They need to hire more aides. The ones they have are great but response time is very slow. Office experience is not good. They never answer the phone. There should be someone at nurses station at all times to answer the phone. Communication between departments is not good. read more

This rehabilitation facility was recommended by a mesquite hospital for my 95 year old grandmother who just had an operation. My grandmother was transported with her prescription glass with macular degeneration correction that was on her face. We know that because we were at the hospital when they arrived. When she arrived at Palomino Place she advise the Palomino Place Staff took her glasses and never returned them. Several days after she had to go back to the same hospital which was the first time that we could see her due to the strict visitation rules and she asked if we would ask the staff at Palomino to return them. One of the nurses at the hospital advised that he transported, Mama and verified that the glass were on her face.. This took approx two weeks, I finally had no choice but to so back to the eye doctor and spend hundreds of dollars to replace them. I called Palomino Place and asked for the Executive Director, well she has been in meeting for several days. I also was advised that when i do visit that I will not be able to talk to the staff about any issues. I love my grandmother and if there was another option this would not be it. read more

A friend of mine referred me to this place. I plan to see if I can have my loved one transferred to another facility. I understand that this is a skilled nurse facility however, when I call to check on my loved one no one answers the phone. Each time I held for 10 minutes. First of all, I had hip replacement surgery on Monday the 9th. Well that went very well. On Wednesday I was in contact with a young lady name Karen who now I know was recruiting me for Palomino, I should have gone to the one that my orthopedic surgeon referred me to but this one was closer to my home. The Tuesday after surgery, this guy Castillo came to my room Recruiting me I was going to like this place and were going to take good care of me. Well, I got here around two o'clock, the driver brought me to room 204 , after a while a guy came in and asked me "what's up"? I told him and Told I needed my medicine, he went to get it I took it. Well I waited for a couple of hours, that's when this young lady came in and introduce herself as the DON and was gone in a flash. I waited until well after five pm. No one came in to access my condition, mind you I've got a surgical scar. I was very angry by then, but I didn't know if maybe she or that guy that came to Presbyterian to Recruit me had maybe left some instructions. After a while, I had to use the restroom well, that was challenge because the toliet was very low. After That I noticed that my surgical scar was draining, and no one here knew what to do!!! I'm panicking now and still very upset with way things were going. I called 911 they came and I explained everything to them and they ask me if I wanted to go anywhere else, but, told them no I've been in touch with an attorney. And I called the ombudsman. I wouldn't recommend This Place To Anyone Who Can't Talk and Relay To There Love One. I've got a great review to a couple of people here but neither one is in administration Don't Bring Your Love One's Here. They don't care about anything but What they're getting from Medicare and Medicaid. Well let this be a formal statement for the record, I don't trust these people and didn't receive any physical therapy from them I Told them point Blank that I Don't Trust Them. Oh Yeah I asked for toliet paper and a young lady told me in a very rude voice which I have a recording..." We ain't got no toliet paper" after she found out I had her recorded she came back in about an hour with a roll telling me that she had to get it out of another patient room. Please if you care about your loved ones or friends do not put them in Palomino place my husband was there from February till April 2019 and they almost killed him when we took him out we had a doctor waiting at the hospital to a admittance him doctor said if he had a been left in that horrible place he would be dead in one week he was on the therapy side the therapy department was wonderful the Friday before we took him out from 6 in the morning till 9:30 a.m. they had only the person that dispenses the medication I kept asking where are the nurses the reply every time was they are coming about 2 months ago they put up a banner saying under New Management that's a lie the executor director is still there the director of Nursing is still there I think the only ones replaced were the nurses AIDS and the food was beyond being terrible I could go on and read more

I went to Palomino Place for an interview and the staff was very courteous. During my interview Sheritta spoke very highly of the company. I am now an employee and I can say that the staff welcomed me and was also excited to have me. Jennifer HR was very informative and could answer all my questions. She even reduced my anxiety every time she laughed. Since I've been here, everyone has made sure that I have all the tools that I need to be a successful employee! read more

My brother was in the Palomino Place for a few weeks. Had we not called 911, I'm afraid he would have never made it.

I'm a 68 year old woman. In late August, i fell off a small ladder and broke both arms, a tibia, and a wrist they didn't find until I had been at Palomino Place for a month, only because i kept complaining about the pain. I was at Baylor 4 days. They ordered a special blow up mattress to put on top of my mattress to help make me comfortable. The day it came was the day I was transferred to Palomino at around 5 or 6 in the afternoon. At 3am I was awoken by 2 very loud and rude women. They came in, flipping lights on full blast and talking very loud. I have a pillow under each arm for comfort. Neither of these women said a word as to what they were doing or anything for that matter. Without saying a word the 1st one just jerked the pillow out from my arm. I screamed and asked what they were doing. Then the 2nd one jerked the other pillow away from my other arm. I screamed at the top of my lungs again. Then very rudely one of them said, "they left something on your bed that shouldn't be there". I had no idea what she was talking about and she wasn't talking. They proceeded to not so gently jerk something out from under me. I asked was it so important that they had to beat me up at 3am to get it. Then the other one very rudely said "you gotta feel a little pain to get well". Really?? Then they left. The next day my husband came and saw my blow up mattress just thrown on the floor! Apparently, it was more important on the floor than under my broken body! Robinson, physical therapist, Jennifer, occupational therapist, were wonerderful. I had nurses aides and nurses arguing with me, that i could feed myself when i couldn't even get my hands to my mouth, when i had orders from doctor that i couldn't. I had some awesome nurses aides and nurses, in spite of the bad ones. Some of them and i even cried when i left! I was never offered a bed bath, no one offered to help me brush my teeth, brush my hair or even wash my face! Even though i still didn't have much use with my right arm, when my surgeon said i could home, i couldn't wait to get back to that hell hole and get my things and never see that place again. Like i said, there are a lot of good people working there, i'm afraid the bad ones will run off the good ones. I wouldn't feed the food to my dog! All i have left to say is, if you love your loved ones, DON'T send them there!! read more

My son entered this place on 3/4/2019 his diagnosis colitis,,Nurses knew this...He was excepted,,They also knew he had to be fed as unable use left arm and limited use of right...cannot use them to even wash his face or put on glasses ....On first day was sitting in wheelchair in poop..it dripping to floor ...I told nurse to roll him into shower shower him and chair she did roll him transfer to shower chair ..was couple hours I told aid might want to spray down chair ...next day I walk in he is on regular plastic mattress with folded sheet under bottom..I ask about sheet aid says they are in wash I said put flat sheet over plastic,,she did ..on Thursday I walk in to closed door at 10:14 A M and he again on plastic with folded bedspread under bottom no cover and his breakfast tray in front of HIM UNTOUCHED..since 8:15 laying in poop that he reported to person who delivered tray..had buzzed during night for drink never got one..I ask for administrator to view this NEVER CAME..D O N came begged us to stay..we did and by Sat he had lost vision due to stroke he had on 3/4/ lack of fluid he was so dehydrated blood not flowing to brain cause blindness..ENTERED HOSP W/TEMP AND VISION LOSS....IN E R for 12 hours given 4 huge bags fluid before he got some vision back....had not urinated in hours and as nurse cath him she said Mom you might want see this..
