Came to one of my favorite bakeries today (Vallartas Bakery) at 1:39 pm and they were closed. The sign says they close at 2 pm every day. This is the third or fourth time I come and they close early on and I don't come often because I come from Los Angeles. A man saw us at the window, but just said they were closed. So, I called them and the owner answered and I asked him why they were closed. In a defensive tone he said because they're the owners and could close whenever they want. Then he went on saying about them running out of bolillos and how the customers were complaining about it so they close early because of it. Then he said that their employees work all day and they need to get home to their families. Ok, sounds like a considerate employer huh. Wait! But...Hmm, that's how they answer to their loyal customers? Wow!! What an unprofessional demeanor and lack of consideration. Very poor service skills. Definitely not taking notice of the customers at all. Do they not understand that the customers are main reason they exist as a bakery? And if they want their employees to get home to their families, why not close every day at 1:30 pm or 1 pm? Doesn't make any sense. All it takes is to change the hours on the sign. Am I the only one who's been blown off like this? For more than 40 years, I, as well as many members of my family and friend in the Inland Empire, have been regular customers and contributors to this bakery and the other Vallarta's bakeries and they just could care less and give us the cold shoulder. If it was an employee who told me this I'd understand, but an owner! They just lost me as a customer. I'll surely let all family and friends know. To the owner: Closing your bakery early was overlooked over and over, but you belittling and dismissing me as your customer is unacceptable. They have the best pan dulce, but, you gotta come early to get it fresh. As with any other baked good, the longer it sits, the more stale it gets. This is really my preferred bakery in the IE. My family has been coming here for years and we all love it. Come early or you'll miss out! read more

Arrived early morning to purchase tamales and Mexican bread. They had a good selection. Tamales were yummy!

I ordered one dozen tamales a few days before Thanksgiving, 1/2 chicken & 1/2 pork. I was very surprised that they were open on Thanksgiving day so it was perfect that I was able to place my order for pick up that day so they would be nice and fresh for my family for the holiday. Although I can get them a little bit cheaper elsewhere I didn't mind paying the $21/doz because of the freshness and how close the bakery is to my house so the convenience was perfect. They came out really good, as you can tell by my pictures I like to eat them with sour cream and hot sauce. I think my only tiny complaint is that there was a little bit too much masa compared to meat, i've been to other places where they add a little bit more meat than these had but overall still very good and I'll be back to order more for Christmas. read more

Also every year I order my Rosca from here, it's always bomb, especially when dipped in Mexican hot chocolate. They sell a lot of yummy things here. Tamales, pan dulce, tortillas, cookies, Roscas, chicharon, bolillos, stuffed jalapeño bread just to name a few. Everything is yummy, fresh and is constantly being brought out. read more

On weekends growing up, my grandpa would bring back bags of Mexican bread and my grandma would make Mexican hot chocolate so we can do some dunkin. Milk is good too but it doesn't compare. I've been dying for a good Mexican bakery since I moved to the I.E . 7 years ago. I asked a restaurant who had some for sale where they got there's and they said this place. Since I didn't arrive here early morning and get it fresh I cut them some slack. I don't know the names of the different types of bread they sell but I bought about 5 different ones. I like the ones with that colored sugary stuff of top. I also got a Cocada....It's like a macaroon or coconut haystack consistency like an almond joy but better. The Cocada was not good. They are better at Cardenas's Markets. 3 out of 5 breads were good. I think If I got them earlier in the morning it might of been better. I did get this around 12 PM. They also sell fresh tortillas and Masa for tamales here as well. I'm still looking for a place though. This was a dinky little place. I will probably try it again in the wee hours of the morning. :) read more

The Mexican bread is just okay. I go here for the tortillas. They are made fresh every morning and you can taste the flour on them. They are so good, but they don't have preservatives so they go bad quickly. I don't buy them often and they are the only flour tortillas I allow in our home. They are definitely worth the drive a couple of times a year. read more

Ok I have never stepped foot in this bakery but I KNOW THERE BREAD IS THE SHIT!! My father is a truck driver and he works out of San Bernardino so every Saturday and Sunday my pops brings home this bakery's bread..and let me tell you I live in Los Angeles I am literally surrounded by bakery's and none of them are even close to the quality and texture and taste as this bakery's bread... I'm literally addicted to it... My favorites are the conchas and especially the niño Envuelto (these are the most amazing I have ever had) I seriously did not know these breads could taste this good. I mean I've been eating them for a long time and I've been to many many bakery's and they have never been this soft or moist and delicious , Ever!.. The niño Envueltos are so good my dad literally bought a whole roll and it was gone in two days..( no lie) I don't know much about the place or the people who work there but what I do know is there bread is the absolute best!! So if your ever out in Rialto go there and see for your self what real Mexican pan is suppose to taste like.. Thank you vallartas bakery for making good bread!!
