Brand new and an open concept interior. Unfortunately I'm not a fan of the super bright open interior and prefer the older designs where there's more interior walls that provide noise cancellation. I've been here 3 times at various points in the day and they are always out of something or forget something. For example, the bread bowls for soup are either out or they do not give it to me and it's a hassle for me to head back if I order through drive through. Portion sizes are also small here compared to other Panera's. Small salads and little protein in sandwiches. I don't plan on coming by back to this location anymore. read more

very pleasant and bright newer Panera. There are about 30 indoor seats and maybe 20 outside on the patio. There is a drive though. To get there you have to drive to the end of the building that Panera is not on. Then you must go to the back. They have good sinage for that, and it's much easier than it sounds. The tables were all clean. The floor was also spotless and dustless. Service was a little slow on this Friday Morrning at about 10:30 AM. The sound level averaged 55 Db. The sound level is decribed as moderate. It falls between a quiet libary and moderate conversation. The food at one Panera varies little from one to another. They post the caloric content on the menu boards. The food is not laden with fats, salts, and sugars, yet i manages to taste very good. You can order via the person at the counter, but no one person is dedicated to it. This can cause a delay. There are terminals you can order from (arduous) or ahead on the app, then pick it up (fastest) The Panera Experience has been very good overall. You can join their loyalty club and save yourself some money if you do so, and do so at the right time. You can also get promotional items, such as a free cookie or bagel, or one or two dollars off, for example, an entree. In a world of fat laden, overly large portions, Panera is a nice break, consistently very good. read more

This is a relatively new Panera Bread location. It is conveniently located on Scottsdale Road and Thompson Peak. The place is clean and employees are very welcoming. There are several tables with chairs and high tops with chairs. The menu offers many choices of sandwiches, salads and soups along with many treats. You can dine inside, outside or use the drive thru. Once ordered or using their kiosk, a pager will be issued to you. When your order is complete, the pager will go off and your meal is ready for pick up. We ordered the Fuji apple chicken salad and a chicken Caesar salad. You also have a choice of a baguette, fresh cut apples or chips. We both choose apples. Our orders were quickly made. The food is fresh and good. The chicken was plentiful. The salad dressing was light and slightly sweet. There is a nice employee that offered to bus our trays. A nice luncheon with fresh food and pleasant employees. Shared parking lot. read more

Lunch is great here, however my breakfast sandwich tasted like it had concrete on it super dusty tasting. Don't eat breakfast here.

I just visited the new Panera location at Scottsdale rd and Thompson peak and was extremely disappointed with new style interior. Instead of the traditional warm lighting and earth tones. The new style is sterile and lit up light an operating room. Not inviting or relaxing at all!!!! No desire to ever come back. read more

The food was scarce, two tiny pieces of chicken and two small bacons. Tasted weak not hardy which was disappointing. Several workers standing around with the manager, looked she wasn't sure what to do with them. when bagging they put hot with cold food. Very disappointing. Restaurant was nice but those workers could have cleaned off tables. There are too many nice places to eat , they probably need to step up their game. read more

Great NEW PANERA location in North Scottsdale! Not very busy during morning/late morning hours. BUT it is nice and quiet. Very clean and kept up location. I do however feel that you get a great view of the parking lot. Hopefully more retail will move into this newly developed area. 1. The setup of this location is ridiculous. We ordered in advance for the pickup one but that's also the order lane so we waited ten minutes after our sandwich was done; there should be a parking area for orders that take a while like EVERY OTHER DRIVE THRU ON THE PLANET 2. I ordered a sandwich and changed the bread to a bagel. The gal working the window told me that I selected a bagel but "didn't remove" the original bread. Stopped in here the other day for lunch, I had not eaten at a Panera's over 10 years. The one I ate at often was fantastic, a variety of really good soups, a huge selection of breads for purchase, great sandwiches. This new location had very little and looked more like an institutional cafeteria. Our chile was lukewarm and I overheard another woman also complain her soup wasn't very hot and she was directed to a microwave and that she could use that. Really poor! The creamy potato soup was blah, tasted like canned soup. The Italian beef sandwiches had very little beef. We could not recommend this Panera's and not sure if the whole company has gone down hill so much. Also, there were lots of dirty dishes and bowls that had been placed by the trash can all stacked up. They may have been short staffed. The AC was on and it was freezing, as it was colder inside than outside that day. I mentioned it to a man working behind the counter and he just said, "yes, I've been cold all day". Duh? read more

Have been to this location a few times since it opened. It is near Thompson Peak Parkway and is convenient because there is not much else in this area. The food has been fine but eating inside the restaurant leaves a lot to be desired. They only have 3 of the self serve kiosks and there often has not been anyone at the counter to take an order. I used the kiosk which works fine but then there is nowhere to get a drink cup. They have dispensers over by the drinks but they are not using them. You have to go to the counter and ask for a cup. When doing this they act like you are wanting to steal a drink. Last time I was there the guy had to go all the way in the back and confirm my order before he would give me the drink cup. Really?? Also, this location even though brand new is usually dirty and not well kept. Stacks of dishes at the garbage, tables not wiped off or food sitting around, stuff all over the floors. read more
