This was the perfect place for a quick morning chat with a good friend of mine. We were able to drink our tea and catch up and the refills were of course excellent. The people are friendly and everyone minds their business. I enjoyed being able to order using my phone and have a contactless experience. It was perfect for my quiet morning with my friend. Panera is not my top choice, but my daughter absolutely loves their Broccoli soup. We stopped in for an early dinner with wife, daughter, and my daughter's friend. We used the handy kiosk to order our food, which was pretty simple. My daughter got her usual Broccoli Soup with a baguette. Her friend ordered a tomato basil BLT. My wife ordered a half tomato basil BLT with French onion soup. I ordered the ciabatta cheese steak sandwich and corn chowder. When our name was called we went to the window to pick up our dishes. As we got to the table we all sorted out our dishes. The kids started to eat and all of mine appeared to be there. My wife, however, found no bacon in her BLT. I checked the receipt to make sure we didn't mess up the order. My wife grabbed her plate and headed back up to the window. When she got to the window she told the lady behind the counter that her BLT was missing bacon. She replied, "oh yeah, we ran out of bacon". My wife asked them to make something different. The worker asked if she could just have one with no bacon. In the end, my wife ended up with a ham sandwich What a disappointment. We paid $47 after a $2 off reward. The food was ok. Please read! First of all, the atmosphere was calm, not too hectic. I usually order on the screen near the drinks so I don't talk to the people much. But when I did to get my drink from the front counter person, he didn't seem rude at all, he gave me the cup and that was that. The moment I set my bags after getting my drink, my food was ready, warm and creamy. Personally, I didn't mind if the two girls there were talking, there was hardly anybody, that doesn't leave a lot for them to do, but they weren't rude and informative. You get your food and go. Also, noting the entrance and greeting, walking in its kind of hard for the front worker to see you if they're taking orders or not in sight. There's also no door bell so I didn't expect them to know. I read most of reviews and some are busy, but overall I liked this place. It's different for different people, but on Friday? It's good. I see I reviewed this place 3 months ago. I went again recently, time to lower it to a one star! Staff friendly, plenty on the back counter prepping food. Though it seems they take priority of drive thru over the in store customers. Slow as molasses though, make sure you're not in a time crunch when you're here, a mistake I made a few times (including when I just ordered a drink! A cup they just put on the counter and I fill myself!). I still hate the enterance and exit of this panera. It's designed poorly and still not enough parking spots. Good thing the mall is next door you can use parking there, but a lot is still taken by the mall restaurants right next door. I would suggest other Paneras to visit, there's plenty in the area By the way, frozen bread and bakery. They closed the fresh baked dough facility in metro Detroit, now it's all frozen. You're paying the same, if not more, than previous times for worse quality. And yes, you can taste the frozen-ness and it compares insanely worse than what it has been before. Panera? No pan anymore! For some reason when you buy a loaf of bread, they tie the bags in knots now instead of using twist ties. How does this help anyone? Do they automatically assume that you only need a bag for one time use? Do they think that I eat the entire loaf at one sitting? The one time I went there, the girl put two loaves of bread in the same bag and tied a knot in it. The second time, the gentleman sliced my bread and threw it in the bag one slice at a time- I had random pieces of bread in an oversized bag with a knot in it. Last time I went it was the same thing. It is amazing how deeply incompetent this place is. Picking up your coffee inside can be a struggle. Often times, they're out of coffee and you're left standing there looking for someone to ask for more except there's only one person working at the front and he's not always there. They won't put out the beverage plugs if you're picking up your coffee inside because they can't be bothered. (They'll only give you one if you're going through the drive-thru.) Oh? The drive thru? Often times they'll try to give you the wrong order. On the mornings I simply order my coffee? They'll give you the wrong type. (Black dark roast somehow become hazelnut with cream). For work functions, we've ordered bagel and cream cheese spreads. Bagels haven't been sliced. Cream cheese hasn't been included (though we've paid for them) and someone has to be sent back. They haven't bothered to include any napkins or plasticware. So I'm done. I'm so very very done with this location. I am sympathetic to the current struggles with problems of understaffing and supply problems, but these problems aren't related to those, they're a reflection of very poor management. If you're thinking to come here because of convenience- Honestly, don't bother. You will save more time driving to the Haggerty location than you will trying to get this place to complete the most basic order. read more

I am just not having any luck with this Panera outpost. And I should have paid heed to the very few cars in the parking lot. It still does not seem as if this location has figured out its operations. This time around, I went through drive-through for a quick breakfast. Unfortunately, even though I was picking up a pastry and a cookie (yes, a cookie for breakfast), it took a while to get my food and to pay for it. The wait was so long I thought I was at the wrong window but when I inquired, I was told there was only one. The brittany with cherries and cheese was delicious. A brittany is also known as a kouign amann, made from laminated dough (ex. croissant) and sanded with a thick layer of sugar. The ones at Panera contain creamy cheese filling (like those found in a cheese Danish) and are topped with tart cherries in a syrupy sauce. The cocoa and cream cookie is similar to a gourmet Oreo. Two crisp, chocolate-flavored biscuits with a layer of vanilla creme in between. It was small but wonderful. Service was dishearteningly slow. It'll probably be months before I visit again - unless they sell hot cross buns, that is. read more

Have you ever seen the movie falling down? He goes to McDonald's and asks for a breakfast sandwich at 10:35 and they say no so he flips out. Well I did not flip out, but I think it's pretty weird that Panera bread doesn't offer food breakfast after 1030. I arrived at 10:35 and ask for a breakfast sandwich they said can't do it. Had a bite and did a bit of work here the other day and it was A-OK. Here's my biggest gripe about Panera in general. So this isn't specific to this location but all of them in general--their posted menus have no detail. None. If you're ordering a salad or sandwich you have no idea what you're getting beyond a basic description. I ordered the turkey, cheddar, and apple sandwich and it came on a cranberry bread with a honey mustard slaw. But I had no clue what I was getting beyond the turkey, cheddar and apple. You can always ask, of course, but when it's busy and you're hemming and hawing between two or three sandwiches is it the best use of the counter person's time to walk you through the menu? Not so much. I guess I'll need to plan ahead and pull up their website before I order in the future. But back to this location--it was fine. It's been newly remodeled so it's nice and comfortable. My food was good (the sandwich was maybe a little sweeter than I expected what with the honey mustard, cranberry bread, and the apples, but it was good) and seating was comfortable. Wi-Fi was not so great and I wasn't as productive as I had hoped given the intermittent lags but in the end it got the job done. Stopped in yesterday for dinner. 3 customers in front of us. Cashier was being very patient with a elderly woman who kept giving him gift cards. Some of them had 0 cash on them but he took care of her with a smile on his face and a thank you when she was done. We get up to place our orders and he was just as friendly to us as he was to all the others patrons. I normally like Panera Bread (and have been to this location a few times), but was extremely disappointed this evening. Don't get me wrong, the cashier was super friendly and provided great service. The food however was an eye sore. I ordered my usual Bacon Turkey Bravo sandwich. Because I got my sandwich to go, I didn't realize the condition of it until I got home. I would say that the normal thickness of the bread is half an inch. The bread I got was pita bread thin. The lettuce was wilting, and see through old. What was supposed to be strips of bacon was bacon bits leftover from a salad. The kicker was a sharpie sized pickle spear that was entwined in what I would guess is boiled parsley. (I was so disgusted that I threw it out before I thought to take a photo of it.) I can think of so many other things I rather eat for $9.50. I've never had any issues at a Panera before. until this location opened. It's consistently an issue and not going back. I've ordered delivery from them 5 times. 3 of those times they messed up the order. I've had 2/3 of my drive through orders wrong and somehow they've even messed up most my in store orders. This seems to be a common issue at this location from the reviews. Update 5/18/19 Ordered a egg and cheese brioche via rapid pickup...they didn't even place the whole sandwich in the box, smashed the egg that was sticking halfway outside of the box. The yolk was all over the bag and other items. They literally handed the bag to me as they finished it, meaning the person saw this happen, didn't care, put it in the bag, then gave it to me. I frequently buy loaves of Tomato Basil from Panera - Probably most from the one on Haggerty, but others as well. This location's is off... It's too dense, like tougher as if it was overworked, maybe? And the flavor tastes off, as if it's over seasoned or something, and the top is always overdone. Corporate, they need a tomato basil refresher class. There is not even a survey or corporate number to call on the receipt to tell them. It just says tell the manager.... Well, I'm already home and I'm not going back. Also, this Panera is smaller than a lot of Paneras, and the mojo is not as good. The Haggerty one by 8 mile & Target is nearby and way better. This Panera has completely gone downhill since changing locations. We normally get breakfast to go here. By the time we arrive it should be done or close to being done (half our order is muffins, super easy). We keep finding that our order is not complete when we arrive and staff is falling behind. This was not the case at their previous location down the road. Today was the icing on the cake. Lately we have held on our tongues on things like wait time or using the bare amount of ingredients. Today I did an online order which included a soufflé. My husband went to pick it up. 20 minutes after we arrived they tell him they don't have it. 20 minutes! So for some reason they couldn't say something sooner? I don't like the other soufflés so I had to opt for one of their mediocre sandwiches. I'm not sure if they need to hire more staff or what. I really try to avoid leaving 1 star reviews. A quick glance at my rating record will demonstrate this. However, this Panera is among the worst places I've ever eaten. I work for a large company nearby and order delivery from here nearly every weekday. Two weeks ago, the driver took an hour-and-a-half to deliver the order because, "two people called off." I sympathize, but this should not be felt on the customer's end. No one called to say the order was running late, nor was there an attempt made to make it right. The driver acted as if he was annoyed I even asked about it. This is just one issue. Nearly every day I order something, they don't include the whole order. If I order two diet pepsis and they only have one left in stock, they'll just give me one diet and one regular. Many times, they won't put napkins in the bag. Other times, they won't put a spoon in (for soup). At least once a week, they'll just throw around the bag, resulting in soup being overturned in the bag and spilling out of the container. Yesterday, they didn't even bring my two pops (which was the third time they didn't bring me the pops I ordered - not even the wrong pop. Literally just didn't bring them). When I try to call the location, it routes me to an automated phoneline that reroutes you to a switchboard offsite. If you ask to talk with a manager, they will route your call, but more often than not, I just get a voicemail for the manager on duty. If you call and ask to be routed to a person who can take a phone order just so you can actually talk to someone at the restaurant, they'll send you to the same manager's number and, subsequently, their voicemail. Here's the really bad part. last week, when they didn't bring me my pops, I kept calling back until the manager finally answered (didn't feel like just leaving a voicemail and being ignored). He said he'd send someone to bring my pops out to me. I told him I'd like to be compensated for the issue (and the reoccurring service problems). He put me on hold for ten minutes before returning to say, "I'll give you a free pick two, but I can't send the voucher with the delivery person because we're out of vouchers. Just come by and tell the cashier that [manager's name] said I could have a free pick two for the trouble." This was a Friday. I come in on Monday for lunch, tell the cashier what the manager told me to say, and she responded with, "Um, he didn't write that down for us." Oh, so back to the two pops not arriving. The manager dispatches the driver to bring me my two diet Pepsi cans. When the driver gets there (40 mintues later - I had to stay after at the office), he has two fountain drinks of regular Pepsi. Not the cans. Not diet Pepsi. Regular fountain Pepsi's diluted due to being half-ice. I call back and get the manager's voicemail. My company gets their food catered from this location. I have talked with the director of purchasing, and we will no longer order catered meals for business meetings from this location. They are horrible. Don't support this Panera. I lovee coming here on my lunch breaks during class and whenever I'm in the area. Everything is always super delicious and is always right! My go-to meal is the roasted turkey avacado blt.. omg it's an instant serotonin booster. This is the closest Panera to my house and has been recently built. I came in on a Friday night. I ordered my favorite sandwich-Frontego chicken on Asiago. They were out of asiago-which was fine, because it was about 7:30pm. I ordered my food and planned on eating in. I was given a pager and I sat down. It was hard to find a clean place to sit. The tables were not wiped down-there was a lot of crumbs on every table I wanted to sit at. I gave up and wiped crumbs and sat down. After about 10 minutes my pager never went off and I walked to where the sandwiches come out and there was my sandwich sitting there. I asked if I could take it and they nodded yes. I guess I'm confused what the purpose of the pager is for if it is not going to go off? Also, they never called my name, either.
