First of all, G is an amazing person inside and out. Her professionalism is spectacular, and she is just so kind. Not even 24 hours go by before she emails you back about anything. We just recently used her business for our save the dates and they came out perfect. Not to mention, she hand wrote every envelope (180!!!) in a matter of weeks. She would send us updated proofs within hours (NOT DAYS, HOURS)- which we truly appreciated since we were on a time crunch. I took my first one-on-one traditional calligraphy class with Giulissa (G) yesterday and the time just flew by! She was so methodical in her technique and teaching style, and was so patient explaining everything clearly. Not once did she ever make me feel rushed, and she paid special attention to how I was writing my letters and helped me troubleshoot any issues that came up. Giulissa is amazing! I am about 6 months late for this review. I finally received my professional pictures from my photographer and I wanted to share my experience. She is a complete professional and such a lovely person!!!! Dealing with her was so easy- she is so responsive, and so upfront with everything. I was having a tough time finding someone who can do mirror calligraphy for my seating chart. Giulissa is talented, easy to work with, has a keen attention to detail - I highly recommend her and her classes. A friend and I took her "Watercolor Calligraphy" class. As a novice (I can spell "calligraphy" - just don't ask me to demonstrate the art form) I came in with zero experience. Giulissa had the workshop set up with welcoming place cards, all supplies (including job aids / guide sheets), and away we went. She demonstrated, explained, showed, and repeated to help me learn. Very patient, great explanations, encouraging, and she circulated around the room to help learners of all abilities. I encourage you to take a workshop - it's fun, you learn a lot, and get to practice. In addition to public workshops, Giulissa also does private sessions! I would take this workshop again - I know I will learn even more and have fun while doing so! read more

Last Christmas, my daughter gave me a Beginner's calligraphy book and supplies, urging me sharpen my rudimentary skills so I could address her wedding invitations. When my husband realized I was getting anxious, he Googled "calligraphy" and discovered Giulissa. What a lifesaver she has been! Not only does Giulissa have outstanding communication skills online and in person, but she also is very professional in her interaction with clients, gives clear direction and meets deadlines... AND each product is an exquisite keepsake. Yet she goes far beyond the basics and even was willing to let us pick up the completed envelopes early on the July 4th holiday. On last Saturday two friends & I attended her 2-hour Beginners' Calligraphy workshop at Buon Vino in Walnut Creek. The time flew by and although I have lots of practice ahead of me, I appreciated all the preparation -- handouts, supplies, clear instruction and hands-on practice -- in a casual setting where participants enjoyed wine and delicious sweet & savory treats.
