First 2 visits with our dogs were ok. This time our big dog had a support the blue collar on when we dropped him off and it was gone when we picked him up. Our yorkypoo was coughing with her tongue hanging out like she had been choke. the owner had conflicting stories and offered to pay for the collar, at the register he thru the money down and started a cursing rant even saying i let my fc**n dog run loose. I told him his employee said it was ok after I asked if I could let the dog go relieve itself when we picked them up. very unprofessional and we will never return. read more

The first day my Mollie went I couldn't even get her out of the car She ran away from the workers. Every time after she would get so excited just pulling up into the driveway of Panacea. I'm active duty military and anybody familiar with that KNOWS how hard a PCS is.(permanent change of station) The staff here was so accommodating and understanding for a WHOLE MONTH. Let me add that my original reservation was two weeks. But the military had me doing a wrap around, keeping me from getting my baby for an entire month. The staff never had an issue extending my reservation week by week with honestly little to no notice. I was sent videos, given update calls! I have to say that Panacea is a great place to board your dogs. And, just recently, they launched a new website where you can make your reservations online and actually go back and check your reservation without calling and bothering the staff. It is brilliant and makes it so much easier for clients. I love how they always greet you when you arrive, knowing who you are and who the dog is. If I could give them 0 stars I would. The owners/employees of this location need to be locked up for absolute animal neglect, failure to comply with customer paperwork and so much more. The emergency owner information, and the local emergency contact you leave with them NEANS NOTHING. If your dog is in a medically dangerous situation, they try to cover it up and DO NOT CONTACT YOU. Infested with fleas as well. If you mark you don't want your pet bathed, they don't care and will do so anyways. THIS IS ANIMAL NEGLECT. YOU ARE BEING PAID TO CARE FOR SOMEBODYS BELOVED PETS. HOW DARE YOU. Their response to the issues they cause by allowing animals to be mailed AND NOT CONTACTING THE OWNERS, is to offer to cover a percentage of veterinary hospital bills AFTER YOU PICK THEM UP. We found this goldmine through a friend who used them exclusively. We had never Boarded our dogs because we never would trust them with anyone. We got 2 Shitzu puppies, Harley and Marlee, who are turning 6 on August 13th and we have been Boarding them at Panacea since they were 1 year old. The Dogs love Roger, Barbara and Claire. Sometimes when we go to get them they don't even want to leave. When we get there to drop them off they run to get in the place. We are extremely satisfied with Panacea and do not hesitate to recommend them as the BEST place to trust with your precious loved ones. read more

We have been leaving our dogs, and, an occasional cat at Panacea, several times a year, since they opened in 2009. Five stars doesn't seem a high enough rating for the great job they do in caring for their "guests". Our dogs are always eager to go with Roger and Claire upon arrival and are returned to us in great condition...healthy and clean...and tired from all the activity and exercise they get during their stay. Everyone on staff is friendly, professional, very pet focused and provide a high quality of care. They are the best kennel in Hernando County and we highly recommend them to anyone looking for a place to leave their pets. Highest recommendation for this family business! I have left my dog and my cat in their excellent care for a night, a weekend, and up to eight weeks at a time. Both pets have been in great spirits and condition when I picked them up, and content to return the next time they went for a stay. I cannot say enough about this place. We have never let anyone else board our dog and never will. Panacea has taken such good care of our Harley every time we leave her. Our dog gets so excited when I turn down the road off of 50. She knows exactly where she is going. She gets out of the car - goes straight to the office and waits by the door to be taken in. The owners are the most caring - animal loving - good people you will ever meet. Harley always returns to us smelling clean - with a freshly washed bed. She loves her time at panacea. They also recently increased their play yard to double or triple - maybe even quadrupled - the size it was before. Such an awesome place for big dogs bc of the size of their play yard !! read more

I am a local Firefighter/Paramedic. My wife is a traveling nurse. This means that when she is on assignment and I am on duty I need to place my dog in boarding for 24 to 48 hours at a time while I work. I looked around online and Panacea had only one negative review and it was from someone upset that Panacea Pet Resort would not take their dog without vaccination records. That is a positive statement in my book! It means Panacea Pet Resort cares about the health of their facility. I called my vet at All County Animal Hospital and asked their opinion. I found out that she and all her staff use Panacea Pet Resort too. I asked for a walk through of the facility prior to boarding my dog. There was no hesitation. I was allowed to walk through as soon as I asked. It is well maintained and clean as is the rest of the property. I have now been using Panacea Pet Resort to care for Rosco for over eight months. This review is long overdue. They have treated him so well that when I drop him off he runs inside excited to be there. When I pick him up he runs up to me, bounces off me to say hi and then runs over to Barbara to get his kisses and petting before he will go. My dog's behavior tells me that he is treated well or he wouldn't be so excited to go. He knows when I put on my uniform he is going to the resort. He is so excited he won't eat his breakfast which means that they have the added work of feeding him every day, yet I have never heard a complaint about that. They simply ask if he ate before he came over. I have even gone away for a two week motorcycle trip and left him there for the two weeks. He still had the same behavior of being excited to go the next time I dropped him off. I cannot say enough good things about how well Rosco has been treated and how easy Panacea Pet Resort is to deal with. If they don't answer the phone because they are busy with the dogs, leave a voice mail or drop an email and it will be promptly answered. An enthusiastic five stars from me. read more
