Then you have to have an appointment to establish service. During this appointment, they literally will NOT talk to you about any medical issues you have or any prescriptions you might need. You're supposed to make another appointment for that. This first appointment is just for the APRN to nod her head while you go over your history. They make a big deal about being cheaper than doctors, and it's true, their actual visit cost is less. However, you'll quickly find (if you pay out of pocket like we do) that they have "procedure fees" for everything. For instance, at the doctor we eventually found, I only pay a $35 nurse fee for vaccinations, but at Park Wellness, I was expected to pay the regular office visit fee PLUS an additional amount for a procedure fee, which brought the total to MORE than a checkup with the doctor. Not only that, but I was flat out told that they charge MORE for a procedure fee for people who pay out of pocket than they charge insurance companies. The office manager, who is related to both APRNs and is therefore likely there to stay, is a rude jerk. I'd say more, but frankly, I have so little trust for this place that I don't want to say enough that I can be identified. This was one of the worst "doctor" experiences I've ever had.

Both APRN's that work at this office truly care about the well being of their patients, they will call and check in after an appointment to make sure you are recovering. They scheduled it but later received a call saying the hair stylist can't come in that early and asking if I can come in later. My brain couldn't process at that time and I simply said "no" The lady on phone told me that's fine, she will ask Jen, the owner, to come in early to do it. So on my wedding day, I followed the directions on Yelp and I was first led to a private residence which was not correct. I called and the lady on phone told me it's actually in the Keaau shopping plaza. I arrived 10 minutes late but Jen greeted me with her friendly smile. I told her the emergency situation, showed her some pictures with what I want and my hair accessories I am having. Jen quickly grasped the idea and she just worked her magic with ease. She is clearly experienced, and know what she is doing. Just an hour later, my husband and my hair become picture-ready! Pro: -flexible schedule; able to deal with emergency situation -committed to the service -skillful; would do their best for you -friendly cozy environment I've lived in Hawaii for years and I know how people on the island behave. The longer I sat in the massage chair the worse it got. My pedicure and manicure was horrible! Why did the tech change the shape of my nails when all I approved was a trim. My nails grow square and now I have round nails that don't match my feet or fingers. Why did the nail techs use the filing tool to remove previous nail polish instead of nail polish remover and why did they cut and trim my nails before soaking my hands or feet. I thought the purpose of the soak was to clean the client before using shared tools on them. Granted they opened a new pack of nail clippers and other metal tools but the electric filer and callus remover is clearly community. The place I go to in Oahu uses new mini kits every time and they let you take it home! In the past I got my hair cut here three times. Never did my nails. Three times by three different people. The best cut was by Jen. She washed cut and styled my hair and only charged a cut price. I tipped her well. The second person did not wash my hair but he did an excellent cut. The third person was supposed to be done by Jen but she double booked herself. The person washed my hair even though she didn't ask not did I, cut and styled my hair even though I didn't ask to be styled and then charged me for all services. I never returned after that. The third cut sucked. The second cut was great and sadly he left but I see why.

The first was in September 2022, when Suzanne left me hanging for three days before eventually telling me she couldn't accommodate a couples massage. I decided to give Hale Ho'ōla another chance this year. On September 1, I arranged a couples massage for September 15 to celebrate my wedding anniversary with my husband. Suzanne told me she had availability from 4-8pm, I selected 4pm, and provided my email address as requested. On the morning of our appointment, I realized I'd never received the confirmation email or any instructions, so at 9:54am I texted Suzanne to make sure we were still on for 4pm. She read my message but didn't respond. Around 2pm, as we were preparing for the 2+ hour drive from Kona, I followed up again. She read that message too, but again didn't respond. Suzanne finally called around 2:30pm, after we had already been driving for about 30 minutes. She explained that she'd been dealing with power outages over the previous few days, which I completely understand. However, she also admitted that she had forgotten to put our appointment on her schedule and couldn't see us until after 7pm. I asked whether the following day would work better for her. She said yes it would, but needed to confirm with her other therapist and would get back to me. She never did. I followed up again that evening, which she read without responding. It wasn't until around 4:30pm the following day that she finally texted to say she couldn't make it work. Mistakes and unexpected circumstances happen. What I find unacceptable is the repeated lack of communication. Had Suzanne responded to either of my messages, we never would have started a 2+ hour drive for an appointment that wasn't actually on her schedule. What makes this especially disappointing is that we had specifically planned this couples massage as part of our wedding anniversary celebration. Her lack of communication and organization threw a wrench into our plans and wasted precious vacation time that we can't get back. Instead of enjoying that time together, we spent it driving toward an appointment that didn't exist and then waiting around the following day to find out whether she could accommodate us. As a small business owner myself, I understand that running a business isn't easy. Thought it was cool. While a tattoo of cartoon character looked OK on a teenager, it didn't on a 40 year old. Decided to get it removed. The doctor who undertook this monumental task, did the first session with me, and then decided he likes Tennessee better than Hawaii and one day just took all his lasers and left. And I was left with a half-removed tattoo, which looked even uglier than the original. Fast forward 5 years, and now I am a 45 year old who is ashamed to take his shirt off during yoga or on the beach. Thank goodness I ran into Dr Miyashiro at Hilo Laser Skincare. Dr Miyashiro was very informative, friendly and easy to talk to. After talking to him I have finally decided to go through with the removal of my ugly tattoo. Conveniently located in Hilo, Dr Miyashiro's Clinic occupies a modern, spacious building. The waiting area looks very clean and professional, with numerous staff helping with appointments. I had my temperature taken, and received a big sticker that identified me as a patient who has been checked. After filling up some paperwork, Lindsey, who is Dr Miyashiro's assistant took me to the laser treatment room. The room had a minimalistic decor, but it was equipped with the state of the art laser equipment. Dr. Miyashiro analyzed the tattoo and warned me that if might hurt a little bit. Turns out I barely even felt the procedure. It was virtually painless. He was super quick, the whole process took like 15 minutes. On the way out I was able to schedule my next treatment, after my skin heals. I will definitely see Dr Miyashiro again, and I highly recommend his clinic for anyone seeking a tattoo removal, skin rejuvenation, skin resurfacing or injections. I heard from other clients that he is an artist with Botox and fillers.
