Breakfast was amazing. Their menu has so many options and choices of pancakes, full breakfast combos your head will spin. I have the bacon, egg and pancake combo and that was absolutely perfect. Eggs were done to perfection, bacon was perfect crispness and the pancakes were light and fluffy with great flavor. Service is at a level I haven't seen in years they are so dialed in was every aspect of your experience from the time you enter till you leave. Oh my goodness! We visited Gatlinburg last month and I still cannot stop dreaming of the pancakes and omelets here. We went back TWO times and are planning our next trip back. Not only were the servers phenomenal (shout out to Nonna!) but the food was TRULY outstanding. The pancakes were so fluffy, they came out quickly, and the flavors were stellar. I am a traditionalist - so I stuck with my chocolate chip. My brother In Law tried the buckwheat pancakes which were flavorful, fluffy, and not too sweet. My husband had the wild berry crepes which were SO fluffy, the berries were perfectly sweet/tarte, and they had a delicious lemon custard on the inside. Truly a show stopper. The southwestern omelet truly surprised the daylights out of me. The flavors were SO beautiful. It was the perfect blend of flavor punch and savory bites. It's a TON of food. I would HIGHLY recommend getting an omelet, a side of pancakes (with chocolate chips of course) and then a side of bacon/sausage. This way you get to try everything and you have TONS of leftovers. The line outside looks intimidating, but service is quick, and they have a great system to make sure no one is waiting too long. It is 100% worth the wait though! Came to check out the Pancake Pantry during our trip to the Smoky Mountains after reading some great reviews online. We went early (7:30am) to beat the crowds, based on what people said online. We were seated pretty much immediately. Service was very fast and efficient. We ordered the cornmeal pancakes to share (between myself and my fiance). The portion was very large and easily shareable. Great value for what you get as well. They definitely don't skimp on butter and syrup too!! The pancakes were a little more crumbly than I'd prefer, but they had great flavor. The place is big, and can accommodate a lot of parties. Overall, I enjoyed our experience. I'll have to try some other pancakes next time to be able to broaden my review. read more

Our last day at 1:20pm there was no line so we decided to check it out. The prices were super reasonable. The service was nice and very southern vibe. More savory pancake choices would be good... What can I say about at Gatlinburg staple? It's been several years since I've been here and the menu remains pretty much the same. Here's a few things I wish I would've asked before ordering. How many pieces of toast come with the kids order. There are two huge pieces. Since I got this with a side of bacon, I wish I would've split it with my daughter. How many pancakes come with the Swiss chocolate? It was either 4 or 5. The serving sizes are CRAZY and quite honestly, can all be split. I'm not cheap by any means but we ordered 3 side of bacon, again not knowing you get 4 slices with each serving and they were $5 each side because the meals don't come with sides. That is the only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5. Prices aren't bad, food tastes like it did 10 years ago. The place is still as crowded as ever but our server was super sweet and very quick. Side note, it may just be the time of year but we didn't wait at all for a table. We've not had to all week which just amazes me. Great spot for breakfast, I just wish they would update the menu a bit to tell you exactly what you're getting. read more

It is top notch place for breakfast in downtown Gatlinburg, TN. The service is quick but the wait is rather long and there is no way to reserve or call ahead. Though line is managed differently here than typical. You wait in the line and you get seated from that same line rather than give your name and they keep calling names for people that may or may not be there. The pancakes, omlettes and coffee were all great. Though we wish they offered fruit or fresh berries on pancakes than compotes which are basically sugar jam. The ambiance is that of log cabin as is common in Gatlinburg breakfast places. There is $2/hour parking nearby (there is only one in the entire downtown). My first time eating here but the gals I was with had been here before. It must be super popular because we stood a in line that started behind the restaurant along a line of shops. There are a few benches along the way if you are with people who cannot stand for long periods of time. Having said that, the line moved fairly quickly, I would say it took us 25 minutes to get to the front of the line. Inside is spacious and has large tables for bigger groups (we had six in ours). I ordered the Morning Star and a coffee. Morning Star: hash browns with eggs, ham pieces, and sauteed veggies on top and three pancakes. You would think the hash brown/ egg/ veggie combo would be the "star" but no - it was surprisingly bland. I added hot sauce and pepper and it didn't help much so I left a lot of it on the plate. However the pancakes were fantastic. They were fluffy and tender - add the butter and maple syrup and it was bite after bite of heaven. This place was busy so be prepared to wait on weekends at least. Also, there is no parking right at the restaurant, you will need to find a pay to park lot for shorter walking or park down the road a bit. read more

After 12 years, I still visit here for every breakfast I am in town. My husband does the: pancakes, eggs, bacon. I either do the banana pineapple crêpes or the French toast. They used to come around every 5 seconds to fill your coffee cup. In recent years, they have backed off on that. They used to have warm cream in a container and now they have single served.
