There was only one shower available and this didn't have a privacy curtain; but I showered anyway, naked. After a few minutes one of the female employees stood next to the shower and told me that next time i need to keep my swimsuit on during showering, because there are children around in the female changing room. This statement was somehow confusing for me and i told her that it is very unhygienic and unhealthy to not shower naked before and after using a pool. She pointed out that i can't shower naked in the facilities of a public pool and left. I started rushing to finish showering, but only a few seconds later another woman in the changing room started screaming at me! She screamed: "This is not cute! You can't shower naked here. I don't want my children to see your b*bs and va*na!" I stayed calm and left the shower as fast as possible; i grabbed my towel and wanted to change into my clothes but the woman walked over to me, stood very close in front of me and screamed again: "I am going to sl*p you!! We are in the USA! Go into the restroom for changing!" At this point i was really scared and terrified, because she was extremly agressive. From all the screaming the employee, who talked to me first had come into the room and witnessed the woman threa*ing me to sl*p me; a few seconds later the manager walked in. Both told me to go into the restroom for changing and the manager offered me to walk me to my car, so i can leave safely. Somehow the focus was more on me showering naked than the woman threa*ning me. I pointed out to the manager, that it would be at least fair, to tell the woman that it is not ok to thr*ten someone! I mean a female changing room should be a place where every woman can feel safe! So i went for changing into the restroom and she talked to the woman and walked me to my car. At the parking lot i told the manager that i am really afraid of that woman and very confused about the situation, because for me it is just the very normal thing to shower naked before and after going to a pool and something like this never happened to me before and California is the eighth state of the USA i am travelling through. She explained to me that it is not allowed to shower naked in a public pool in California, unless there is someting like a curtain etc. covering the shower area. I asked what they are going to do, because of the woman's behaviour and she said if that woman is threa*ning someone again, she is going to get a mark for her name. After this i was really convinced that people in California don't shower naked before and after using the pool and that this seems to be a cultural thing. Only two days later i met a woman, who happened to work as a lifeguard in California and i told her my story. She couldn't believe what had happened and that i was treated so badly! She actually let me know that it is indeed encouraged that people shower before and after using a public pool- for hygienic and health reasons. It is the duty of the pool to even point this out to the visitors and provide proper facilities, including a shower curtain or something similar. Also the employee and manager handled the situation very badly; in California it is considered a crime to threaten someone, even when that person doesn't physically harm the other one- so the employees should have called the police right away, especially when one of them witnessed the woman threatening me. I can just highly recommend to everybody to avoid this pool and drive a few extra miles, because there are plenty of pools around in the area. It is very alarming for me that i can obviously not feel safe in the female changing room of the Pawley Pool. This should be a safe environment for a woman everywhere!

The places you find when trying to explore different areas. Of all the times I've been to the…read moredesert, this was the first time here. Honestly never heard of this place until we were looking for something to do. It's just a couple miles from the main strip of 111. But tucked behind some of the beautiful gated communities, you end up here. We didn't know what to expect or how it would be. Thought it would be some park of sorts. Well... It is tucked with the mountains in the background which makes for a beautiful view. Hiking is not far from it and there's loads of beautiful homes in gated communities. We didn't know that camping was also offered here. It's a little drive up to the main gate which there's a fee for entering. The person working the station was gracious enough to let us in as we just wanted to check it out. First off, it's a man made lake. You enter the park area with parking both to the left and right side. There's plenty of spots in both of the parking lot. We went to the right which from the looks of the park, it is well maintained. There's a small little playground on one end, a pool area in the middle and a pickleball court and a basketball court to the other end. That's would be the main park area. If you continue to drive down toward the front, there's campsites. Areas with a grill, a spot for your car as well as water and electricity. Depending on what you need, the fee will be added. You could just camp as if without the electricity. Also the sites are pretty much next to each other. We drove to the other side where there's more campsite which this one is more primitive style. Bring everything yourself. The other side was more of a dirt lot. Not sure what it would be utilize for. Lake area does look man made and well maintained. Looking down it looked as it was like an amphitheater with the steeps leading down. We did find out that you can fish but no swimming or boating allowed. There's a fee if you wanted to fish. Basically a fee for everything. Overall, it's a decent park tucked away. Camping available but not the roughing kind. Small park area but does have a pool. It was pretty quiet when we arrived as it was hot. Would we pay to come in after we've seen this place, probably not. But at least we know what to expect incase we do happen to be back again.

The lake was very low and the water was not accessible except in a few areas. No dogs allowed in the water. It's definitely not a beautiful place but might be fun for groups and kids. The bathroom was really disgusting and It had not been cleaned in quite some time. Very disappointing. We hoped to possibly see some bighorn sheep but they have put up a fence so they can't get to the lake now.

There are three separate rooms with equipment for strength training, cardiovascular exercise, circuit training and a room for Zumba ($10 if your a hotel guest) and Spin classes (not sure the price). The cardio room has treadmills, elliptical machines & stationary bikes with a view of the outside pools. The machines are clean, new and very well maintained. There is a section next to it with free weights, two olympic benches, a smith machine and a curling bench. In the room across the way they have all the circuit training equipment which has about 15 stations for every part of your body including a stretch machine that I have never seen before lol. The staff is awesome and they greet you with a smile and help you with anything you need. They provide towels and direct you to your desired location after signing in. Flock Cameras everywhere…read more It's tougher and tougher to go to these parks with the city giving the oath keepers and sheriffs access to the cameras that point directly at the kids playground. The "remodel" was mostly to distract from the addition of the cameras. Cameras that's don't have rules or oversight. It's icky.

This was a big plus as I was a newbe and didn't know anyone. I really enjoyed with people on different skill levels. The park and lots of other activities going. Our daughter practices and plays soccer games here, and our son goes to school across the street, so he and his friends often come over after school to hang out, relax, and spend some time outside. It's the kind of park that really brings the community together. The park itself is spacious, clean, and very well maintained. There's a large playground that younger kids absolutely love, and it's big enough that it doesn't feel crowded even when a lot of families are there. The splash pad is another huge hit, especially during the warmer months. It's a great way for kids to cool off and have fun while parents relax nearby. There are also plenty of open grassy areas, which makes it perfect for sports practices, pickup games, or just letting kids run around and burn off some energy. The park has several shaded areas and spots with grills, which makes it a great place for family gatherings, birthday parties, or just a casual afternoon with friends. We've seen many families set up and spend hours here enjoying the space. What we also love is how active the park feels. There are always people walking, playing sports, or just enjoying the outdoors, which gives it a really welcoming community vibe. It's clearly a place that a lot of locals appreciate and use regularly. The only downside we've experienced is the parking situation. Because the park is across the street from the high school, the parking lot often gets filled up during school events or games, and it can sometimes be tough to find a spot. A little more dedicated parking for the park itself would definitely help. Aside from that, this park is a fantastic community space and one our family truly enjoys. It's a great place for kids, sports, and spending time outdoors, and we're really grateful to have such a nice park nearby.

If you check this club out, you'll want to play here…read more Whether you are lucky enough to be one of the 100 owners, a renter, an outside member or a guest, this is the place to play quality recreational (3.0 - 5.0) tennis while having a blast. Lots of parties, tournaments. This place is a gem! 50 of the hundred residential units have turned over in the past five years. New owners are primarily 50s tennis enthusiasts so the community and club is much younger than other Coachella Valley communities. They have a focus on tennis and do a good job getting people involved. Residents have access to the courts, but non-residents can also join the club and play tennis here. We have friends from Palm Desert who don't have tennis in their communities, and chose to join PDTC. One service that sets PDTC apart is that pros are available about every day, and help organize games for you. Tell Melanie your level and when you want to play and she can find you a game. "I'm in town and would like to play Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 9. I'm a 4.0 and would like to play men's doubles." You can probably get a pretty good game organized. After a few days you might be able to build up a network of local players at your level. There is also a group of advanced players 4.5 and up, which can be harder to find. They also have pickleball if you like that sort of thing. The homes are comfortable condos arranged in groups of 20 units surrounding a pool and hot tub. You're close to El Paseo and the dining and shopping options of Palm Desert so you have a good location going for you here also.
