I've seen recommendations for Papa Clyde's and so finally had to try it for myself. I am certainly glad that I did. The restaurant was clean and bright. The scooper or counter person was helpful in making a selection. There also were a couple of customers that helped me decide too. I was really drawn to the oatmeal as something differen but went with the strawberry shortcake on a sugar cone. Now, normally, I'm a chocolate ice cream kind of girl, but this strawberry cheescake was smooth and creamy and just delicious. There are all kinds of flavors, including chocolate to choose as well as quite a few sugar-free selections. Glad Papa Clyde's was on my radar. My only complaint, they give out punchcards so you can get a special treat and I didn't get mine. But that's OK. It just means I get to go back! read more

Great ice cream here. The two locations here in Spring Hill are the best homemade ice cream joints. I had my first egg cream here. I was a little skeptical, but I loved it. The clerks are very friendly., Get yourself a good old ice cream cone. read more

Where has this place been all my life?!? Great ice cream choices, amazing quality, and super friendly help behind the counter all make a return visit guaranteed! Next time it won't be on a rainy night so we can take our purchases outside. While the bleach smell inside does make one think it's clean, the smell makes staying inside unpleasant. read more

Papa Clyde's Too - The sign for Papa Clyde's ice-cream. - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Spring Hill, Florida

really good ice cream joint in the middle of Spring Hill. Friendly and responsive staff. Ambience is traditional ice cream shop, basic but who cares. It's what is in the freezers that matter. read more

Drove by this place last week and commented on the name, because my Dad's name is Clyde and the grandkids all call him PaPa. So, I mentioned I should take him there when he comes down. My boyfriend was like, oh yeah, that's the best ice cream place! What?!?! You know I love ice cream, and you've known this place has the best, and you haven't taken me there yet? I was only halfway kidding when I told him I was a little disappointed about that. LOL So after me having a rough day, he took me there for a little treat to cheer me up tonight. I was shocked how busy it was when we first pulled up. Thinking that was a good sign, it must be good. When we went in, it was a really nice place. Old diner feel with the black and white tiles and red booths. Super cute! Nice and clean. Friendly staff. If you want to taste different flavors they will let you. There were a ton of flavors. Delicious homemade ice cream! They have quarts pre-made in a freezer that you can purchase and take home. Tonight, I had the PB Overload. My boyfriend had a Peanut butter fudge milkshake. AMAZING!!! I was in heaven! I will definitely be going back. So many flavors I want to try. Kahlua, Butter Beer, Maple Walnut, Orange Pineapple, Chocolate Raspberry, Strawberry Cheesecake and Banana Pudding just to name a few. If you haven't tried this place and you are in Spring Hill or surrounding area, it is a MUST TRY! read more

Papa Clyde's Too - PB Overload - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Spring Hill, Florida

The other one is better. The line is backwards, and you can literally stand there for about ten to fifteen minutes before realizing your mistake, since no one will pay you any attention. The employees won't bother to tell you. And I know it sounds crazy, but the ice cream is not as good. The reason I say this is that I went to the other one first, and then still wanted more ice cream, and this one second. And I got the same flavor: Rocky Road. The employees at the 2nd one are generally not as friendly as the other one. I have been to this location many times, and generally avoid it, and this was the only time I was on my way home and didn't feel like driving all the way back to the one on Spring Hill drive. read more

I had heard good reviews about Papa Clyde. I've been here a number of times and tried a variety of flavors. What is not too like ? Homemade ice cream beautifully creamy in lots of flavors . Service is always friendly and helpful . Will gladly offer a sample if you can't decide. Not huge to eat inside but table outside or get a quart to go . Don't forget to ask for your papa cards so if you buy 10? Quarts you get one free . Same with cone card but not sure how many you have to buy ! Summer is for ice cream and PapaClydes is a can't miss treat read more

My friends and I came here to treat ourselves after a long day. Staff was very friendly, let us sample flavors, and shared flavor recommendations with us. There were a variety of flavors of ice cream and non-dairy options to choose from!! I went with the peanut butter overload, which I heard was a popular flavor among customers and rightly so! If you are a peanut butter fan, this is the flavor for you! The ice cream shop itself is cute and offers both indoor and outdoor seating. They also provide split scoops if you have a hard time just picking one flavor. read more

We love both locations of Papa Clyde. This one has a more updated and upbeat feel to it though. I love the Kahlua flavor ice cream, it's worth the little up charge. From scooped ice cream to banana splits, they have a great selection of dessert options for you. Still need to try their milkshakes and malts but I'm pretty sure it will be amazing too. read more

I love Papa Clyde's. I have been coming here ever since I was five years old. Not being from America, this place makes me feel like home. I love their ice cream and all the decorations they have and the ambiance and vibes I feel when I come in here. Nice selection of ice cream. Good quality. Friendly, accommodating staff. The prices are becoming its only drawback. I understand rising costs, but at some point a half gallon of a good brand from the grocery store is looking like the better choice. read more

Good ice cream and reasonable prices. I loved the peanut butter fudge ice cream (forgot the name) and paired it with chocolate. My youngest son loved his kids blue moon. And my older son likes his brownie batter and fudge ripple. My aunt tried the mint chocolate chip and cookie dough on a sugar cone. My cousin liked her birthday cake and cookie dough scoops. What a gem nearby my aunt's house read more

We have been here a couple of times. The location is easy to get to with a parking lot. The location has a old time ice parlor feel to it which is great! We are always greeted immediately upon arrival. The ice cream is great! They have so many flavors! We also like to hit the freezer for a quart, frozen bananas or ice cream sandwiches. We do highly recommend this place, great place to take the kiddos for a treat! read more

I'm 'Baskin' in the glow of some great ice cream, so don't be 'Robbin' me of that pleasure. You don't have to 'Twistee' my arm to get me to love these 'Treats'! I like my 'Dairy' like a 'Queen' likes her crown. Haha! If I got your attention, then good! What I'm trying to say is this.....Great REAL ice cream, none of that 10% ice cream MIX stuff here. Look at all those delectable flavors beckoning from the deep within that icy cooler... just one dip please...oh, okay, give me three! This was our first visit, BFF(Bodaciously Fine Fiancée) and me, and we loved it! When we arrived the place was pretty full, and that was at 8 pm! Lots of happy faces, slightly smeared with ice cream moustaches...Excellent! At first, service felt a little slow, we weren't greeted right away. That was okay, because the two guys working were actually 'working'! They were putting out the treats faster than a Halloween candy factory. Once it was our turn, it was service with a smile. The young man helping us was very proficient, patient and polite. I chose the Chocolate fantasy ice cream mixed with marshmallow, bon bon and other goodies, as a Hot Fudge Sundae. Add a little nuts, whipped cream and a cherry and I'm in crazy for ice cream land.... BFF ordered the Chocolate Raspberry Hot Fudge Sundae. She gets this look on her face when she's content and happy. I know that look! She had THAT look ! She loved her choice.... We both asked the guy "Is this a small?", and he answered "Yes!" - the cup sizes are bigger than most places. For the price we paid, this is a terrific value. So, what do we have here? Excellent real ice cream, large portions, decent prices and very friendly service! Forget those other ice cream mix places, head for Papa Clydes! Tell them I sent ya, and they'll give ya a free water......from the water fountain.... read more
