Rented the "intermediate SUV: similar to Ford Edge" because we we're taking an epic MidWest road trip to see Pearl Jam at Wrigley Field and buy alllll the beers to bring home. Clerk, who is -at best- impersonable and needs a crash course in How to Win Friends and Be a Decent Specimen of Humanity (but frankly... He was a total dink lol) seems completely aghast when I ask if we're getting the Ford Flex... "(Sarcastic huff) THAT is a 7-passenger vehicle. Absolutely not." Oh. OK then. Cool. So we're getting that Explorer over there then? "(Superindignant sigh). You mean the (raised eyebrow. Now speaks in italics) FULL SIZE suv? No. You rented the "intermediate", no? You're getting the (small. basic) Mitsubishi Outlander out there in the lot. (And you know it took all of his restraint to hold back the "...peasant" that he was thinking, haha. Jerk!) Whompsville! The Outlander (in general. As a model of vehicle) turns out to be an OKish vehicle... comfy, if not luxurious, size-wize. Pretty good power. Interior lighting suuuuuucks, though. Not a dream vehicle, but it works. I guess. This particular Outlander, however, smelled like an ashtray. BAD. We noticed before we even got the 2 miles home with it that it smelled heinous. But, in excitement to get our luggage loaded and get the road party started, we opted not to try and deal with Jerky McJerkface to swap it out. °We get our stuff loaded, set aside a previous renter's iPad that was left behind - to address when we get home - and hit the road (squeeee!! Eddie Vedder time!!) °5 miles in we have to stop at an HEB for Febreze and some air freshener vent clips, as the stale cigarette smell is SO strong that it's headache-inducing. Spend the next 14 hours spritzing and singning "Febreze on down, Febreze on down, the rooooad" hehe. Fast forward 2 concerts, 6 days, 6 states, 15 breweries, 3300 adventure-filled miles. We're home. Car still reeks. :( I'm kinda miffed - REALLY miffed, actually - that they don't have a drop box for the keys or any way to return a vehicle outside of the location business hours. So now I have to get up *before* work in the morning - and we all know how "fun" the first work-morning after vacay is (insert my own sarcastic eyeroll HERE) - and return this car when it's convenient for THEM. Ugh! Funny story...I did call the iPad-owner to arrange its return. That very nice man is still traveling. In a different rental car. HE had been wise enough to swap the Ashtraylander virtually immediately for a fresh-smelling vehicle before his trip got started. -- so Avis just took that complaint-car back from him and handed right back out to the next unsuspecting person - me - that came along, with zero compunction or cleaning or frigs given. So much for the always-threatened $250 smokers cleaning fee, amirite??

It was actually larger than what I rented, but he didn't charge me for the upgraded size. They have cars parked on the left side of the building. They gave me the full picture and possible future problems instead of trying to do a quick fix that might not last. I will go to them first without hesitation whenever I need a mechanic in the future. **Radiator fluid was leaking into engine. The elevated 2 Star rating was because they were able to squeeze my unscheduled maintenance in and provide me an estimate. My vehicle's issue was a check engine light. I already had the code read at Auto Zone and provided CB with the P0128 code to target the repair. I discussed the issue with AJ and he mentioned he sees this issue frequently so I thought I was in good hands. We skipped the courtesy inspection to get my vehicle in and out quickly because I had an urgent family issue. They sent me an estimated cost to replace the thermostat engine coolant assembly for my vehicle to be over ~$1270 including $724 for the part alone. I told AJ that was too much $$$ and that I would pick up my vehicle. When I went to pick up my vehicle I told AJ I found the OEM part online for hundreds of dollars cheaper and he said that his parts system had that price. You will see similar posts from other CB customers about over priced parts. I should've listened to that feedback but the CB shop is close by and convenient. I was ready to pick up my vehicle. That's when AJ told me I had a $160 diagnostic bill. I asked him for what since I told them specifically what to target and that was their same conclusion. AJ told me that they had to pay for the mechanic's time. That same diagnostic took Auto Zone a few minutes so $160 for nothing new is outrageous! I tried CB about five years ago and they messed up the shocks on my 1968 Pontiac Firebird and it was a fiasco to get remedied by them and take accountability. I chalked that up to an older vehicle and thought I'd give them another shot on my 2016 vehicle. Fool me once shame on me....fool me twice....I highly recommend looking elsewhere. The bill to replace the thermostat assembly with the OEM part ended up being 50% of CB's cost. They should replace the C with an S on their name for Shady Brothers.

Mr. Alonso calls back 10 times and texts me twice stating i owe $269 more. 5 I texted that is not a proper bill, no details? 6. Mr. Alonso is stalking me on Facebook, LinkedIn and calling friends of mine that he found online. A text to my girl is out of line. He then threatens to call more of my friends. Mr. Alonso 1st bill reads: Agua Azul $14.99 Carpet clean $79.99 - Engine detail $99.00 not requested. or needed. - Headlight Restoration $99 my car is a 2019 with 50,000 miles and needed no Headlight restoration. Leather Clean $79 The Armadillo $14.99 The bottom of bill is cut off, and i ask for a more detailed bill. Mr. Alonso's next bill reads $19.99 more than his 1st text: Engine Cleaning $80. It was originally $99. Again, i never agreed to this. Engine cleaning is a spray on foam and 30 min later while you do other things you simply wipe it off. Leather Cleaning and conditioning $79 Carpet cleaning $79 Mr. Alonso does not mention Head Light restoration in his 2nd bill? Again, my car is 2019 with 50000 miles. It is a service never requested nor needed. Wheels $50 The Standard Package $0 Sales tax total alleged to be owed $208.00 Summary: in one text Mr. Alonso alleged i owe $269 in his last bill it reads $208 alleged to be owed. Again, i paid $80 as agreed for the 2 hours work. Stalking and harassing the elderly should never be allowed in any way. If someone has a service, hand over a menu and come to an agreement. (Carlos Alonso gave no menu and never said there would be a bill higher than $80) Mr. Alonso, alleged to do things related in his two different bills that do not match, that I did not request. When i did not understand his bill "Armadillo",... "Agua Azul" Mr. Alonso changed his bill and gave himself a $19.99 raise taking off services or adding them differently in his bills.
