Most of the tables were dirty, the floor needed a sweeping, trash was full. I've seen much worse, but it certainly wasn't inviting. On the other hand, there was a very nice lady at the font counter and the food was ready fast. I don't want to diminish the hard work these folks do, and the sandwich was delicious, if expensive. I go to Panera in Colorado Mills Mall every week or so. I always order the same thing -- Tomato soup in a bread bowl. At least every-other-time, the server says, "Oh, sorry, but we're out of bread bowls". REALLY ??!!? This is an establishment whose name means "BREAD", and yet they can't figure out how to make (or order) enough bread bowls to meet their demand ??!!? I like our local garbanzos and we were on our way home from glenwood and my husband wanted to stop here for lunch. Staff was not overly friendly nor attentive. Food was still same quality as we find locally. I am giving 2 stars because i specifically asked for a gluten free pita and the lady repeated it back to me and she gave me a regular pita. If i had not been familiar with their products and i had eaten what she gave me i would have gotten VERY sick. No apologies offered or anything. When we went to check out, i mentioned that was not the gluten free pita and they went and got me the correct item. But that definitly did not inspire confidence. This morning I ordered a breakfast souffle, having remembered how delicious they were, crispy croissant-like crust with spinach and bacon and eggs inside. While waiting for my order I went to fill my small coffee, (they were out and when I informed them I got no response), so I went to use the restroom. It was filthy, the urinal had feces in it and the entire restroom was unclean. Then when my name was called, I placed my beeper on the counter and the person behind the counter rather rudely told me to put it in the basket (which was also on the counter). My souffle was so bad, I'll never order another. It tasted like it had been microwaved. Starbucks sandwiches are better, and that's a dismal statement. I used the drive through to pick up a quick bite to eat in the late afternoon. I was greeted by the server right away on the microphone. She was very friendly. Very impressed with how fast my food came out and I barely waited. The autumn squash soup was very pretty much autumn in a bowl filled with warm and satisfying flavors topped with toasted papistas. I paired it with the new Mediterranean veggie sandwich. Loved the herb bread which goes very well with the soup. Overall a very fulfilling and healthy lunch but I wish the price was a little more reasonable. For the pick 2 combo, it's almost $10. With so many convenient eateries nearby, Panera bread is still a solid choice. read more

My wife and I visit this location frequently and my main issue with this location comes down to the service. It's not bad, but they can't seem to get my wife's order down. She used to order the Chicken Cesar sandwich all the time, but since they removed it from the menu we now have to create our own. She now orders a chicken Cesar salad on a sandwich. The bread she chooses is Asiago Focaccia. The sandwich is pretty damn good but the main issue comes with her constantly telling them to not put onions. She always stresses not to put onions and they always tell her that they "got it". Somehow, like it's their life mission, onions end up on the sandwich. I'm not trying to be "that reviewer", but man this happens way too much. It happens literally every time we come and eat. When it comes to the bbq chicken flatbread I must say that it's amazing. It has a nice bbq sauce with the right amount of chicken. The flatbread also provides a nice texture as you chew into it. Overall, I really don't know why this Panera is rated so low. The service isn't terrible and yes they do slip up. It's happened quite often for my wife but she still can't complain about the service or food. Personally it's a solid three star with a high chance of being a 4. It's really not bad, they just really need to take us serious when we say no onions. Give this place a shot, I highly doubt they screw up an excessive amount. I'm gonna blame it on our order being odd as to why the mess it up so much. read more

What I got was literally a slice of ham and bacon on one piece of lettuce in a bowl that I finished in two bites. I guess that's what I asked for but for nearly 8 bucks, not worth it. I was hoping like other restaurants they would've made it more like a bed of lettuce with the protein on top. Several weeks ago I went through the drive thru. I ordered a Pick 2-sandwich and a salad. When I got home I found a buffalo chicken sub and a cup of chicken soup! I called and talked to the manager on duty. She said that she had a new person on the drive thru. I asked for a refund but she said that she could not do it on the phone. Panera bread is a common lunch spot with good standards of food choices and service. Today I have to leave a review because it was my first time for breakfast and I was not impressed. At 7:20am the bagel choices were slim on Wednesday. It was not bagel day Tuesday so I just got one bagel, toasted, with cream cheese, to go. I got a sliced and toasted hot bagel but it was thrown in a bag with a tiny cold cream cheese container. I did get a paper napkin, clear plastic knife so that is good but, I'm not going to spread my own cream cheese before my bagel is cold with it to-go. Why don't they do it like other breakfast bagels? Quality is good - I love how sesame coated the bagel is but I will never be back to pay $3.50 for cream cheese and a bagel again from Panera. :-( read more

Richard at Panera doesn't like sales and can't be bothered to do his job! I visited this location on 12/2/2020 at around 9 AM. Our pet has been sick at the vet for over a week and I wanted to bring the vet team some sweet treats as a thank you. I first went to a local bakery but they are closed due to COVID. I knew this Panera was close by so I stopped by on a whim on the way to the vet. I told Richard I was going to buy 10-15 pastries from the case. I could tell he was already annoyed by this and because I didn't know exactly how many. He told me he needed to know because he didn't know what box to use. Didn't know this was rocket science. We walked over to the case and I started picking pastries. About 3 pastries in he stopped me and told me, "You really should have called ahead to let us know you were coming." I told him I didn't know in advance I was coming and was driving by on a whim. I told him the other customers in the store didn't have to call ahead to announce they were coming. RIDICULOUS! I proceeded to pick out a few more pastries and Richard was groaning and had an attitude with me and commenting something like "oh geez" every time I selected something. He again stopped me and told me I was essentially an inconvenience for wiping out many of their pastries. RUDE! NOT my problem that you're low on pastries, make more! Aren't you getting paid to help customers? I told him I was disgusted with his rude behavior and MANY BUSINESSES ARE DYING to get business during COVID. He didn't give a CR*P. Another customer stepped in and told him he was rude and his response was, "I'm not rude". I told Richard he can go ahead and put the pastries back because I am going to take my business to a place that actually wants it and is not rude to their customers. Oh by the way, his nose was hanging out of his mask for part of this conversation, right over the pastry case. LOVELY! Go to a local business and associate that will actually be happy to see you! Panera-650 S Wadsworth-Lakewood. Very glad that I decided to try Panera again, and go redeem my birthday pastry. The young lady/cashier greeted me with courtesy, skill, a little friendly talk while she filled my order ... making me feel like a valued customer, etc. I had only planned to get my pastry, cream cheese, and a coffee, but added a couple of breakfast sandwiches and milk. When picking up the hot sandwiches, the young man at the prep counter briefly chatted with me... also great customer service! He was doing multiple orders and tasks, and doing a great job quickly completing my order. And all items tasted great! We'll be back to Panera soon! read more

Writing this review based on two experiences. Both were pick-up orders for about 25 people that were placed at least a day ahead. I'm a college coach and we place the orders this way to save time when we're on 10 hour bus rides and a time crunch to be somewhere. The first time was in December and when we arrived to pick up the order it wasn't even started. The female manager came to apologize to us and explain what happened. They gave us cookies and drinks and while the delay sucked I appreciated the ownership of the mistake and they did what they could to make up for it. The second time was today (January). We arrived and it wasn't ready again. I spoke to the woman up front and she asked the name but then carried on and forgot about us. So I went up again and she said the manager was still working on the order. This was 15 minutes after the order was supposed to be ready. We waited another 35 minutes before the food came out. When the manager (Sean) brought the food out he placed it on the trash can to give it to us. No apology or even acknowledgement of the fact that the order was 50 minutes late. I understand that they're probably understaffed, overworked, and underpaid, but an hour late and no apology is unacceptable. To top it off two items were missing from the order and when we went back in they told us they were out of those items. So they just didn't include them? We paid for the items and they consciously decided to not include them and not inform us. We won't be going to this Panera again. read more
