I was walking around the mall and saw a poster for an Ube Mille Crepe, so I had to make a visit! The place had a very princessy atmosphere. It reminded me of Lady M (bakery in the U.S. and other countries that sells mille crepes). We decided to order the Ube Mille Crepe (of course) and the Original Mille Crepe.
Ube Mille Crepe: it had a very light purple color. It didn't look like it didn't have food coloring because it wasn't bright purple like other ube in the Philippines. Alternating layers were filled with ube cream and regular cream, and the top had an ube-cake-like crumble. The first bite was amazing. It had a nice ube flavor and wasn't too sweet, but it was very creamy and heavy.
Original Mille Crepe: it tasted like any other original mille crepe. It didn't really have any flavor and just tasted like cream. My friend loved it, but I didn't really care for it.
Overall, I am not a fan of mille crepes because it feels like I'm eating a bunch of cream with little slivers of paper, but the ube was soo good. I'm biased because I love ube! I usually would never eat a mille crepe, but I would come back and get the ube one again. I wish a bakery would serve this flavor back in the U.S. read more
