My boyfriend placed an order through the drive thru on his phone and we waited their line for a good 10 minutes then they said the food wasnt ready and we needed to wait in the parking lot, so we waited for 30 minutes and at that point they were about 45 minutes from closing. We tried to go in after the 30 minutes of waiting and the doors were locked and there were a girl cleaning and a couple other girls just standing around laughing/talking. I knocked on the door and the one cleaning came to open it and i asked how long for the food since it had been very long. She said its not yet ready she will bring it when it is ready i say okay thank you and go back to the car. She comes out about 10 minutes later and says here is free orange chicken. We check the order abd the plate we ordered is wrong its just more orange chicken. We didnt even want orange chicken. So then knock again and tell her its wrong and she tried to say the free orange chicken was out real order? So i show her the reciept and we have to wait extra for our actual food and then had just 2lbs of orange chicken we didnt want. It was probably what they were going to throw away at the end of the night. We dont want that. My veggies were crunchy and not bland, Sweet Fire chicken was good but the Kung Pao was mushy ( I ate it anyway because I'm a bottom feeder). The staff were friendly. On Friday 5/21/21 @7:21 pm, I picked up some food for my son at this location. When we got home, I happen to take off the lid of his soda. I was shocked to see there were ants in his drink. I called the restaurant and notified the employee who picked up. She admitted that the ants probably came from the spilled soda behind the machine. I know the ants didn't come from my house, because we just got home and I don't have ants in my car. I just wanted to share this incident because I don't know if a supervisor was notified or not. I really hate that this is the ONLY Panda Express in Vacaville because I LOOOOVE Panda! I have been to this place more times than I can count and have tried everything that is not shellfish, so I could get a good idea of what is really good here. One of the problems is that the drive thru takes FOREVER! I literally listened to my recorded anatomy lecture from class while waiting to place an order...not get my food...place an order! In fact if you see more than three cars in front of you there is a good chance it will take about 30 mins to place your order, especially around dinner time. While I get that this isn't exactly a fast food place because it's an actual kitchen to prep/cook, 30 mins is a little insane. The other issue I have is that things will be out like the string bean chicken, mushroom chicken, or orange chicken. If they are out, why can't you put a magnet or something on the drive thru board saying you are out. That way I can order more quickly and not have to rethink what I want. Things like this just help make it a little easier and quicker. Also, please repeat back the orders in the drive thru because I have had plenty of combos where I wanted lo main, orange chicken and broccoli and beef and somehow I end up with Beijing beef. It's very frustrating! Can I also have the cost of my order BEFORE I drive to the window? I like to use cash and have it ready when I get there...I can't do that if you don't tell me until I get to the window. I mean, isn't that protocol at drive thru's? It was when I worked at the ones I worked at when I was younger. Lastly, how come when I order mushroom chicken or broccoli and beef (like tonight's broccoli and beef) I literally had one piece of beef but had over a handful of broccoli? I am all down with eating veggies but geez, could I get some protein too? I really wish the management team would step up and fix this place because it could be amazing with the right people. I am beyond pissed with the service this Panda Express has shown during this fake crisis I guess the hours have changed but on yelp and your website one show 2230 and another shows 2200 but I guess you close at 2130 this really needs to be updated so I order online for a pickup at 2152 I pay for my food drive to the location and they told me that they are closed and have no food so I asked for my refund and the tell me I have to come back the next morning to get it. I refused and wanted to speak to a manager but was informed that one was not there last time I worked in the fast food business we always had a night shift manager.
