I've seen recommendations for Papa Clyde's and so finally had to try it for myself. I am certainly glad that I did. The restaurant was clean and bright. The scooper or counter person was helpful in making a selection. There also were a couple of customers that helped me decide too. I was really drawn to the oatmeal as something differen but went with the strawberry shortcake on a sugar cone. Now, normally, I'm a chocolate ice cream kind of girl, but this strawberry cheescake was smooth and creamy and just delicious. There are all kinds of flavors, including chocolate to choose as well as quite a few sugar-free selections. Glad Papa Clyde's was on my radar. My only complaint, they give out punchcards so you can get a special treat and I didn't get mine. But that's OK. It just means I get to go back! read more

The other one is better. The line is backwards, and you can literally stand there for about ten to fifteen minutes before realizing your mistake, since no one will pay you any attention. The employees won't bother to tell you. And I know it sounds crazy, but the ice cream is not as good. The reason I say this is that I went to the other one first, and then still wanted more ice cream, and this one second. And I got the same flavor: Rocky Road. The employees at the 2nd one are generally not as friendly as the other one. I have been to this location many times, and generally avoid it, and this was the only time I was on my way home and didn't feel like driving all the way back to the one on Spring Hill drive. read more

Drove by this place last week and commented on the name, because my Dad's name is Clyde and the grandkids all call him PaPa. So, I mentioned I should take him there when he comes down. My boyfriend was like, oh yeah, that's the best ice cream place! What?!?! You know I love ice cream, and you've known this place has the best, and you haven't taken me there yet? I was shocked how busy it was when we first pulled up. Thinking that was a good sign, it must be good. When we went in, it was a really nice place. Old diner feel with the black and white tiles and red booths. Super cute! Nice and clean. Friendly staff. If you want to taste different flavors they will let you. There were a ton of flavors. Delicious homemade ice cream! They have quarts pre-made in a freezer that you can purchase and take home. Tonight, I had the PB Overload. My boyfriend had a Peanut butter fudge milkshake. AMAZING!!! I was in heaven! I will definitely be going back. So many flavors I want to try. Kahlua, Butter Beer, Maple Walnut, Orange Pineapple, Chocolate Raspberry, Strawberry Cheesecake and Banana Pudding just to name a few. We have been here a couple of times. The location is easy to get to with a parking lot. The location has a old time ice parlor feel to it which is great! We are always greeted immediately upon arrival. The ice cream is great! They have so many flavors! We also like to hit the freezer for a quart, frozen bananas or ice cream sandwiches.
