I want to start this review off by first saying how unprofessional the one older chubby Caucasian…read morewoman was to my husband and I. She began by making snooty remarks to us while we were looking at diamond earrings, we just let her ignorance fly over our head and went on looking for the earrings that I wanted my husband to purchase for me. Than again as we were debating on which pair to pick from, the heavy set butch woman, if that's what she calls herself because she sure don't carry herself like a lady, came to us and said very unprofessional and told us that we had to leave because we can't hang in there and nod out, which was not the truth by by a long shot. Just because she sees those types of people everyday because there is a Methadone clinic on the same Street she thinks that she's going to put my husband and I in that category and judge us because of our race and his religion. She automatically assumed that we were drug addicts and asked us to leave. When I asked what her name was her exact words of pure ignorance was "I don't have a name today. " But if I were to let her know who I really was and played the name throwing game, her tone would have changed real quick but in all reality WE are human beings and it is her duty as someone who works in customer service to have people skills and the knowledge of how to speak to people with respect. I understand the store is not at all high class, but she still has to deal with people with respect, and that she has none of. Therefore, I don't know who hired her but that was the worst business mistake you have ever made if you expect your business to succeed.

***HIGHLY RECOMMEND*** Campbell Jewelers turned a brides nightmare into an amazing experience. I am…read moregetting married in a couple of weeks and ordered a wedding band from another company off of Etsy less than a month ago. Long story short. It was poorly made. I was at a loss on what to do. Along with being stressed to figure out a solution before my big day. I found Campbell Jewelers online and I am so happy I did. Rich was very professional, friendly, and informative. He let me know what my options were. Gave me the "why's" which I always appreciate. My original ring was off balanced, missing a stone, with some stones looking like an afterthought and the prongs were barely there or missing entirely. The original ring looked like it was 10 years old. It shouldn't have been in that condition considering I had it for a week and it has never been worn. He removed the unnecessary stones, reinforced the stones that were missing prongs, added stones and customized the bridge to fit my engagement ring. He did way more than expected and couldn't be happier. All of my future jewelry purchases will be with Campbell Jewelry.

So every since moving to Philadelphia, I have been wanting to stop into this store after peering at…read morethe beautifully decorated ornate items. I decided to finally go in and I am so happy I did. I think the best part was the service offered by its owners and manager, Koray and Abbe. From upon entering I was greeted with a very enthusiastic and animated hello, how are you, and can I get your opinion on this pin I'm creating by the owner. I am quite the art lover, as well as a fan of small businesses and handmade items so I happily obliged. It put such a smile on my face to be greeted so warmly. The best part was not jus the service but getting to take a look at the items of handmade jewelry they had available on display and in the glass cases. I specially was looking for a bracelet that had the blue evil eye on it (mine had fallen off me recently so I was in need of a new one). Koray was kind enough to offer me his which was beyond generous, but of course I knew I had to pay it forward and purchase one myself. I actually ended up getting three. I need all the spiritual protection I can get lol as we all do I think, but the evil eye is a Turkish item that is meant to protect you from and ward off negative energy. Now whether or not that is true is up for debate but it's awfully pretty when incorporated into a nice design and also I just like the meaning behind it. They had some available in different colors and others in the traditional blue dot and a red band. I went with this sterling silver chain that had the single evil eye in the middle and little rhinestones around it and then another with a silver chain and multiple blue evil eyes on it. You can tell I'm a fan of them right? Truly though visiting that store made my day. I wanted to get a photo with Abbe and Koray but my storage on my phone was full so I couldn't. I will definitely be back. It's not often you meet kind individuals with a zest and passion and fervor for life like they do. They demonstrated kindness to me (not just to make a sale) but because of who they were as people. I wish their shop many blessings and if you haven't checked it out , they also sell handmade ceramics like bowls and plates. Also some of the things are imported from Turkey. Koray and Abbe make most of the jewelry items themselves but the bracelets I purchased apparently were handmade in Turkey. I may never venture to Turkey in my lifetime but it's nice to know the items I purchased were crafted and curated by an artisan from another culture other than mine. I'm big on cultural diversity and respecting people's cultural differences so supporting this store feels like a win win for me in that respect :)

I should have posted this last month with my other Philly reviews but I recently remembered the…read morescarf I bought there (now that it is sort of scarf season). We happened along this store after dinner one night. I had seen ads for the store in some of the Philly promotional mags at the hotel and I thought it looked intriguing. First of all, as I was browsing through the store's fabulous array of scarves and eclectic jewelry, I picked up and was admiring an "evil eye" key chain from a box full at the register. Before I could believe it, the hot Turkish shop keeper said, "This is my gift to you." Well, I was charmed (no pun intended). Secondly, I had to buy one of the beautiful scarves. As he carefully wrapped it up in tissue paper, he placed it in a beautiful small handbag. Are you kidding me? What a lovely bonus. Thirdly, it's open most nights until 8 PM. That's such a bonus when you're traveling and you need extra time for shopping! Located in the quaint Midtown area with lots of other cool shops, bars, and restaurants. I don't know if and when I will ever return, but if I do, I will seek this out.
