Very runny queso if that's your jam.
Ross R.

The food here is always good. However, for some reason every time we order queso and chips it's super runny and watered down. The service has gotten a little slower as well. The food on the other hand is always really good outside of the runny queso. It's got a nice atmosphere with plenty of TVs to watch a ball game. If you're in there during game time check it out.

With a wonderful patio, vibrant interior, and welcoming and capable staff, Papi's in Palomar was an enjoyable lunch stop. I ordered cheese enchiladas with rice and beans and my husband got asada and chorizo street tacos with the bean soup. The provided salsa was a non-spicy, but good salsa, and the chips were a thickness that could have stood up to a hearty pico de gallo, but not overly think. A great chip. The tacos were good, my husband said the chorizo wasn't very spicy. He enjoyed the corn tortillas as they had good flavor and didn't fall apart. He scraped the bowl on his bean soup. The rice and beans were middle of the road. Okay, not bad. The enchilada was filled with colby jack cheese, I believe. I am not a fan of that type of cheese in my enchiladas, but it was a tasty dish. Our total, including one soda and a water, was $38.94 before tip. All in all, we will recommend Papi's as an easy meal out in a convenient location. Plenty of choices on the menu. We would go back again.

My favorite Mexican restaurant in Lexington! Ask for Salima!! She's my favorite server. She's extremely attentive and gets every detail right every time! The food is always delicious and the margaritas are fabulous (the don't skimp on the tequila). There is great outdoor seating with cornhole for the kids on nice days too. This restaurant is in constant rotation for me!!!

My husband and I went to check out Papi's in Palomar on a Saturday this summer after hearing great things about their new location and patio. We waited about 20 minutes for a table outside which wasn't terrible considering how busy it was. Once we were seated our waiter brought us waters, chips, and salsa and took our drink order. My husband got a margarita on the rocks which he reported to be good! For my entree I ordered the veggie fajitas which were delicious and was a generous serving. They came out sizzling hot as you'd expect! The only reason for the 3 star rating was that both of our stomachs hurt the next day...We have eaten at the Papi's in Chevy Chase and the Papi's Rapido and have never had this issue. Because of this, I would be willing to go back to Papi's in Palomar to give it another chance!

My husband and I decided to give this place a try because we were on this side of town. It was so busy we sat at the bar but the service was amazing and we even had the owner taking our order. It's a little loud in here but I gave 5 stars on the mole all on its own. My husband had the beef chimichanga but no picture happened since all thoughts left my brain after trying that mole. The owner said his mother makes it for him and it's the best I've ever had. It was the perfect balance of sweet and savory with a hint of spice. I also happily downed my surprisingly strong margarita!

We visited here for the first time..we all agreed that the food was fairly mediocre, service was really slow and it was probably a one and done visit.

On a lazy Sunday afternoon after Derby the first thing most people are craving in Mexican fare, am I right? Well...at least I was! Lexington has an abundance of good Mexican restaurants but Papi's is now at the top of the list! We were promptly greeted and seated on the patio with dog in tow. When we ordered our drinks the manager also sent out a bowl of water for our dog. I am a huge Mole fan, and I think their neighbors at El Charro had the best in town, but WOW! Papi's blew theirs away. I had the Enchiladas Mole with chicken which come with a side of rice and awesome refried beans. My wife ordered the Pastor Tacos and they were delicious as well. The service was top notch and the manager is super friendly with a great personality. I am going to be a regular and look forward to my next visit! * According to the manager they will have alcohol via an event license on Cinco de Mayo and should have their full license by the end of that week.

Great local Mexican place to take the family for dinner or a night out with friends. Food is fresh, service is great and they have a full bar with tasty margaritas. They often have live music in the evenings and outdoor patio seating for the Warner months!

The enchiladas weren't cooked properly they were cold. I don't think I will go back unless I'm desperate.

Food is pretty good, but the atmosphere makes it a lot better. One of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Lexington.

We ordered several tapas to share. We started with the Lettuce Wraps, made with onion, garlic, ginger, peanuts, Thai red chilies, and ground beef. The beef was tender and flavorful, with a touch of sweet sauce and a nice level of heat; the ginger and garlic added a lot. It was cooked in chunks rather than completely broken up, allowing for bigger, more flavorful bites. The chilies weren't hot but added texture, and the peanuts did too. The lettuce was crisp and fresh. Something about the dish felt like it was missing something to tie it together. Next, we tried the Pork Bao, prepared with char-sui-glazed pork (hoisin sauce, soy sauce, honey, Chinese five-spice powder, and fermented red bean curd), along with pickles. The bao bun was steamed, moist, a little sticky, and had great chew. The shredded pork was cooked perfectly, tender, juicy, with a great chew and flavor, with a few crunchy bits too. The glaze had a slight heat on the back end, with sweetness coming through first. The carrots and green onions add light flavor, but the pickles provide a much-needed acid punch to cut through the heavier pork. We also tried the Duck Boa, which came with roasted duck, apricot sweet 'n' sour, and scallions. The boa again was really good. The duck was the star. It was sweet, crispy, tender, and juicy, with a great chew and flavor. The carrots had a sour, briny taste, with the scallions having a crunch. The apricot flavor was slight, but the sweetness came through throughout the bite, with the carrots' sourness coming through. Our last dish was Korokke: potato croquettes with peas, carrots, and curry gravy. The curry gravy was ginger-forward but only lightly, with a peanut flavor and a peppery finish. It has a good body and flavor, and it pairs perfectly with the potato. The croquette's crunch was really nice, and the peas added a pop of texture. The potatoes were a thick mash with small chunks to chew on, but they lacked salt and tasted slightly bland on their own. 3Ten offers a nice variety of menu items, shareable starters, salads, boas, entree dishes, and vegan selections. They offer a full bar with beer and wine. The wait staff was very nice and knowledgeable about the menu items. I highly recommend making a reservation because space is limited. The Fat Man says that 3Ten is Fat Man Approved with 2 chins.
