Since we were unfamiliar with the terrain, and really just wanted to maximise our time actually climbing, rather than dealing with setting up routes, we opted to hire a professional guide. My friend, Rebecca, had spent a significant amount of time researching and comparing all the different guide services in the area, before selecting James. We were not disappointed! James was thoroughly courteous, professional and accommodating from the get-go, and provided us with a climbing experience that was customised to our respective skill levels and interests. My friend, Lisa, who was new to outdoor climbing, was extremely nervous and anxious when we first started. James was unendingly patient with her, and literally talked her through each and every climb no matter how long it took. We ran over our allotted time on the first day, but James wouldn't even hear of accepting extra payment. By the end of the second day, Lisa had "found her feet," thanks in no small part to James' coaching and encouragement, and was tackling her climbs with utmost confidence. In short, James truly went above and beyond to make our Mount Lemmon climbing experience one to remember. Highly recommend!
