This was a super random stop and we didn't really expect much out of it, but ended up utterly and pleasantly surprised by how fantastic the food was here. This is a simple food stand with outdoor seating that sits out front of a husband and wife's property. There is some room just inside the gate too to park your car. The wife was really friendly and is the one that cooked up our food for us. I got the chicharrones de cerdo (pork belly), which was served with name and other starches, along with macaroni salad. The macaroni salad wasn't anything special, but everything else was absolutely superb. We had already eaten a lot of starches while in Puerto Rico and had been dying for some ketchup to douse it all in up to this point. The lady at La Parada cooked up the starches in a delicious way that didn't have me desiring for a condiment - it was delicious. The pork belly was also excellent. It's definitely not a health food, but is more than worth the calorie splurge. My husband got the guanimes with bacalao. The guanimes, a sort of corn concoction, were really good. The bacalao (shredded fish) was also pretty darn good. We tried out Mavi for the first time ever as well, which is a sweet fermented drink. Worth a shot at least once in your life. Of all the food we had during our week in Puerto Rico, this place is definitely a stand out. Do yourself a favor and give it a try.

Muchos locales cerrados por la situación y llegamos hasta la Plaza del Pueblo de Caguas. Encontramos este kiosko que lleva muchos años abiertos y decidimos probarlo. Ordenamos el mismo plato para ambos Extreme Burger sale con papas fritas. Esto es un Kiosko al aire libre con algunas mesas en la misma plaza. Mientras esperas estás en en una de las plazas más grandes de Puerto Rico. Eran las 12 del medio pero no había mucho Sol y tampoco calor. Esperamos en nuestra mesita de metal el almuerzo. Para resumir esta súper rico y con sabor el hamburger, papas fritas calientes. La proporción es grande para una persona. Mi esposa solo se comió la mitad y nos llevamos la otra. Lo único que deficiente que tengo que decir del local y se puede mejorar es hay lidiar con las palomas y alguna que otra mosca molestosa. Hay que darle amor y cariño a las facilidades como parte del mantenimiento del local. No se darle amor por que el local es bastante concurrido los días que abre.

I noticed a line of locals so I decided to park and investigate. They only speak Spanish so if you can only speak English like me then do what I did and just point and smile. She automatically gave us the large reusable cups and then we realized there were a cheaper options on the house cups, we weren't offered. 2) There was only one waitress and she was either passing by without checking on us or was no where near by or hard to spot. Because of this we went straight up to the counter to ask for the missing items, and the person hand in items, gave then to us and then said: "Next time go ask your waitress" Seriously? Is this how you are suppose to treat and respond to clients? Strongly suggest some training on customer service and proper etiquette responses. Although you order at the register and get (loudly) called for pickup at the counter, attendants roam the floor checking on your needs and satisfaction. The creation that I chose was on the board only as a 1/2 pounder. I asked if I could get it as a 1/3 lb. and they were totally accommodating. A large selection of condiments and a free produce bar round up the creative experience. I am tempted to slice half a star for the soda machines where both iced tea dispensers poured watered down drinks. Maybe that is why refills are free. Lose a full star if it happens next time . . .
