Today I bought a tri tip -- @ $15/lb. I thought I was getting a 3.5 pound tri tip @ $51.50. However, when I weighed it at home, the tri tip it was only 2.3 pounds. The marinade was 18 ounces!... so paid approximately $17 - a third of my cost - for something I couldn't use. The TRUE cost of the tri tip was approx. $25 a pound. So I paid almost $20 for marinade which you can't really use... I have never had this issue before -- with such a copious amount of liquid.
