Very disappointed with the meal and service tonight. We've been having meals at the Paradise hotel for over 20 years, but this is the worst it's ever been and we won't be going back there until there is a change of hands in either management or owners. Let me explain:-
From the moment we entered the lounge and approached the desk to be escorted to our table we knew there was something wrong. We were waiting and waiting for someone to come to our assistance. Finally a young guy did turn up and he showed us to our pre booked table.
Well as soon as we sat down we could clearly see that the table hadn't been cleaned properly from the previous patrons. I mean it wasn't that bad, but it was obvious. We didn't say anything to the guy.
This was the second black mark.
While he was there we ordered the cob bread and a bottle of the house red. The wine turned up pretty promptly by one of the girls, but there was no sign of the cob bread. Another girl came along shortly after to take our order for the main course.
Still no cob bread.
Some time passes, maybe 10 to 15 minutes and low and behold our main course arrives.
Still no cob bread!
Well half way through our main course we finally see the cob bread.
This was the third and final black mark.
Look, don't get me wrong. All the staff are great and do what they can, but after quizzing them about the problems it seems that new management in all their "wisdom" decided to cut back on staff.
And boy, does it show in the level of service provided.
We certainly won't be going back there with the current management regimen.
Interesting isn't it. Management and owners think they are so smart and get so greedy only to have it all backfire on them.
Now here's something for the owners:-
You people certainly have a lot to learn about running an efficient operation.
I just hope you don't go broke before you learn the errors of your ways. There is no substitute for good staff that aren't expected to be over worked and under paid. This is a false economy and by doing what you have it will come back and bite you on the bum. It might all look good on the spread sheet, but there are always dowsides.
In the past we use to say to friends, business associates and family members, "hey, let's go meet up at the Paradise for a meal on such and such a night".
We use to be ambassadors for the Paradise hotel.
Not any more. Can't you see, or don't you understand the domino effect. You have not only lost our patronage, but also that of pretty much everyone we know.
Will just our boycotting your establishment affect your spreadsheet results?
Probably not, but hey, do you think we are in isolation?
Probably not again.
In fact the table beside us tonight had some problems with an order as well. The guy came out and was very apologetic about the mistake and brought another meal to the individual. I don't know the details, but if these people feel the same way as us, you people may find yourselves in strife.
In concluding, stop being so greedy. Bring the staff level back to where it was. We don't mind paying a premium for good service (and good food of course), but it seems you are asking patrons to still pay a premium with a cut in the service. It won't work. read more
