It was Cinco de Mayo and my sister and I were reminiscing about the good old days when the bakery I worked at in OC made conchas. We're both currently dieting but really wanted bread thanks to my big mouth. I looked around, I just moved here a month ago, so I didn't know where to go. This was one of the first ones to pop up. It's not that far. We said screw the diet, let's go grab some PAN Apparently my sister had been to the store to the left of it but never had she gotten bread next door. The store seemed closed and lonely so we were a little hesitant. Plus, it was about an hour and a half before closing. I was worried there'd be no bread but there was still some. My dad loves the puerquitos, conchas, the cuernos, and I forgot all the other names...but if you see me there, I'll tell you which are the best ones!! My sister and I spent about $8/9 each. She paid for me though ahah the guy might remember us For the small selection that was left over at the end of the day, it sure was delicious!! I cannot wait to go back. The bread was so SO small. It reminded me of how panaderias once were back in OC, but like back in the day. This beats any bakery in OC right now. So fresh, so gooooood!! Thanks to the fellow helping us. We were a bit much. My mom and I were trying out this bakery for the first time rude woman whom name didn't want to give out. Pick what customers she would attend and who would wait. Like common sense you get in line and wait for your turn.. No this woman didn't care and would pick who she would help out. I have driven by this place for several years. I finally stopped. I walked in and the people working had a look of shock. I'm white. A lot of angry looks from whom I believe is the wife. It was early and when I opened the door the husband was startled. Not much of a selection but I picked out a few pieces. I debated going back but the pan dluce was very good. I chalked the reception from the first trip to Trump and and his BS. Second trip like the first. Third time smiles and friendly faces so I kept going. Around the the fifth or sixth time there was a new person behind the counter. The woman with the black cap in the pictures and other reviews. A truly miserable person. I had refrained from writing a review because I thought it was only me. Other yelp reviews say otherwise. To bad because the product is really good. I found them I'll find another. This place used to be so so good! Lately I've been going and they hardly have any variety of bread all they have is conchas regardless if I go in at 7:30 or 9:30 am it's the same bread. I feel as though they should maybe provide just a bit more. Compared to another panadería not far from here they have every type of pan dulce you're looking for. Kinda sucks going in and being disappointed in the selection. I do agree with some reviews the guy there is usually super nice but there's this short chunky lady that is extremely rude, you can go in there all smiley but she will for sure change your mood right away. I got a few pan dulces and saw these small conchitas & decided to get just three because not everyone knows how to make them. Well I regretted not getting more as soon as I took a bite of the conchita that pretty much melts in your mouth!!! You can say I'm in love....... but wait we cannot forget about their bolillo! Just grab the tray and select your pan dulce. You don't have to wait in line like anyone else and cut the line. Just be on the phone and the owner doesn't care. If that frustrates as someone who thinks you should wait in line, that's fine, the owner doesn't mind being rude and obnoxious when you ask why the other customer was allowed to cut the line. I only bought a few bolillos and maybe not considered "important" to him but horrible businesses like this shouldn't go on without being called out for it. This is the BEST so far i have tried around here, I have been to 3 bakeries, one real close by my house, they are all good..but Guadalajara beats them all...so soft n moist..The lady told me (who by the way was real sweet and helpful), that day old bread gets sold in bags as in bundles...So thier daily bread is always fresh!....I was hoping they had tamales, but not for the time being...Give them a try ....2 thumbs up!... read more

Great local bakery. Small bakery neighboring Alberto's right next door to the carniceria. This bakery has some of the best bread. I can always count on their fresh bread for holiday parties and corporate events. I will order 40-60 pcs in advance and they will gladly have them ready. I can also count on the bread to be fresh if I happen to be driving by and decide to pick some up. If you live locally I definitely recommend it, you've probably driven right past it numerous times and once you taste their bread you'll think of all the past missed opportunities. I have been coming to this location for a few years now, but lately the service is terrible. Last month I ordered and paid in full an order, I showed up and was told they forgot to do the order. I let it go it was for my dad so I went back the next day. Friday I came in to place another order of billios and pan dulce, paid in full and reminded them not to forget this was an office party order. Ok so the bread I really really like to make the drive up there, once I tried it I kept coming back so when a bday was coming up I decided to place a cake order here. I figured since the bread is so delicious the cake must be as well. I told the lady exactly what I wanted, I made sure to say NO 3 leches, I wanted regular bread cake nothing crazy or difficult. I paid upfront to make sure nothing would go wrong and I would just pick it up on the day of. I even paid extra for fresh fruit filling. On pick up day, 30 min. Before pick up I got a call saying they didn't read the ticket right and made my cake 3 leches INSTEAD of what I wanted. That if I wanted my order corrected it would take a few more hours that I already didn't have, and on top of that I was gonna have to pay the up charge for taking home a 3 leches cake. In the end when I showed up they decided not charge me extra, no apology and that was that. When I got to the party the cake had a hair on the lettering, was completely melted just mush, it looked so unappealing, the frosting was good. I honestly didn't even try it and I had been looking forward to it all week, it was such a let down. $40 down the drain. Usually I'm not one to make a fuss about things.
