My Husband and I sitting outside.

We had a great meal here. Cute little 59's diner restaurant with great food. Service and food were great!

Very cute and kitschy restaurant in Roma Norte. Would recommend for anyone looking hearty and filling dishes while experiencing a real passion project of decor. The employees speak competent English but as always, it's beneficial to know Spanish.

They also have burgers if you are not into potatoes.

Papa guapa is a restaurant with a potatoe theme. The best part is that all of their dishes are named after a famous actress or singer. They have Papa Jones after Lupita Jones, Papa Selena (self explanatory), papaquita la del Barrio, and Papa Minaj to name a few. Each of these dishes comes with either cheese, meat, shrimp, or vegetables. The choices are many and the flavor is everything. You can't go wrong with any of these famous potatoes. They also offer dessert- banana splits, malts, etc. The inside looks like a 50's diner and the servers are dressed in 50's gear. The music is also 50's theme. The service is good and food comes out rather quick. Truly an awesome experience and highly recommended.

Papa Summer (roast beef, mushrooms, cheese, gravy)

This is a potato themed restaurant and I love it. They have all of these baked potatoes named after women with "papa" creatively inserted into the title. I got the Summer (roast beef, mushrooms, cheese, and gravy) and my boyfriend got the Rubio (steak, bacon, cheese, peppers, and onions). They were awesome. Very hearty! My type of food. We also got curly fries and a dipping sauce. I ordered the mayo with roasted garlic but they brought me this weird sauce that tasted like vegetables. I also ordered a Dr. Pepper and my boyfriend got a chocolate-banana malt. The server brought us our curly fries and then our baked potatoes. After that, I asked about our drinks and he finally brought me a can of Dr. Pepper. My boyfriend didn't get his malt until after he had already finished all of his food. The food was great. Great combinations! However, it was pricey and the service kind of sucked. The potatoes were 100+ pesos and the can of soda was 40. I've purchased other imported soda from convenience stores for half of that (or less). Despite all of that, I would totally come back here. I wish there was a restaurant like this in San Diego.
