They balance elegance and innovation with the authenticity of familiar Thai classics. In short, the food is just freakin' amazing. Think Thai dishes perfected and fused with French cooking techniques in order to elevate them to a new level. They also explore some spicy options including vinegar and Thai sauces served on the side, which provide customizable options, greatly increasing the playfulness of the dining experience, allowing us to peak into the mind of the chef and letting the customer finish the dishes themselves--an educational touch that will make you better at cooking just by eating here! This is one of the most amazing Thai fusion restaurants in the world and it's a blessing to have Mae Sri here in little ole Montreal. Get the Pad Thai, it's a perfect dish. Pad Se Ew is great. My personal favorite is the spicy braised beef soup (so much depth here). The Thai iced tea is actually addictive and super rich (amazing). Dine in to get the full experience with the SAUCE, it makes everything much more complete. The crispy pork is also great. Everything here is plain delicious. It's casual but fine dining, perfect for a date or small party with friends. The Uber Eats from here is also solid. Thank you Mae Sri!

I stop by whenever I'm in Montreal because honestly, their food is better than most of the neighborhood Thai restaurants in the New York/New Jersey metro area. Trying this place for the first time and it surprised me! We were joking about the name (Thammada…read moremeans Typical/average in Thai). The ambience is chic and relaxing. We tried staple dishes like Peak Gai Tod (chicken wings app) which was a good change compared to a typical ones tossed in sweet chili sauce which I often find to be too sweet-- this one is more fish sauce forward with a hint of maybe tamarind tanginess? Good in general. For main course we got shrimp pad thai, beef Pad see ew, and braised beef short ribs Panang. The panang is top notch! The meat was tender and generous, if anything I wish there were more curry broth and a bit more spice. But overall would definitely order again. Both noodle dishes were great and well prepared. This place is definitely Mai Thammada! Kudos to the wait staff for their excellent service.

We…read moreare vegetarians and appreciated all the choices on the menu, and that they could leave out the fish sauce when preparing our dishes. Hubby had yellow curry w/tofu and I had panang curry w/tofu. We had mee krob as an appetizer. The food, according to the menu was supposed to be "spicy" denoted by one chili icon (as opposed to 2 chilis) but it was not at all spicy, so that if we were to return, we'd specify that we actually do want it to be at least a little hot. But the flavors were fresh and the rice came in these little straw "jars," keeping the sticky rice warm and moist. The price was medium and the ambiance very nice. I noticed that they had tatami (floor cushions and low table) seating, which is special--That would potentially bring me back, though I believe we'd need to reserve this ahead of time. The service was friendly and attentive.

This place is a complete JOKE and should be shut down immediately. "Restaurant SCAM-lande" is the…read moreperfect name for this pathetic excuse of an establishment. What kind of incompetent operation serves curry WITHOUT RICE? Are you kidding me? Do they seriously expect customers to lap up curry like dogs from a bowl? This is basic restaurant knowledge that apparently escaped these absolute amateurs. The service was beyond insulting. When I had asked about fried rice as a side, the waitress had the audacity to look at me like I was brain-dead and smugly announced, "Yes, you can get fried rice on the side, but it'll be bigger and cost more as well!" Translation: "We're going to rip you off and make you pay entree prices for a simple side dish." These people are nothing but con artists in aprons. This place is run by greedy, incompetent scammers who have no business being in the restaurant industry. Save your money and your sanity - eat literally ANYWHERE else. Zero stars if I could give them.

We had been looking around for some food in the area, and my friend found this little banh mi shop. What a great find! The sandwiches had 7-inch and 10-inch options; we each went with the 10-inch and finished them quickly. My friend also got a spring roll and she said it was the largest spring roll she had ever seen. Service is fast and friendly, and the sandwiches are priced well (compared to banh mi's we get in San Francisco). I ordered the grilled pork sandwich (#5) and my friend ordered the #1 sandwich. I felt my sandwich could have used more meat inside, but the bread was delicious and the fillings paired well. The shop is quite small inside and seating is limited. They also heat your sandwich up so the bread has a nice crisp to it. Friend's Review: "Once you get to the middle, the ratio of bread to meat to veggies is good. The bread was super warm which made it enjoyable to eat."
