Island Cafe had several cars parked in front so I thought that was a good sign. This is a table service restaurant and I ordered the fried scallop dinner with a loaded baked potato and salad for $25. Then entree arrived about 15 minutes later. The salad had a little cheese on top of the greens with ranch dressing on the side. It was a good salad. The seafood came with several fried scallops and a couple of hush puppies along with a small ear of corn and the baked potato. What was missing was the cheese and bacon for the potato. The waitress disappeared so I wasn't able to get the missing bacon and cheese and had to make do with some butter for the tater. This was disappointing. The scallops were decent in taste but I couldn't get anymore cocktail sauce because of the missing waitress. This meal was substandard and I felt underwhelmed by the entire experience. The food was ok in taste but it didn't stand out to me and the table service was non existent. Perhaps Island Cafe is better than this but giving a 3 score is generous in my opinion.

Andres, our server, was attentive, knowledgeable and kind. Honestly, he was the main reason we decided to stay and have a proper dinner, not because he pushed us, but because he explained everything with such detail and found options for me (allergic to shellfish and everything that swims) and my husband, who is a vegan. We ended up having the veggie platter and the chicken platter- that chicken breast was delicious, so tender and juicy. The black beans and rice with maduritos were heavenly and the homemade tres leches...gosh! Andres told us that his father, Captain Morgan, was the chef and owner, that his mother helped cooked, and that his uncle helped. They all came to the table, and gave us so many tips on what to do in the area. The restaurant was immaculately clean and with a great temperature given the heat. We were so hungry and entertained that I failed to take photos, my bad. It was such a surprise, and we would recommend this place to anyone!

During our visit to Marco Island, friends highly recommended HavAnnA Café, so we stopped in for…read morelunch--and it instantly became a place we know we'll return to. The restaurant feels like a colorful, garden‑style hideaway, full of charm, warmth, and the delight of discovering a true local gem. And of course, the two resident chickens, Popcorn and Carmel, add their own quirky personality to the experience. Our server, Mimi, was excellent--friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The café is tucked away along the back roads of Chokoloskee, surrounded by the kind of old‑Florida scenery that's becoming rare. The food was outstanding. We started with tostones (fried plantains with garlic), then enjoyed the pork sandwich with chips and the pork plate with rice, beans, and two perfectly cooked sweet plantains. Every bite was rich with authentic Cuban flavor. We finished with the flan, which was so good we could have easily ordered a second. With its lovely outdoor seating, light radio music floating through the air, and a staff that treats you like family, HavAnnA Café delivers an experience that feels both heartfelt and memorable. The only thing missing was a hammock--I could have taken a nap and geared up for an early dinner. The seafood stew looked especially tempting for next time. A wonderful stop in a part of Florida that still holds its original soul. And by the way, don't leave without grabbing a bottle of their hot sauce--sweet, flavorful, and just the right amount of kick!!!

Here's my 10 year old's review on this diner: really good service, the person to serve you is really nice and takes the time to customize your order, tells the kids what different eggs are called and the food tastes good, an overall 5 star.

They are located in the Fiddler's Creek Plaza by Publix and tucked in between Encore Nail Spa and Pakmail. I grabbed some breakfast for the kids already but wanted to get a pastry for myself so I checked out the spot. The staff here is so friendly and attentive. I saw an almond pastry that looked like an almond version of a Kouign Amann. I asked what the pastry was and they said it was an almond croissant. Cool shape for an almond croissant. Got that and a Nutella Crepe for the kids too, they love crepes! * Almond Croissant $4.29 * Nutella Crepe with strawberries & bananas $12.99 Cute cafe with interior seating and a few outdoor seating as well. They also sell local honey, jewelry, rocks and small gift items. The menu offers smoothies, arepas, quesadillas, crepes and bigger food items. The prices seem a bit high for some of the menu items. My almond croissant and Nutella Crepe were priced fairly. I thought the prices for arepas, quesadillas and mega bowls were quite high ranging from $12.99 up to $18.99, pending on protein option selected, I think they offered other items too but I was only scoping out the crepe options. They have savory crepes too. I sat and waited for my order. Once it was ready, they walked it over to me and thanked me for coming in. Again, very friendly staff. The almond croissant was a bit dense for my liking and had lots of almond paste, but still good. I just love my pastries light and flaky in general. But I am always open to try pastries as that is my weakness. The Nutella Crepe was hearty and the kids loved it. Cute cafe if you get a chance to check them out. SUPPORT LOCAL!!!
