I heard about Midge through a neighbor and all my dealings with her have been very professional and altogether fantastic. Midge was very responsive to my e-mails. We did a meet and greet for about 20m to go over everything. She left behind her insurance certification, and a pen/book for when the walkers come to write about what seems to be just notes on bowel movements of my dog (she's a dog, it's not like they had conversations, haha). Midge was very understanding of all requests that I may/may not have had. She offered to take photos and send text messages after each walk, and etc... I was content without them. We set up another time to do a trial run and my pup responded very well. I handed over my keys and left for vacation. On my request, I received a text message once a day that spelled out anomalies (like she hasn't pooped) and victories (like when she finally pooped). It looked like my doggie was also warming up to Midge and her team (Celeste and Kristen). When we came home, everything was as expected and Midge also followed up with a call just to make sure we got home on-time and etc. Would recommend and this is a delightful way for me to take a vacation and not have to worry about my pup.

We vetted a few pet care companies and chose Best Paws First, but ended up disappointed with the…read moreservice. We used a dog walker through them who spent over a month getting used to our dogs with weekly walks as our dogs are rescues and can be nervous and bark at new people in the house. Although we asked initially to have a couple walkers be introduced (so our dogs could become familiar with them) in case of emergencies, only one walker was assigned. During our night away for my brother's wedding, we received a call at 9:30 PM from the owner of the company stating the walker had an emergency and was not coming. Instead of providing a backup walker from the company, the owner called our own emergency contact to come to our house at 10 PM to let our dogs out. The owner declined to cover the visit herself because our dogs can be nervous and bark around new people. We understand emergencies happen, and the owner did issue a full refund, but there should have been a back up in place. While the owner admitted she should have had a back up in place and that this was a learning experience for her, I am saddened my dogs had to be the expense for this learning experience.

The manner of the owner is not nice - never warm to our dog and never grateful for our business. It's been hot and cold the last few times we've brought our dog in with lack of warmth at this establishment. We brought our dog in after being nicked in two areas to show her the small cuts from being shaved too close and she totally disregarded it being her fault and didn't even offer to take care of the $30 cost of the powder we bought from the vet at his checkup the day prior. You would think $30 would be a small gesture as I would take care of a customer who comes to me by being apologetic and offering a free grooming next month! Also little things on last groom- our dog has extra hair around paws and around snout -- attention to detail was lost. Water must smell like sewer too because he smelled like mold . We are not penny pinchers and care for our dog like our child. He was not cared for properly here . Sad to see a local business not take care of Their customers and most importantly the little dogs they serve! Will not be coming here again and luckily have other local options
