This is my favorite pizza in the entire state of Michigan. My rec is to get a pizza with double cheese and pepperoni with breadsticks and cream cheese dip. Is my order basic? Yes. Hands down the best Detroit style pizza I've had. Probably the 7th time I've had pizza from here. Both round and square pizzas are great. Square is true Detroit style. Affordable prices and great to support a small local family owned business. My family and I have lived in the Ortonville area for 15 years. Papa Bella's is awesome pizza for a great value! Both the round and Detroit style are super good! There isn't a better value for your money around. What I just ordered would have cost double at another pizza place named after aeroplane engines. The only thing I would change is fresh mushrooms instead of canned! They also employ local teenagers, that warms my heart as my first job was at a local privately owned non franchised pizza place. Tried Papa Bella's for the first time tonight after the restaurant generously provided a tour and free pizza to my daughter's kindergarten class. She raved about the pizza! I really enjoyed the pizza and the experience. The owner even helped me carry everything to my car. I love this type of small town small business touch. They clearly use fresh ingredients because you see cases of lettuce, etc. when you order a salad, it is a generous size and it has all been cut fresh - not the pr- made salad mixes that I can buy at Meijer. The dressing tasted homemade and the greek was perfectly proportioned with toppings and cheese, etc. We liked our pizza a lot! You buy 2 pizzas at a time here which works great for our family! The bread was delicious and not greasy. The mushrooms were fresh, not canned. The pepperoni was the thick yummy kind. We will be getting pizza from Papa Bella's again and again! Delicious. My advice to you if you are passing through town since PB has no tables - carry your food around back to the lovely shaded city park / playground and eat under the pavilion while the kids run around on the enclosed playground. I'm from Seattle, WA and my husband took me to his home state of Michigan. One of the things he wanted me to try was Papa Bellas' because "it's probably the best pizza you'll ever have." So far, it's true! My husband worked here as a teenager and knows the amount of detail Joe and Mark (owners) put into the ingredients and recipes. Every time we come back to visit his family, this is the first place we eat at! My favorite is a square pepperoni pizza with extra square sauce on the side, but I love the BLT, too. I wish we lived closer so I could try more of the menu items! read more

Update: we ordered again and there was a great improvement with the phone service & they got the order correct. Thank you! Food is amazing but delivery & phone service is AWFUL. Tonight is the second time they forgot our salad dressing (even after reminding them about forgetting it last time). They also had to credit our account last time bc they forgot breadsticks as well. The girl that took our order tonight was clearly annoyed and didn't want to be working, which is unprofessional & rude, which is unfortunately the norm when placing orders. We'll still order bc pizza delivery options are limited & the food is that good, but moving forward we'll be having them drive forgotten items back to our house. PBP beats all franchised pizzas. For us, it's between the specials (super specials get a few more toppings), veggies, and hawaiian (with extra pineapple)... Their fresh tomato paste/sauce may take a little to get used to at first, if you are used to franchised pizza sauces. Now I don't bother looking anywhere else for pizzas. read more
