I just want to update my review. My child started in kindergarten there in 2021. We are still there…read moreand she is thriving as a 4th grader. She has beautiful handwriting, a good attitude, a great vocabulary, and she understands self-governance and the virtues being taught there. Her education is well rounded. I continue to be impressed by the robust but doable assignments and projects she brings home. The school is continuing to grow is is focused on continuous improvement, creating a safe environment and one that enables students to learn and to develop. I would humbly submit that the also deliver even more than one could ask for. Additionally, they are regularly offering events, onsite and offsite that you can participate in. The onsite events are not expensive if you choose to do a Spirit night and support a local business it's not too expensive. The new gym, the Hangar (Jet themed of course) is complete, athletics are coming along nicely, they will have more Arts offerings, clubs are happening.... If you refuse to be pleased here I don't know what to tell you. They're responsive. I have not had one experience that made me feel like no one cares. Are they perfect? No, of course not who or what is? But, JXC is damn good. Period.

A year ago I fought to bring the positive reviews to the front but now I understand why so many people rate them lower. The conversations behind parents backs about their students, the two faced conduct... it is really sad. Please don't take your kids here. This place doesn't even care about the laws required during state testing or following the procedures of students who have IEP's or 504s. Also, I pray new teachers run before taking a job here.

Our son started in the one-year-old room at the Chappell School- South Campus daycare in August,…read moreand we've had such a great experience. His teacher, Miss Payton, is wonderful--she's attentive, encouraging, and really gets to know each kid. You can tell she truly cares. Since being in her class, our son's speech and independence have grown so much. She even helped curb his love for screaming--now instead of yelling, he goes "shhh," which cracks us up every time. The whole team is friendly, communicative, and clearly loves what they do. We always feel like our son is in great hands. And the afternoon snack they send home for the car ride is such a thoughtful touch that he looks forward to every day. We're really grateful for the staff here and how much they pour into the kids.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. My son at the ripe age of…read more2 years old and never having been in school before was expelled on his 3rd day of school for being able to open doors and was classified as a "flight risk". First of all, WHY was my son able to get out if he's being supervised. Secondly, why would you say you can't expect your teachers to run after a student when they're there for a reason. He's 2. He shouldn't be expected to act like a robot. He does not have adhd or anything of the sort to classify him as an "overly difficult" child. Another issue is, nobody could tell us specifics of why he was considered a flight risk other than opening the classroom door. First we were told y'all would give him 2 weeks to adjust to being in school then not even 8 hours later we were told by the end of the school week then the very next day it was, he's expelled. WILD behavior. Not to mention on his last day when I arrived to pick him up, he was being "disciplined" in the front office and I was never called or told he was up front. I lived 5 mins away and would have came to get him immediately instead of yall holding him in the front office. Again. He's TWO!! As a previous preschool teacher and someone who has talked with numerous other preschool teachers AND a child psychiatrist, we are ALL disgusted by the behavior and treatment towards my two year old child.

They're always sharing news with us about my son's behavior or his needs (both opportunities and praises! which we appreciate). My son basically jumps out of my arms into Ms. Dixon's arms every morning, which makes me feel so good dropping him off every day knowing he looks forward to who he's spending his days with, and confirms to me he's in a loving and safe environment that he enjoys. Thank you Ms. Ledden, Ms. Dixon, and Ms. Yancey for your love and support of our son in the Toddler 2 classroom!

We have had the pleasure of having Mrs. Sircar for 2nd grade this year and she has the patience of a saint. If ever there could be a Disney princess as an elementary teacher it would be her. If you're cool with blatant discrimination, this is the school for you!!…read more In January of 2016, I inquired about after school care for my daughter. I was told there was availability and that I should come by and tour the school and pick up an application. Sweet! Oh until I mentioned that my daughter was in a wheelchair. ::record screeeeeech:: Then I was told there was actually a small wait list....it must have slipped the front office administrator's mind...but hey it happens. So we get on the wait list and call to check in from time to time only to be told "there's just one more child ahead of her" time and time again. After several months we talk directly with the owner and straight up ask her if there's an issue with my child being admitted because she's in a wheelchair. She assured us this was absolutely not the case and our child would be the very next one admitted once an opening became available. So TWO YEARS (because apparently this is the Harvard of after school care) go by and within that time we managed to find another place for her until that spot opens up. We actually let it go for a while since we found a nice program that had no issue with meeting her needs, and ultimately that's what we were looking for, but kept her on the list just in case. However today we randomly saw the owner again and asked her about it. She ACTUALLY said no child has been admitted in the LAST TWO YEARS. Like those words actually came out of her mouth. I don't know about you, but that sounds awfully suspicious. I'm bringing this up now in the hopes that they will take a look at themselves and ask what they are getting out of denying kids with disabilities. That and so they can thoroughly brush up on the rules and regulations of the ADA Act. Just in case they need a resource, here is a link to show just how illegally discriminatory they are. https://www.ada.gov/childqanda.htm We are also in the process of working with ADA advocates in regards to this so you can also ask them any questions you may have once they contact you. Have a blessed day. I mean that as sarcastically as possible.

As a mother, I don't write reviews lightly--especially about a school. But I feel a responsibility…read moreto speak up because a child's emotional safety matters just as much as academics. My experience at University Christian School left me very concerned about the way some situations were handled, specifically in interactions involving Jeleen Del Valle. On more than one occasion, I witnessed a tone that felt harsh and intimidating toward students, including yelling. As a parent, it is painful to watch children being spoken to in a way that can embarrass them or make them feel afraid. I also felt disrespected as a parent during communication. Instead of calm, professional conversation, I experienced dismissive responses and a tone that did not reflect patience, empathy, or partnership with families. When parents raise concerns, we should feel heard--not talked down to. Another concern was what appeared to be favoritism, where certain children received gentler treatment while others were corrected in a more aggressive way. In a school environment--especially a Christian school--every child should feel equally valued, protected, and treated with dignity. I truly hope the administration takes parent concerns seriously and improves accountability and communication moving forward. Families deserve a school environment where children feel safe, respected, and supported--every single day.

From the very first email, Steffaney made us feel like we were the most important family she was working with. Transitioning into a new school, especially high school, can be overwhelming, but Steffaney has made the experience smooth, welcoming, and honestly, joyful. Her attentiveness and kindness made my daughter and I feel not just seen, but valued. She has truly set the tone for what we hope will be an amazing school journey. As a Dean of Students for DCPS, I've worked with countless professionals in education--but Steffaney stands out. Her proactive approach and genuine care for each family are qualities I'll be taking back with me to my own district. She is truly a light, and any school is blessed to have someone like her representing it. I am beyond impressed and deeply grateful. Thank you, Steffaney, for everything!
