It's a shame this park is no longer well kept. Sure, there's no trash on the ground but the water…read moreis so polluted, I half-expect a mutated loch monster to emerge from the murky, sewage-green depths. I passed two dead catfish, belly-up near the shore in two different places as I walked the length of the lake. Water pipes and covers are broken throughout the park, art pieces are corroding, and just about every surface of this park is covered in graffiti. A shame, because this park was once very nice. I do enjoy coming here during the spring and fall months because it's a solid distance to walk, the sidewalks are wide, and there are a lot of community picnic areas. This park is so big, it stretches across both sides of Mill Avenue off Baseline Road. There's a place to rent paddle boats and bikes, and there are fishing areas spaced strategically around the lake. Something I also like is how easy it is to find shaded areas. This is a very family friendly park with space for children to play. It's also a great place to bring your dog and have your daily walk. There is a recreation center on the SE side of Mill Avenue that houses tennis courts (and I believe there's a pool). Also within this area is a large playground. I also love the ducks, and I'm sad they're swimming in polluted water. City of Tempe: be better. Take care of your parks, especially since tax dollars go toward the upkeep.

We were lucky to have the pickle ball courts to ourselves at 3:30 pm on a Saturday. AYKM? & yay for that b/c it was my first time, being taught by a very patient friend. This place has everything - as Stefon from SNL would say - tennis courts, baseball fields, playground, soccer fields & this cool setup sponsored by AARP that features gym equipment & uses the program "Fitlot." Fitlot is a national nonprofit that helps parks program their equipment. So there's a QR code on equipment for more info to connect to their website AND there are visuals on equipment that show how to use it. I didn't understand how this park could possibly be on 150 acres! then I found a bridge that crosses over the canal & leads to the east side of the park w/ more soccer fields. So yeah this park is humongous! The only thing it doesn't have is a skate park. I think they could integrate that in to the design since there IS so much room. There are signs saying skateboarding is not allowed. Which makes sense when there's not a dedicated space, But skateboarding has become popular for people of all ages, so can yall update? Overall tho, this City Park is outstanding! P.S. Ross Mofford was our Governor from 1988 - 1991

It was a sunny day, so I'm not sure what was wrong with the field. They have plenty of benches at each field, but they're uncovered so watch out for flying softballs! We almost got hit by one from the field behind us. Definitely bringing umbrellas for protection next time. We were there for a few hours, so I had to use the bathroom a couple of times. The first time, the stall I went into ran out of toilet paper, but someone had left a bunch in there from another stall. There was only one sink, and the faucet is the kind that you press then let go and it should run for a short time. But this faucet stopped as soon as you let go. Fortunately I always carry hand sanitizer with me. Later I had to use the restroom again, and only the same stall was available. This time there was zero toilet paper. The bathroom was not like in the worst condition ever, but they should at least make sure the bathroom is stocked with toilet paper, especially when they know a tournament or other sports event is scheduled that day.
