He also doesn't handle the gemstones like a professional , doesn't use gloves and his tweezers will scratch your gem ! Don't let him pick up your gem with his tweezers cause he will mess it up ! I rarely take the time to write a review, however my experience with Gemological Resources was well worth noting. I went there for an appraisal for a ring for an insurance claim, with the intention that they would do the work on the ring when the claim was paid. Unfortunately the ring had more damage than we thought and the repairs were more than my insurance would allow. I opted to pick up the ring and just send it the insurance company to do the repair. Not only were they so gracious to me, but took all the time to advise me and were so knowledgeable. When I asked them what I owed them for all the time and research they did over a week they said there was no charge. Absolutely no one gives this exceptional customer service. Prior to deciding to get a ring from Gemological Resources I did quite a bit of shopping around at your typical jewelry stores (like Kay Jewelers and and online retailers such as Jared Allen and Blue Nike) and I felt very uneasy and rushed. When I walked in the door at Gemological Resources I was treated like family rather than as an opportunity to make money. Terry and Allia took quite a bit of time helping me understand every detail and nuance of buying a ring as well as ordered multiple diamonds and bands for me to look at and evaluate within my budget. In all, they were very helpful and patient and even offered to maintain the ring for its lifetime. Everyone was quite friendly, knowledgable; and despite out naïveté, we walked away with an amazing ring for an extremely affordable price. The plan was to find a one-of-a-kind engagement ring. I had no prior history or knowledge of jewelry, especially not engagement rings. Foolishly I visited a handful of those cookie cutter mall shops. Boring. Pricey. Nothing special. Blah. A co-worker told me about Gemological Resources Inc (GRI) and the wonderful experience he and his now wife had with them. Since it was a local shop I gave them a shot not knowing what to expect. Wow.... What a great experience! From the moment we (my girlfriend and I) walked into GRI, it felt right. We met with Terry initially to get a feel for GRI's work, as well as to discuss ring options.Terry is an encyclopedia of knowledge; it was a true lesson on everything we needed to know about diamonds, rings, etc. Very much worth taking the time to meet with him. He not only shared much of his knowledge, but also listened and got a good feel for what my girlfriend liked. The initial meet was a success and I felt confident that GRI would be the right place to go once I was ready to make the decisive move solo. When the time came I met up with GRI again, this time with Nirali who works closely with Terry. Because I wanted a unique, special, one-of-a-kind engagement ring I decided on a custom design ring. The CAD images and designs were perfect! To top it off, Nirali found me a high quality and very well priced diamond; this after I spent weeks personally searching for the right diamond. I was sold!! A reasonable deposit and a couple of weeks later the ring was finally in. Wow oh wow!! It was perfect! 100X better than anything I've seen before. GRI knocked it out of the park! Seriously! Fast forward a few months later.... My wife loves her ring and goes goo goo over it everyday. We had our bands done by GRI as well and they too are perfect (the wife's band was also custom designed to match the engagement ring). All in all it was a GREAT outcome. We are both so very pleased and happy about our experience with GRI. Beyond our expectations. Never have I had such a relaxing and pleasant experience. I truly mean it. It always felt like I was meeting with friends and not just a standard business transaction. So do yourself a favor... If you're reading this it's because you're thinking about buying jewelry. I've purchased a few pieces of jewelry through Gemological Resources over the past year or so and have been pleased each and every time. I like to equate what they do to a mechanic... With a mechanic, you have to take them for their word. A good mechanic that you trust is hard to find. I feel like I've found that with these guys. It's nice to have my own personal jeweler that I can trust. If they don't have the best price, they'll tell you. But that doesn't happen too often. They're much cheaper than retail. I was extremely happy with the service from the minute I walked in the door of Gemological Resources and met Nirali. She was extremely professional and friendly. The store had a congenial atmosphere; definitely not your typical store front. We purchased my engagement ring somewhere else 2 months previously as my fiancé and I did not know about Gemological Resources. We wish we had. The store that we originally purchased my ring at replaced a stone that had fallen out of my setting less than 1 month later. They assured me before I saw it I would love it and that they put in the same quality stone and size. I took it to Gemological Resources to get an official appraisal as it looked off to me. Nirali was extremely knowledgeable and I was correct as the one diamond which my previous jeweler replaced was slightly smaller and a less grade stone which through off the balance of the cushion setting. It was taking away from the overall appearance of my ring. We did not want to take it back to the jeweler we purchased it from but decided it was worth the money to pay and have Gemological Resources fix it and do it correctly. They showed me everything under a microscope and explained everything to me. I have to say we are extremely pleased and 1 week later I look at my ring constantly as it is truly an amazing ring and I get tons of compliments on it.
