This was such a bad Panera. Like oh my gosh. The silverware was had crusted on old food. That alone is enough to make me want to vomit, knowing someone else's food is still on my silverware. Not overly impressed. Yesterday, we ordered and paid online. My kids went to pick the food up. They got home to find that two of the sandwiches were missing. This food is not inexpensive and we do not live nearby. Also...the receipt was checked off and signed that the order had been checked...clearly, it had not been. I called and spoke to the manager, he was very nice and said that they would deliver the sandwiches within 15 minutes. It took a bit over a half an hour, but we did get the sandwiches. Not impressed with the value for your money or the service. I know mistakes happen, but when the receipt has been "checked" against what is in the bag...that should eliminate most errors. This was such a treat. I'm from out of town and our closest Panera is 5hours from us, so we go to one every chance we get. There is ample parking, but most of the parking is in the rear of the restaurant, and you have to walk to the front. There are a few places to eat outside. There is tons of options to choose from. They have salads if you need to eat gluten free. I had the Pick 2 meal. I enjoyed the mac and cheese and the BBQ Chicken Flatbread. The new flatbread sandwiches are awesome. And their mac and cheese is always delicious. The meals here are on the pricey side for lunch, but you are paying for the high quality of the food and baked goods. I love how the staff brings your food right to your table. They have these really state of the art pagers that show where you are sitting in the restaurant. That is a genius touch. Called the store and was told they could not just take my name and fix on my next visit; I would have to go back and bring the salad in for replacement. My girlfriend and I were in Battle Creek from Grand Rapids and needed a quick lunch before heading back so we stopped at Panera. This location is the worst Panera we have ever been to. We were greeted by a ball of toilet paper right at our feet as we opened the door. We stood in line for an unusual period of time due to an inefficient employee who appeared to be confused and mentally dispersed. We placed our order and chose a table. It didn't take long for the meal to arrive. We were disappointed to see what looked like a turkey avocado BLT sandwich that may have been put together by a 5 year old. Wait? Did i say 5? I mean 3 year old. I did mention it was a BLT, right? Except minus the bacon. Yes-we had to ask for the bacon as it was Mia. I had broccoli and cheese soup and a baguette. The baguette was far from fresh. It was like trying to rip a phone book in half followed by chewing a gluten enhanced now 'n' later. We ate our very very sad sandwiches and soup and headed back home. But guess what? That wasn't the end. The broccoli & cheese soup taste haunted me for the rest of the night. Now having said that, I'm going to say how dissatisfied I am the food taste was ok but how does a franchise based on bread not have bread? I figured the second time was maybe not so shocking because we came 15 minutes before closing and they like to have fresh product and reduce waste. The next five times and final time they are out, each time they don't have the bread for soup, they didn't have the bread the sandwiches on their menu advertised nothing we ordered was available any of these visits absolutely crazy to me. I feel that maybe they just need to step down the variety of breads to some basic offerings and up the quantities. I've given more chances than I normally would because the first visit I loved Panera, fresh tasty a little pricey but good. I'm done now, if you can't provide the service you advertise on YOUR menu then you should probably get out of the business or restructure your business.
