My cousin who lives in Mexico city was the first to introduce us to this place since we were younger and have always gone back... They are famously known for their Tortas being so big... The last time we went we were feeling brave and ordered Their speciality which is a 3lb Torta that pretty much has every meat and cheese they offer at the restaurant... The torta is so big we couldn't even eat half of it between 2 people... It was really good so if you want a Torta that has more than a Cubana you definitely need to try their speciality Torta just bring a huge appetite or help.. Lol I've also tried their regular smaller Tortas and they have all been really good... I have been coming here for years so everytime I come I try to order something different...The Al pastor Torta and Milanesa are my top favorite, They also have their version of a Cubana which is also pretty big... They also give you a side of jalapeños with your order so if you want more you can ask for extra... Overall this is hands down my favorite Torta place by La Villa, its a far walk so you would have to get an uber or taxi to get there... In terms of the ambience, I would say that it's pretty average compared to most other places. I really wanted to include french fries with that torta, but I wasn't sure what kind of deep fry oil or grease they were using. I've been more in tune about eating healthy these days. The torta sandwich was at least 8" and not small by comparison to what I would find in my home country. All in all, a great fast lunch!

My saucy porky torta was kind of a mess to eat but it's worth the mess. The salsas that come are excellent and quite hot. Maybe addictively so. I'd definitely go back on a subsequent trip to CDMX.

I had tried Mamay last year and I loved it, and lucky for me the Mamay fruit drink is something that they offer here. They prepare it with agua or leche, and I chose the leche option just because I thought that it would taste better. The person who helped me Maria Eugenia makes this place great. She prepared an entire pitcher full of the Maay fruit drink for me, not just the glass. I also ordered a small fruit plate which consisted of papaya, pina, sandia, melón, and plantain. The frutaria is a large space and there are plenty of seating options. It is a really cool place in el centro.

My corn muffin was ok., it was moist, dense, and had real pieces of corn in it. I tried some of my friend's raspberry baguette it was also pretty good. Dense baguette and tasty dried raspberry's and some nuts maybe walnuts? My other friend got some bread thing with sugar on top. It was a bit dry and not very buttery. I didn't care for that one. There was a whole gambit of baked goods to choose from, donuts, bread, cakes, pastries, even sandwiches. We tried asking what they were known for, no one seemed to know. So I guess there's no specialty. Prices were very reasonable around 15-22 pesos maybe some were more depending on what you chose. I found it to be a good Mexican bakery but not as refined as a French bakery. I guess you gotta find what's good and what you like. Unfortunately I didn't find that item yet.
