beach. It's a welcoming, fun-loving and wholesome beach: we're not talking L.A. style glitz here - we're talking families, teenagers (this is the middle of suburbia, after all), groups of friends, dog-walkers, kite-flyers, chilled out crowds and open expanses. All the preeners and tourists are at Glenelg, leaving the western beaches relatively uncrowded. Even in the height of summer, if you go for a stroll early you can pretty much have the whole beach to yourself...or feel that way, anyway. As a family-friendly beach there are plenty of facilities: barbecues, playgrounds, a miniature steam train to take you down the foreshore, lots of grass (by which I mean lawn, perhaps I should clarify!), a skate park and rides aplenty in midsummer. Not to mention the WATER SLIDE. It may be small, but it's a water slide. Enough said! There's no surf to speak of, but its calm unperturbed waters make for excellent swimming, or just floating around motionless (which frankly is more my style). And when you need that post swim munch session, there are plenty of cafes, ice-creameries and pubs on nearby Semaphore Road to keep you feeling the peaceful summery vibes. Pristine white sands, clear blue water, bright endless sky...yeah, it's good to be home.

Ahhh, how times change after you become a parent. I was so delightfully touched by this place. THIS is yet another playground/park area within the Unley Council that screams "WE LOVE OUR COMMUNITY!" I really, really, REALLY want to give this a five star review but to tell you the truth I was so blown away by it that I didn't look for half of the 'extras' I normally try to find in a five star review. Let me run through some things with you; fully fenced, dog park (see times on photos), shade sails, entirely rubber floored, drinking fountain and snake fountain (I think this is for the four legged members of the family...check out photos), equipment for varying age groups and abilities, table/chairs. The playground itself is a little dated but this is such a wonderful set up the dull grey doesn't even matter (to me anyway). I'm coming back here to check it out further and I'll bring my daughter with me so I have an excuse to swing and slide and climb. *Dogs allowed* *Drinking fountain* *Shade sails*
