    Conchas are my life
    Leeanna C.

They have the best pan dulce, but, you gotta come early to get it fresh. As with any other baked good, the longer it sits, the more stale it gets. This is really my preferred bakery in the IE. My family has been coming here for years and we all love it. Come early or you'll miss out!

    One pork, one chicken tamale

I ordered one dozen tamales a few days before Thanksgiving, 1/2 chicken & 1/2 pork. I was very surprised that they were open on Thanksgiving day so it was perfect that I was able to place my order for pick up that day so they would be nice and fresh for my family for the holiday. Although I can get them a little bit cheaper elsewhere I didn't mind paying the $21/doz because of the freshness and how close the bakery is to my house so the convenience was perfect. They came out really good, as you can tell by my pictures I like to eat them with sour cream and hot sauce. I think my only tiny complaint is that there was a little bit too much masa compared to meat, i've been to other places where they add a little bit more meat than these had but overall still very good and I'll be back to order more for Christmas.

Now the Roscas come in a nice box.

We're both currently dieting but really wanted bread thanks to my big mouth. I looked around, I just moved here a month ago, so I didn't know where to go. This was one of the first ones to pop up. It's not that far. We said screw the diet, let's go grab some PAN Apparently my sister had been to the store to the left of it but never had she gotten bread next door. The store seemed closed and lonely so we were a little hesitant. Plus, it was about an hour and a half before closing. I was worried there'd be no bread but there was still some. My dad loves the puerquitos, conchas, the cuernos, and I forgot all the other names...but if you see me there, I'll tell you which are the best ones!! My sister and I spent about $8/9 each. She paid for me though ahah the guy might remember us For the small selection that was left over at the end of the day, it sure was delicious!! I cannot wait to go back. The bread was so SO small. It reminded me of how panaderias once were back in OC, but like back in the day. This beats any bakery in OC right now. So fresh, so gooooood!! Thanks to the fellow helping us. We were a bit much. We're grown women that act like children when we're together! Don't forget to leave tips! Working at a bakery is hard work!

You can always call ahead and place an order too. Def recommend that during the holidays because lines get long! What blew me away was the sweet potato cheesecake. It was heavenly in so many way. Extremely creamy yet not too sweet. I tried a couple of their banana pudding and it was so light. This is def a grab and go spot, no seating but spacious inside to gawk at the display in the front with all their sweet treats. They work fast when it comes to getting your order ready so come with your list! I was told they are at a farmers markets on Thursdays in Stanton but never got the name of the farmers market so will have to inquire again next time.

Wanted to give this place a try.. Unfortunately my entire family including myself didn't enjoy the sweet potato pie which is what this bakery is known for. Not sure what it is, maybe it has too many spices in it? It was a little too sweet and a bit too dense. Crust was perfect, flaky and buttery. We also grabbed the Sweet Potato Cheesecake. That was devoured. Not too dense and creamy. Sweet potato was swirled into the cheesecake which helped it from being too tangy. Underneath the crust had a layer of granulated sugar mixed in with some crumbly crust. That part was a bit sweet but I just scooped it away and it was fine.

You can also buy other items but these are the only products I have tried. First I'll start off with the tamales-- the photos are from my purchase because I completely forgot to take pictures while I was there. I ordered 6 of each kind, they have 4 kind to choose from jalapeño with cheese, red pork, green chicken, and corn (sweeter side). They were all so good, freshly made and packed with deliciousness inside each tamale. My favorite one is the jalapeño with cheese they were spicy but not an overwhelming heat. Honestly it had just enough heat to enjoy and taste it. They all were great and not dry at all. The service was amazing, they always have long lines and at times it can be wrapped around the building. The staff has a great system in place allowing the wait time to be about 6-8 minutes long from start to finish (10 minutes on a busy day). If you are wise don't go alone and have someone tag along. One person to get in line while the other parks-- then one person to get Mexican bread while the other waits in line for the tamales. The inside has a small feel to it only because of the amount of customers they have at any given time. I walked in with what seemed like a short line, only for it to feel smaller in a matter of minutes with many more customers arriving. Overall I would recommend to try them out and see how great they are. Lastly, all of the staff were very friendly and helpful !
