I met some friends here for lunch. It was not my first choice for lunch but I was visiting and I let them pick where to eat. Food was ok. We got some paninis which were ok for a quick meal. First off let me say Panara Bread is one of my favorite "chain" places to get a healthy lunch or dinner at a semi reasonable price... However I have been very let down lately across the board with Panara Bread. I feel consistency and repetition is a key fundamental ingredient in any business and Panara Breads consistency and repetition has been failure. I was in Fargo ND last week and this quant little town to begin with has very little to offer in the area of culinary establishments. I visited this local Panera Bread twice while in Fargo ND and both times was a let down. The first time I visited I ordered the pick two, my order was a ham, turkey, bacon and lettuce sandwich with a Thai chicken salad,,, simple order however they were out of almost every bread, literally out of almost every bread... SMH SMH... The second night I attempted I was left at the window for 27 minutes and they had to ask me 3 times what I ordered... Again SMH SMH... And it is getting this way with most all Panera Breads I visit... read more

I from Sacramento, CA and frequently go to the Panera's there. Never had any issues with the Panera's there. Food is always excellent. Service is above and beyond. Never ran out of anything. Since I moved to Fargo, ND and started going to the new Panera out here,the consistency didn't carry over. First time I ever ate at Panera in Fargo,I ordered the Brocelli Cheddar Bread bowl. Waited over an hour and when it finally came, it was a completely different soup that was not in a bread bowl. I thought I was given someone else's order. When I confronted the manager, she advised me they were out of the the soup I ordered and bread bowls, and gave me a different soup that was not in a bread bowl without telling me. Wow! Never had that happen to be in my entire life and would least expect it from a restaurant like Panera! On a few occasions I've ordered the Turkey, Bacon & Avocado BLT. Every time I've ordered that sandwhich it was always missing something. First it would be missing mayo, then bacon, and a couple times missing the avocado. In the mornings (between 7:00am & 9:00am) I've gone to Panera to order the four cheese soufflé and are completely out 80% of the time. Spoken to a manager that calls herself 'Kim' on several occasions about my experience and get the impression she doesn't care and gives me a refund and refers me to her District Manager. I'm currently writing this review from Panera as we speak. Just waited a half hour for a four cheese soufflé that came out completely burnt beyond recognition. Once again, confronted the manager and was told their oven has been malfunctioning for a couple days. It would have been nice to know that prior to ordering and waiting a half hour! It's pretty clear that everyone who works here does not care about their job and it gives Panera a bad name. I'm sick and tired of getting refunds on every order and would for once order something with no issues. Can't wait to go back to Sacramento where they produce quality food and actually care about there job! read more

Wonderful food, staff is very nice. They always get my order right. Their bagels and soups are the best. Their soda is kinda flat or just don't have any fizz to it. Place is well kept up. Very clean atmosphere bathrooms are clean. Overall very good just upset most of the time when they run out of my bagels but I'm okay with that!! read more

Not sure how Panera bread has only a 2 star rating. Their food is as good as most restaurants I have eaten in in Fargo. I love their black bean soup and their bread bowl. You can order ahead for pick up and skip the line. read more

Great breakfast options but everything else is overpriced. Panera Bread is one of those places that is in between casual dining and fast food. But the food is closer to fast food than the prices. I was just ordering in the drive through and the lady taking my order sounded like I was disrupting her. I asked for pasta and to make it a meal and she goes "I guess" then after each thing I ordered she goes ' is the all?' At least four times including while I was talking. Worst Panera. Triple check your order to go! In less than 10 min there I saw four people with missing sandwiches or the wrong food. I asked if there was a spoon and fork in my bag and was told yes. I came to Panera because I work from home and wanted a change of scenery to do my computer work. I specifically came early (knowing it gets busy during lunch time) so I could get a large booth to spread out my work. Naturally it got quite busy during the lunch rush and an employee came over and asked me to move since i was in a large booth by myself. I explained to him that I came early to get a large booth and as he could see I was in fact taking up the entire table top with my work so a smaller table would not be feasible for me. The employee didn't even apologize just walked away. I thought this was very rude to ask a paying customer to move and was quite offended. read more

This was another that we sort of knew what to expect going in. While we don't have this chain in Salt Lake, we do have Paradise Bakery and Kneader's, both of which are the same type of restaurant. If you've been to either of those, you've also been to this, though this probably leans more towards the Paradise side of things. The menu here is a mess and trying to order a panini got me a cold sandwich on loaf bread slices. The bread was sort of interesting, but the sandwich itself was average, the fountain tea dreadful and the cookie (shortbread) I didn't love much and gave it to my son, who also declined to eat it. My wife's sandwich was not much better, but the extra baguette we got was quite good. They do at least that very well. The chocolate chip cookie we tried to order noticeably had peanut butter in it, so it probably got put in the wrong sleeve. Our son rejected it because of this, as he is in an anti-peanut butter phase. Both the cookie issue and the inability of them to deliver the panini I actually ordered speaks to a slight degree of staff sloppiness here. Were I not more interested in leaving, I probably would have objected and had them make the sandwich correctly, as I chose that particular one off of the panini list in the hopes that I would actually receive a panini. Alas, alas... Free wifi is also somewhat slow (I also got booted from the server once) and aside from those things, there's not a great deal notable one way or another about this place. On April 30 around 8 AM I went through the drive through and ordered just a grilled cheese sandwich. When I got to the window and give the woman at the window my card I forgot I didn't have any thing to drink so I asked her for a water she responded with " we don't charge for water so you can order at the speaker." It appears that she thought I didn't want to pay for a possible water charge even though I dont know of any restaurants that charge for water also I just finished paying 7 dollars for a mediocre grilled cheese sandwich so I wasn't too worried about money. She was probably assuming customers dont want to pay for an item thats normally free but her comment made it seem like I was just trying to get items for free. Probably wont be returning read more

Having visited Panera for years, it's become a favorite of mine for a quick lunch. I recently visited the Panera in Fargo, ND and was really let down by the awful service I received. I'd ordered 1/2 grilled cheese sandwich and a cookie. Immediately after ordering I drove right up to the window and asked the gal working if I could change that to a whole sandwich instead (it was approaching 4pm and I was just getting time to have lunch). The gal looked at me, sighed, shut the window and walked away. She came back with my new receipt, handed it to me, and again walked away without a word. I noticed I was charged $5.19 twice- two halves make a whole, right? Wrong. A whole sandwich on their menu is just under $7. I waited for her to come back and let her know I'd been double charged (instead of just changing the item I'd ordered to reflect the accurate price). She grabbed my receipt and AGAIN turned and walked away without a word. A manager came back and asked me "what the problem was" so I told her I'd been double charged for two sandwich halves instead of the correct price for a full sandwich. The manager then told me, "That was what I'd ordered".... to which I replied, "No, I said I'd like to change my order to a full sandwich and I'd like the price to reflect what is stated on the menu." She continued to go back and forth with me and never once apologized for the mistake. She did refund the extra $5.19 (which further irritated me as I wasn't trying to "get a deal" I just wanted to be charged the correct amount), handed me my receipt back with the refund and closed the window. I sat there in the drive thru trying to get someone's attention again because they didn't even give me the food I'd ordered. I was finally handed my food and left. Again, no apologies, nothing. I normally go thru the drive thru in the mornings if there isn't a wait. If there is, I go inside because the drive thru is really slow. Today a friend from work and I decided to order together and have it delivered. We ordered at 11:16am and received it at about 12:05pm. I had ordered a pick 2 with soup and a flatbread. The flatbread wasn't in the bag. I called 18 times...yes, 18 times because it would ring and ring and no one would answer and then the line would disconnect. After getting connected to a manager on lucky number phone call 18, I asked if I could get the rest of my order delivered. I got it about 15 minutes later, but it was borderline warm/cooled off. They did include 2 flatbreads, but when it's not really warm and the edges are hard, I won't eat much of it. No apology from the manager and food that I would classify as just alright and overpriced, so I won't be going back for quite a while, if ever. read more

And how could I forget to mention their 8 dollar bowls of delicious Campbell's soup it tastes the exact same as the stuff you get at the supermarket for a measly 5 times as much and don't even get me started on their fantastic service it rivals that of even the most understaffed McDonald's out there! Yay! They finally built a location in Fargo! Three years ago we spent 6 months in Fargo during one of my husband's contracts, it is hard to find quick tasty food without soy in it--no worries at Panera. As for complaints about service...there is a hiring sign on the door as there is on nearly every place I just stopped at. My guess is there's a shortage of people to fill these positions due to the oil fields. read more

Great sandwiches and bread, as you'd expect. Poor corporate execution of rewards card promotion. I signed up on my phone, but there was no obvious way to connect it to the card. After waiting in line again, I was told I had to do it on a "real" computer. Welcome to the 21st century - phones and tablets are "real" computers, and much more real than your Dell I'm-From-The-1990s slow-mobile. Not a huge deal, but I was looking forward to try a pastry and becoming a regular, but I feel like the anticipation of said lost free pastry make me not want to go through the trouble - so bye-bye Panera! Walked in at 4pm expecting a lull. The line was crazy, I felt very overwhelmed by the menu. People in front of us were leaving before they even got close to ordering. When I finally got to order they told me the sandwich I wanted was seasonal and they no longer served it. It was the first thing on the menu??????? Say what???? So then I made a mad dash to order something else which was confusing and frustrating all the customers inline behind us. The food was good.
