One of the best pizza spots in town…read more The spot is pretty big able to accommodate quite the crowd. I personally like sitting in the back near the bar, which is a quieter more intimate space. Service has always been friendly. The pizza like an oven baked pizza, takes a little bit to come out, but the wait is worth every time. Some of my favorites include carne, salcissa italiana, and crepa. Parking is paid street parking, paid lot, but it's on the streetcar line (def take the street car).

My favorite pie I've tried so far is the Crepa, for those of you who prefer a non tomato based sauce. As for drinks, they have a lot on tap but my favorite is their mango cider. You will leave full and happy and your wallet won't be too upset either. Quick and kind service as well. No complaints.

I ordered the Breadsticks Fully Clothed appetizer (3 large bread stick topped with both, roasted garlic, and mozzarella cheese served with our house made marinara) to share with the table. It was HUGE and was easily shared with everyone. For myself, I ordered one slice of the Parma (prosciutto, blue cheese, caramelized red onion, romano). It was so good! We really liked that everyone could get whatever slice their hearts desired and it seemed that everyone really liked their choices. We will be back!

Locally Owned Gem in KC - Amazing Pizza & True Community Care…read moreAs a volunteer at a small soccer tournament in downtown Kansas City, I ordered from Pizza Tascio (their North Kansas City location) to feed my volunteer partners. I'm so glad I chose this locally owned spot known for their award-winning New York-style pies. The evening turned into a perfect example of why supporting local businesses matters. After a delivery mix-up, the team called right away, took full ownership, offered a refund, and generously made it right. Somehow I ended up with two pizzas instead of one. I felt for the other customer whose order got crossed, but it was clear this locally owned team was taking care of everyone involved--no excuses, just solutions. I brought both pies back to our group of 12 volunteers. Several first-timers were blown away by the fresh, authentic NY-style crust, flavorful sauce, and quality toppings. The pizza was genuinely outstanding and fueled us perfectly after a long day. What impressed me most was how this locally owned business embodies community care. They handled everything with honesty, generosity, and zero drama. In a world where big chains often feel impersonal, Pizza Tascio stands out by truly looking out for their customers and neighborhood. That level of service should be emulated everywhere. They've earned a loyal customer for life. If you're in the Kansas City area, do yourself a favor and support this fantastic local business--you won't be disappointed! Thank you to the Pizza Tascio team--you made our night better and reminded me why local matters.

And thank God, they're not just big for show. These pies are the real deal--crispy crust, melty cheese, just the right amount of sauce, and toppings that actually mean something. No sad pepperoni here. Now, let's talk staff--because these folks were friendlier than your grandma after two glasses of boxed wine. Genuinely awesome vibes all around. And the cocktails? Chef's kiss. Perfectly crafted, not too sweet, not too strong--just the liquid courage you need to justify eating a slice the size of a car hood. Bottom line: come hungry, bring friends, and don't wear tight pants. Fat Sully's is a vibe, a meal, and a minor workout all in one. 10/10 would stuff my face again.

While I do consider myself a part of that subset, I prefer pizzas that use 00 flour and have crispy, aerated crusts with good bubble formation that has a slight chew to it, similar to ones fired in true brick ovens or commercial pizza ovens. For that reason, Nicky's was just okay for the price that it was. I probably wouldn't order from Nicky's again because there are so many other places like Tascio's or Northeast.

When I saw the box (it was a to go order), I knew I made a mistake. Disclaimer: I did read it was a 6" pie...but didn't properly visualize it, meaning I didn't think a pizza this small could be sold; or at least when charging $10 for it. It's smaller than my hand. Don't get me wrong, it tastes great, just like I expected for their unique KC style pies, but not sure it's worth me returning for a solo dinner, as the next size up, which is considered their small at 10" (the size I should've gotten based on how much food one individual needs for dinner), is another $10 upcharge. So a small pepperoni style pizza, for one hungry person, is $20. Being a math nerd, I looked into the pricing by size and the difference between a mini and a large is not even 3x yet you get over 5x the amount of pizza. PS: thanks for waiting after close for me to pick up my pizza. Extra star award for that.
