We stopped in for oven - baked pizza. Bristol was very helpful and my wife and I ordered a medium pepperoni with one half added mushrooms. It was excellent! So was their cherry cheese cake we ordered to go. Dee told us they have been in business for 38 years! Bravo! read more

I ordered a meatball sandwich and I probably had 2 and a 1/2 meatballs on the whole foot.Long check your sandwiches. They're getting chiny

Stafff was nice, order was prepared on time. But this was probably the worst pizza I've ever had. (I've eaten gas station pizza and frozen pizza). Not sure what they could be doing better but I feel like I threw $40 down the drain read more

Everything we had was wonderful. Lunch pizza special with pepperoni with the salad. The salad was cold and crisp which I like and the ranch dressing is so good!!! My partner in crime had the pizza sub which he said was really good. They make their own pizza crust and bread too by the way! We are new to the area and I have been searching for my best pizza. I think I have now found it and will definitely be returning. The whole staff is friendly and there is a peaceful ambiance. The music played today was top notch as well. Highly recommend Papa Kelsey's, but they are closed Sundays. read more

Papa Kelseys - Pizza Near Me - Pocatello, Idaho

I'll try again sometime, but I just tried ordering at 8:50 on a Thursday. They are still open... but didn't want to take my order. Why do workers hate working... trying to put money in their pocket read more

Papa Kelseys has always been a solid place to go for pizza, sandwiches and salads. They use quality ingredients and I'm fairly confident they bake their own bread which is amazing in it's own right. I've never had a bad experience here. It's not a fancy dine in restaurant, but has a decent ambience about it. The staff has always been friendly and if I have time to sit and eat, I enjoy doing so here. Today I had the whole steak sandwich and a small order of fries. The sandwich was toasted perfectly and it was hot, cheesy and super tasty. The fries were hot, crispy and soft on the inside. Not sure what more you could ask for. The portions weren't mind blowing, but they weren't skimpy either. I myself like a little more meat on my sandwich, but for the price I was charged, I was not disappointed. 8.6/10 read more

Best sandwiches - never disappointed. Turkey bacon and steak sandwiches are fantastic - salads and dressing are fresh and crisp. Always clean and very nice staff read more

Just moved into the neighborhood. Saw this place and thought we'd give it a try. I'm sorry but the food was terrible. I'm talking elementary school cafeteria terrible! The crust seemed to be poor quality frozen dough. The sauce tasted like grocery store spaghetti sauce. I've literally had way better pizza from a gas station! I would rather dunk white bread into spaghetti sauce, then eat this "pizza" ever again. Yuck! read more

Food is awesome. Service is awesome and the guys working inside are very nice. The pizza, the salad. And the chicken and dumplings soup are delicious. My grandpa owned a Papa Kelsey's in Logan Utah a while back and was impressed both ways. read more

Our relatives brought us here while we were visiting. We ordered pastrami, steak and rib sandwiches. My pastrami tasted good and came with sauerkraut and chips. You order at the counter and they bring it out to you. Service was friendly and prompt. We were there right near closing so we didn't linger. read more

Hardly any cheese. The sauce isn't anything spectacular. Top of the crust is burnt to a crisp. I'm not sure how they could let this kind of product go out. Two stars for friendly service. read more

Holy freaking cow, this place is great. It's been here as long as I can remember, but I don't think I've been in over 20 years. For some reason, today when I was passing I stopped in for lunch, and I have to tell you the sandwiches are delicious! The prices are not much more than what you might expect at a national sandwich chain, but the ingredients are top-notch. I mean it, do yourself a favor and add this place to your list. read more

When I lived in Pocatello, I would come here all the time! The bread is amazing! Whenever I'm back in the area I try to come back to Papa Kelsey's for a sub. Yesterday I was so disappointed that I have to share. I drove 30 minutes out of the way because I was craving a turkey sandwich. There was literally 4.5 pieces of turkey on a foot long sub, and hardly any cheese. $12 plus my time and gas for that? Not cool. Mad I didn't realize that until I was back on the freeway so I couldn't complain in person. 2 stars because of the bread and nostalgia. Please do better! read more

Papa Kelseys - "Turkey" sub with hardly any turkey or cheese. - Pizza Near Me - Pocatello, Idaho

This place has gone so downhill. My sandwich tonight, as well as the past few times, was the most pitiful excuse for a sandwich I've ever seen. I got a veggie sub, which basically ended up being two crusts of bread (98% of the sandwich itself), two slices of tomato, a bit of onion, couple strands of green pepper, 2 black olives, and a bit of cheese. A veggie sub should be so jam-packed with veg that you don't even miss having meat. This, however, left much to be desired. It's a massive shame, as my family have frequented this this place since I was a kid -- but now it's just a waste of money. You're better off going to Arby's, which says a lot. read more

I'm a traveling musician with The Extreme Tour and just arrived into town today and wanted to get some pizza. This place was dine in so me and my friend decided to give this place a try. Bought a half Papa Kelsey Large Pizza ($19.99) and a half Hawaiian Pizza ($17.00) and was charged $25. $5.00 more than the most expensive pizza was. "That's just the way the system works" he said after talking to the owner. So they gave us a free cheese bread to make up the difference. read more

Worst pizza I have ever had. Crust was worse than most frozen pizzas (rubbery cardboard), there was barely any sauce, and there was only cheese and pepperoni on about half the pizza. To top it all off, it was way over priced. I was terribly disappointed because I really wanted to support a local restaurant, but I not be getting pizza from here again. read more

Does Papa Kelsey know you're serving frozen tombstone pizzas? At least do it right and serve totino's.

Pizza is good but a bit pricey. $21 for their best delivered. Which means $25 delivered. But it comes with a 1L of pop. read more

Pizzas are so so, but the sandwiches are Awesome! My favorite is the roast beef combo. Chips are small bag. A little pricier than a subway or blimpies, but fresh homemade warm bread can't be beat. Order a whole and take half home! Close to freeway. If you want a little different flavor for subs this is the place. read more

I miss the twin falls and Kimberly Idaho stores, by far the worst in Pocatello have eaten way better subs at the Gaston one they have in twin falls. Horribly ran and I do not like how non friendly they are, please don't think the are all like the Pocatello branch. read more

Fresh ingredients, needed a little more sauce and was a bit simple. But overall was filling and satisfying!

Papa Kelsey's sandwiches are so effing good-- I swear they put crack in them. Fresh baked bread, fresh ingredients, and locally owned. Toasty, melty, yummy. I no longer live in Pocatello, but when I visit Papa Kelsey's is always on my list of places to go. They should open a location closer to ISU. read more

Delish! I recommend their philly and their Italian sandwiches! Haven't had their pizza yet, but I'm looking forward trying that. Great little whole in the wall! Yum! read more

Had the French Dip hot sandwich. I think the bread was home-made and very tasty. Next time I'm in Pocatello, I'll stop there!

First off, I've grown up in Pocatello and love this place. The food was always delivered hot, great subs, and it's just a Pocatello staple. Food wise , 5/5. With that being said, after tonight, I'm not going back. I ordered 3 subs, and it took them 45 minutes. There was constant yelling in the kitchen. And the older gentleman, who I've assumed is either the owner, general manager, or both, could not control the situation. Part of the problem was that a new girl was training, however, instead of working with her and working together, all I head was how she was a f*** up, and how horrible she was doing from her coworkers. I was appalled. They couldn't keep orders straight and they had even lost another customers order. During all this, I never saw the older gentleman do a thing, not come out and apologize about the orders, not shut the foul mouth co-worker up, and definitely not help the situation by any means. read more

Hopped off the freeway looking for a sandwich. I got the Italian and my husband got a pastami/ham/mozzarella. Both were served hot, the bread was delicious and the cheese was melted perfectly. Overall we really enjoyed them! read more

I'm not sure when you changed your bread, but you need to change it back. It was dry, and the amount of meat and toppings is also much less than in my past orders. We also got a medium pepperoni pizza, which was more like a small and maybe had 2 pieces of pepperoni per slice at best. Very disappointed, won't be returning anytime soon. read more

Just had a steak and cheese sub. I split it with my husband. About a foot long size for around $10! But this is no ordinary Subway style sub. It was very flavorful with melty cheese and sautéed peppers and onions. The bread was homemade (I think.) All of it was delicious. I was going to give it 4 stars because it is hard for me to give anything perfect 5. But I can't think of any reason not to give it 5. We ordered it to go and it was done quickly while we waited there. I recommend Papa Kelsey's. I will be returning to try the pizza. read more

Good heavens that sub was fantastic! This is a sandwich and pizza joint right off the freeway. When I received my steak sandwich I thought the guy was handing me two sandwiches. Great size! Nice and hot and tasted wonderful. I was very impressed with my experience. read more

Subs are delicious! Their bread is what really makes the sub special. I've tried multiple subs and never been disappointed, plus they have a great pickle to the side. They have delicious spicy fries too. Pizza is so so, go for the subs. Moderate price but worth it! Love the Italian and supreme subs! read more

A staple in Pocatello for over 20 years in this location. The Italian Combo Sub is my favorite sandwich in town by far! My wife and I will generally order a full sub and a personal sized pizza to share to keep the cost reasonable. If the sandwiches were less money (full size is $10) then we would eat here more often, but we are never disappointed when we dine at Papa Kelsey's and enjoy that incredible fresh baked sub bread! read more

Four of us stopped into Papa Kelsey's for dinner. We ordered a variety of sandwiches including Steak, Pastrami, and BBQ rib. All were pretty good, my pastrami didn't have a lot of meat, flavor was good but not great. Prices were a bit high for what you get but overall a decent meal. read more
