They have a robust menu of breakfast and lunch items, and everything we had was very tasty. My bestie did the French Toast with Belgian chocolate drops and whipped cream, which was a sugar bomb, but totally worth it in the end. I wanted to try little of everything, so I did the Canadian platter, which had veg bacon, pancakes, home fries, and scramble (I opted for tofu, but you can do eggs, too). It was all delicious, as was the coffee they freshly brewed and served in cute little mugs. (Mine had chickens on it!) I did subtract a star because the service was not the best. We had our drink order taken by someone else who stopped working the outside tables, and after waiting a really long time for our drinks, we just checked to make sure the order was communicated in the change of servers. The new server got very upset and told us there were 30 people and things took time. Considering the drinks came very quickly after - and with our food - I think there had been a mixup, and I didn't love how it was put back on us. It was also a mad hassle to get our check, but whatever... the food was awesome!

Sure, pancakes and other dishes would be a little more tasty and fluffier had they been made with butter and eggs, but it's good food, considering it's all vegan / vegetarian. More than generous portions. But the wait .... we waited a long time for our drinks, and literally over an hour for our food to arrive. It's a nice place to have a conversation with friends, but not fun when you notice that conversation has become one of waiting and sharing restaurant mess-up stories. Looking at other reviews, this seems to be a recurring theme; won't come back I think.

A little old school but I can respect it. We came in and filled the last table-the place was already so lively at 6:30 on a Sunday (Mother's Day). They have English menus and were (of course) offering an asparagus specialty menu. We went with a couple beers, a shandy, a Schnitzel, mixed fish plate and the whole fish. Everything was so delicious and we could see the singular chef working and the singular woman wait all the tables. The only thing was that the shandy was actually made on site, with sprite and beer from tap. It was an interesting flavor. Would recommend this to anyone to get Hamburg classics!

Not knowing where to go on Easter weekend while traveling through Hannover, we found Pfannkuchen…read moreHaus on Yelp and tried it out. We came right at opening (530p) and there was already a line of a few people waiting for it to open. (So you should probably expect a line if you come much later). The atmosphere and decor are the first things you notice. It's a dark wood, quirky knick-knack, very bavarian type feel. I personally wouldn't call it 'authentic' german, but it's at least stereotypical and fun! They have an English and a German menu which was helpful. You'll see there are 25+ types of pfannkuchen--hence the name. Each one seems to be themed for a different world culture, but the essence is the same: a fried piece of breading (similar to a thin pancake or thick crepe) folded in half and filled with different ingredients. I know that normally pfannkuchen is a sweet pastry, but these were only slightly sweet. We got the Munich pfannkuchen which was stuffed (really...) with sauerkraut and some meat. It was really good but I just cannot handle sauerkraut after a point, so I could only eat about 3/5 of it. Still good, but you'd better really like sauerkraut! We also got the combo-pfannkuchen (forgot the name), which included a creamy sauce and some meat along with some other stuff. I personally liked this one better -- especially because it comes with a really good fruit ice cream dessert! The prices I felt were fair for what you get, but I can't speak for dishes other than the pfannkuchen. I took off a star because there was literally 1 single waitress working the entire restaurant! Talk about torcher... she did her best but she forgot about our dessert and it took 15 minutes to flag her down. Not her fault, but I think they need to hire a second worker to improve this. Overall: Definitely a good and fun place for tourists to try out! Hard to say how traditional it is, but it must be at least a little? It's a moderate walking distance form the main shopping area but very doable. I'd recommend trying it out for travelers passing through hannover!
