Here's the good: I'm a monthly Sip club member. I visit Panera locations as much or more than most, albeit not typically this location. I have a simple palette, and love sandwiches and soups, so Panera and I work well together. The bad: today I ordered a Chili Bread bowl, a cookie and a drink. When the order was presented, the chili only filled about 1/3 of the bread bowl cutout. I immediately asked the lady overseeing orders if she minding looking at it. She tried to assure me that it was correct, but here's the deal...when it appears the customer was shortchanged AND the website pics only confirm something isn't correct, there's an issue. The ugly: if a customer has enough concern to bring this to staff attention, they definitely shouldn't be quickly dismissed and made to think subpar Panera dishes are the norm. Love the new location. Best is the drive through. In these times all restaurants should build a drive up window and have a covered drop off entrance. The new seating is open and clean. They give you a buzzer that you sit on a plate on table. Your order will be brought to you. I enjoy seeing all the pastries before you order in line. I had what was being advertised on the wall. A bbq chicken sandwich with onion soup. Very good! The bread was soft and yum. Soup had loads of onions, cheese and bread croutons. So would be 5 star but price seems high for amount of food. Another thing is when I ordered I was asked if have club card. No , but as walking away , wanted to know why she didn't offer me one. I had to ask a lady cleaning by me and she went and got me one to register with. Now the DrPepper seemed like it needed more syrup added. It's hard to find really good fountain drinks. Went to dinner tonight at Panera Bread in Mid West City. As we walked, blocking the main isle was two ladies with two small boys. The small boy was prob 4-5, the other 10-12. First thing we noticed the boys were playing fighting and SCREAMING. They made no attempt to move out of the isle, we had to walk around them as they were oblivious to the conduct of the boys and anything other than their conversation! When we ordered, they were so loud the cashier got our order wrong. This continued well after we got our order. I love little kids, but zero patience for parents that do not insist on behavior! The staff should have asked them to control the boys or take it outside. It was all I could do to keep my mouth shut. Not my first choice, attending with couples group. When we arrived cashier toook order rarely quickly. He was very polite but the menu is confusing, it states pick 2 $6.59, ordered soup and half salad, hubby ordered half sandwich and soup...ticket $24.89. I didnt understand and he couldn't explain. We just paid and expected a great meal. Food took some time to receive and the portions were very small. I'm trying not to eat bread and I managed to bypass the bread but left satisfied but hungry. Service was great ! But then when there are less then a hand full of people in there, why wouldn't service be anything but great? The food was a whole nothing!!! It's obvious that the Baker doesn't eat their own pastries as they are overly packed with sugar. Yes pastries however the abundance of sugar make them almost uneatable. Don't order anything with avocado. They have no problem giving you the most rotten avocado on your breakfast sandwich every single time. Was excited to see the new building that just opened across from the old location (attached to Navy Federal). To be honest I'm let down quite a bit. Unless you really wanted The addition of a drive through everything else seems to be a down grade. I used to rely on Panera for a good place to study and write. Now it feels like I'm sitting in a McDonalds. The chairs and tables are really uncomfortable and their is half the seating with no divider walls to dampen the noise. What's not to love about Panera? They have awesome bagels (my favorites are cinnamon crunch and chocolate chip), hazelnut cream cheese, tons of fresh bread and SCRUMPTIOUS pastries! I'll admit that weekdays, the lunch rush is always chaotic but it's because EVERYBODY loves Panera. Their sandwiches are so good. I always get the pick 2. I select a half sandwich and a cup of soup (BROCCOLI CHEDDAR! Sooooo good! You can find it at Target, Walmart, etc but I prefer ordering it @ Panera. The seating/indoor dining areas are cozy and comfortable. I like that most locations have a little fireplace of some sort. Oh and I almost forgot the coffee! The Hazelnut coffee smells sooo good and seems like a light roast which equals high levels of caffeine to start your day! I've always loved Panera so I've only got good things to say. It doesn't take much to wipe chairs and tables off, so I can only assume it's a Tinker AFB lunch staple getting lazy. This location has really gone downhill. Often I try to get my morning energy drink before work only to find the doors locked and I don't have time to wait in the long drive thru line. Since Panera's took away my favorite energy drink - Fugi Apple and replaced it with the God awful Blood Orange I have to settle with the Strawberry Mint which is frequently out in this location. Today I ordered a chocolate croissant and found a Pecan Braid in my bag when I got home. I don't eat nuts. (As a customer, you better check every order you get here. I thought I'd have a nice quick dinner but I was in for a major disappointment. Let's start with the food. I got the pick two. Cuban sandwich and strawberry caprese salad. My sandwich was cold by the time I got it and the salad was soggy. It had been sitting on the counter waiting to be brought to my table for some time. The girl that was bringing out the food was "very confused". Tried to deliver several meals to the wrong tables. Now let's talk about the dining area. Dirty tables everywhere and customers clearing tables so they could sit down. All the while employees just standing by the cash registers having a gabfest. As I left and went to dispose of my trash and there wasn't anywhere to put the dishes they were stacked so tall. Overall grade "F". I expected so much more. Check your salads! At the nw expressway location I found a dead fly in my quinoa salad. At the Midwest city location I bit into a yellow piece of glass from one of their dishes. In the past I found hair in a pasta dish. The manager at the nw expressway location apologized and replaced my salad since I was eating it in the restaurant, but I took it home for later since my appetite was lost. I called the Midwest city location since I ordered the salad to go and he offered gift certificates, but I decided I'd had enough. You really can't go wrong with panera bread no matter where it is located. I usually go to the one in south okc but I work around here and I decided to come. The Plaza is weird but panera bread seems to face the highway. I tried the avocado turkey sandwich and it was good but it wasn't very stable. The moment I lifted it up everything pretty much fell apart so I just ate with a fork. I also got the Caesar salad and while it is good the dressing was way too much especially since I had asked for light on the dressing. This place has much more seating availability which was a plus. The employees here are very friendly much more than the one I usually go too. I'm glad there is a panera nearby since I am pretty much a fan of every thing on their menu! read more
