Traveling through the area & pizza sounds good so put in a delivery order from Papa John's let me say they did not disappoint! We ordered our go to favorites, hubby has the pepperoni with extra sauce & pepperoni with no cheese (dairy allergy) I like the Alfredo sauce, tomatoes, spinach pizza & add grilled chicken, plus some naked chicken wings. As always Papa John's truly knocked it out of the park! Hubby's pizza was amazing, plenty of extra sauce making ordering extra sides of sauce unnecessary but an added bonus. Joesph, our delivery driver was 10 minutes earlier than the estimated delivery time & he was polite & courteous (both on the phone & in person) he called to verify our location since we are in an RV park. I got a vegetable pizza and jalapeno poppers. There were complications when I tried ordering online so I had to call them like 4-5 times and they were nice about it. I ended up ordering over the phone and cancelling my online order. They said the delivery would take about 45 minutes, but it only took about 30. The most recent time I ordered pizza from Papa John's it was very good. The problem is the inconsistency of quality. I also enjoy desserts, especially chocolate. I ordered the brownies along with my pizza, asking them to cook it less than usual. They get very hard if not finished when received. I was told it was not possible. I am new to the area and ordered a pizza for delivery they said it would take an hour it came after 2 hours and was cold they never even called to say they were running late. The second time I gave them a try they said it would be 45 minutes. An hour and a half went by I called and they said they didn't know what happened that they thought the pizza was delivered. Completely rude staff, oblivious to support animals laws. The only reason they are getting a second star is the didn't ruin my order. I walked in with my service animal was immediately was told they didn't allow pets of any kind including service animals. So I left and called in my order from outside. When I called I was answered by someone who With whom I couldn't understand at all and constantly asked me to repeat myself, couldn't get my card number correctly and was completely infuriating to talk to. The quality here has deteriorated since its opening (as is often the case with chain restaurants) but as far as chain pizza goes, it's normally pretty adequate... That said, I recently tried the buffalo chicken pizza and that's why I am writing this review. I'm a huge fan of both buffalo chicken and pizza so you can probably imagine my excitement at trying something that, in my opinion, had incredible potential. Yeah, no. It was a complete letdown. The chicken and buffalo sauce were both all but absent from this pizza. What little chicken there was, was breaded (why not grilled chicken?? blasphemers!) and the breading was soggy, devoid of anything that resembled flavor and nearly inedible. Liars. My last order for a small pizza and 20 wings, with generous tip and delivery charge was around 50 bucks. The pizza was an hour late and cold. I received in my e=mail a survey and I was honest. We ordered a pizza at 5:51 p.m. , I called at around 6:45 and the lady informed me the pizza was 5 minutes away. I called again at 7:10 and the lady said the delivery driver was already back. The driver said since our business was in a plaza he didn't know where to take it and just drove back. We gave him the exact address of our shop in the plaza which is easily located. I don't normally post reviews for places I order delivery from but this is an exception. Pizza was piping hot and loaded with toppings (chicken and bacon). I have experience working for Papa John's in the past. I believe this location is the smallest I have been to and it remains open because of this college town and its convenience for Aggies. On the scale of Poor-Excellent rating, I have always had a poor experience with their deliveries. My first time ordering from them, I had ordered 32 wings and requested for 4 buffalo sauce cups instead of ranch cups. The girl who delivered handed me my food without opening them up to show me and verify with my receipt. This is against the training we have as an employee of PJ's. You must read off the receipt as is and show your customer that the food is all there and in the quality you expect. So I walk inside to first make sure my sauce is correct. I run out telling her she gave me ranch when I ordered for buffalo. Instead of providing the proper customer service she is expected to, she argues it's on the receipt. I ran back in to grab my receipt and knocked on her window before she pulled her car in reverse and told her it stated that I had requested for 4 buffalo sauce. Now understand that PJ is suppose to leave the food items with you if they are wrong. She ask me to return my four ranch cups and wait for her to deliver two more deliveries before I can receive my 4 buffalo sauce cups as requested. So I did. The next time I ordered and had food delivered to work, it was the same female deliverer. She showed up 49 minutes after my order was confirmed online. Once again, not going through proper steps of showing me my pizza, she was about to run off. I told her to wait as I open my box of Large Original Crust Works Pizza with Canadian Bacon, Green Peppers, Spicy Italian Sausage, Mushrooms, Pepperoni, Black Olives, 3 Cheese Blend. What would have happened had I not opened it and made her wait and watch? I would have had to eat a sloppy, folded, messed up pizza. She freaks out, apologizes and calls her store to remake my pizza. Now when you mess up like that, the protocol is you tell your customer to keep the pizza and you will remake and redeliver. She again failed to deliver PJ's excellence standard of customer service and took the pizza with her. I'm starting to question if she does this on purpose, not showing food to customers to avoid these mistakes being blamed on her lack of professional standards and service. Or if it's that she does it on purpose for free food for herself. So now instead of 30-40 minute wait for my food, by the time the second pizza was delivered to me perfectly, it has taken me 70 minutes to wait to eat lunch. I could not enjoy my lunch as I wasted 7 more minutes to call back the location and complain, leaving me 13 minutes to swallow what I can before my work meeting. Now, I call them and complain to one of their male managers about this and he says the next time I order the same exact pizza, PJ will give it to me "quality guarantee" free of charge. This occurred May 11th. So fast forward into June I make the order and said that's what happened and their Burgundy or whatever female store manager provided the worst customer service. I'm starting to think PJ no longer tries to hire the best people to represent them, hence the quality of food and service have gone down so much. Burgundy says she does not see it in her system (which means their employee failed to input a little note in my ordering profile to remind the next staff that my same exact order is to be free next time). I told her the whole story of what happened and she starts saying "I see here that it was clocked out at the time....and clocked back in at this time...". Okay Burgundy, I'm not talking about what time the person clocked in and out of your system because remade pizza would not show up on your system! You guys don't have a way to track orders that had to be remade so how would you know how much longer I had to wait for my food??? I would not call and waste my time telling you what happened and what was promised and what I expect when I can just order food from another restaurant that can deliver to me. She failed as a manager because any other managers at any other locations would understand this is not how Papa John himself would handle the situation (referring to training videos). So the only other step I can take is their feedback on their Corp site. That's what I did. And of course, still no response or further action. So let me go ahead and warn the public to not expect much from this location. If you really want delicious, quality pizza then I suggest you stay away from pizza deliveries in Las Cruces. Or you can always go to the Bataan location. I have never had problems speaking to any of their managers. read more
