I'll start by saying that our toddler is in little kickers and I play in the adult league. After…read morethese incidents, we will no longer be returning to either. I'm not one to complain during a normal physical game of soccer, nor am I one to leave bad reviews anywhere, so this should tell you how upset I am. A few times now physical fights have broken out in the adult league due to the refs not doing anything when players are playing waaaay too aggressively. There's a couple of "adults" in these teams that it seems like are just there to fight. They're pushing and shoving in a very uncalled for manner and some of these players have even yelled out rasist comments. All of this with the refs listening, watching and not doing anyyything. So ofcourse physical fights have broken out. All of this with many many kids, including our toddler there watching. Since of course this is supposed to be a family friendly place. This is so unacceptable. The fact that Maracana has not kicked these "adults" out of their leagues really tells you where their priorities are at. There's plenty of other adult and kid leagues in Tucson that have much better management. Please save yourself the money and look elsewhere.

He would literally get upset when I picked him up because he wanted to stay longer (there are options for a extended care, but I did not choose it.) It wasn't a huge camp, which we liked since my son has felt overwhelmed at other places with 50+ kids. The kids had a chance to get to know everyone in the group. They had 2-3 adult coaches and they changed out activities between soccer, batting, dodgeball, frisbee, basketball, bouncing house, tug of war and many other games and active activities. At lunch, they had a chance to chill and watch a movie and on Friday they had a pizza party. Coach Mladen works really well with kids. He encourages them while also giving them choices and options to chill. The other coaches are all awesome and have enough energy to keep the children engaged all day. I really like this is a local business and they make you feel like family. They're also sharing some space with a brewery that will eventually become a restaurant so that will present different opportunities. As an aside, they have kids soccer and adult soccer at different times so we're exploring that option now. My son has already asked when he can come back to camp so we will definitely be back!

It was super busy on a Saturday late afternoon (understandably). It was a little dirty but not terrible. I've worked with kids of all ages for years so I'm not like overly irked by kids behavior but wow they were wild, terrible language, breaking apart a tree and swinging a giant branch around, overall just playing rough with no regard to other kids trying to play. Maybe just not a good place to take a toddler or might just be the specific day we went. But don't think I'd be back for that reason.

In memory &unity 3 miles around the golf course . What a multipurpose recreation area in the heart of our community . Historic baseball park , other baseball fields were having games . The zoo going through major expansion was busy too. A large pond with ducks and other birds . ( don't feed them bread the sign said ). A small train was running from the zoo around the duck pond area. Several newer playgrounds along with ramadas and tables for your private use with reservations . East side has 2 golf courses , tennis courts , recreation building with gym , various classes , and also a therapeutic outdoor pool for people with special needs" ( respectfully if that's the best description). How lucky are we to have this community recreational space !

I've been trying to visit more of the city parks around Tucson in the past few months and found…read morethat Menlo Park was pretty run-of-the-mill. They have some pieces of exercise equipment available for citizens to use, a soccer field with goals, and a few concrete basketball courts. The park definitely looks a little older and not too well maintained, but yoy can tell that it gets a decent amount of use from the surrounding community. Menlo Park could use a little extra TLC from the Tucson Parks and Recreation Department (and a few more benches) to make it a little more hospitable, but it certainly isn't the worst place to have picnic or a family soccer game.
