I knew I needed the experience of this Hospital and these doctors. From my first call there the office staff guided me through the process, who I would see, and set my mind at ease. Five Stars are not sufficient to express my gratitude for the training, knowledge and compassion I was greeted with. My questions were answered, and I knew I had come to the right hospital for this very detailed dental procedure. I will never be able to thank my Doctor there completely for the time he gave me and all the staff with the assistance with the bill as well. All the treatment & plans of care were thought out and we are truly grateful that Dr. Zimels & Dr. Stramaglia kept Rusty comfortable during these difficult and challenging times. Rusty passed 3 weeks ago which was also carefully planned out and Dr. Stramaglia couldn't of been more supportive and compassionate with our choice to let Rusty go in peace. Brought my dog in to be neutered, but they didn't have a cone for him. Didn't seem to care-like couple of the other reviewers said, he was cold and unapologetic. Said to come back in 2 weeks they'd have right size cone for him. Did, but they didn't. Shocked. Happily I called Chewy and the agent was terrific-said since he was my service dog needed a flexible collar. She called several suppliers to see if they had right one. Spent 20 minutes helping-far more than the vet. The staff was nice, but left. Now have a great vet.

Here is my original review. _______________ Blue Cross animal hospital and specifically DR. Neil Wolff saved my dog's life. We live in NYC and would drive all the way to CT. twice a month for treatments. I had a pure blooded German Shepherd who had degenerative myelopathy. He became paralyzed at age 12. We carried him into the office and he walked out. It was due to electric acupuncture. Since dogs can not be psychosomatic I know it really worked. Dr. Wolff does not believe in putting animals to sleep for the sake of it. He said he did not become a vet to kill animals. He prescribed special vitamins and a special diet for Rocky. Also Rocky liked him. He was the only vet he ever liked and did not try to bite. I had Rocky since he was a year old ( I got him from a guard dog kennel) and we went through quite a few vets because Rocky was a trained attack dog and used to bite all of the vets and it usually took an entire group to muzzle him. He never had to be muzzled with DR. Wolff. He is a real life Dr. Doolittle. Rocky went to him for 4 years until his death at age 16.

Felt very welcome from the walking into the door until I left with my pup. My dog is a rescue so is very timid and has some anxiety, but all staff members were patient, helpful and kind. I also appreciate the evening hours as it allows me to work a full day and still come to the vet. Grooming service - the first visit was a bad experience for my dog as she was very shy and was clearly fearful and agitated. I got a call 45 min after dropping her off saying my dog couldn't get groomed that day. I went to pick her up and the staff had calmed my dog down and whatever scared her, was not an issue by the time I got there. They didn't charge a fee, and was willing to rebook another appointment! Second grooming visit went well and the style was exactly what I had wanted! I would definitely recommend the services here.

My cat's regular vet, Just Cats, turned me away due to overbooking, even when I told them she could not walk, and even when I said Dr. Gibbons gave me this cat almost 3 years ago that she personally rescued. My cat had a neurological condition. She stopped having seizures all the time I had her, so I weaned her off most of the meds, then this one horrific day she could no longer walk and was seizing. At Stamford Veterinary Center, the receptionist, and vet tech were so wonderful and caring. And Dr. Newton amazing. I had to put my sweetheart down, and they all made it so much more comfortable for us both. I have dogs as well. And I am going start bringing them there. I appreciate all they did for us both. I highly recommend this Veterinary Center.

As sad as it is, I am left with the memory of the kind and caring way I and my kitty were treated through the years and especially on this last day. Dr. Sam, Dr. Rebecca, and their staff made the hardest decision easier to take, and now for me to live with. Very compassionate people. For them, this is a calling. At 77, I think I may not rescue another kitty but If one should find me, as has often happenned in my life, I will continue to use Westport Animal Hospital to care for my rescue. One other thing, in all the times I have boarded my cat she has always come home completely healthy, with no coughs or other issues. I love the fact that this facility is in an old house with a porch and an upstairs which I believe someone lives in because the boarded animals are not alone after hours. De Shelley was a real professional explaining the procedure assuring us that Teddy would have no pain or discomfort. She understood the pain we were and anguish we were feeling and could not have been more helpful through to me, my wife and son. The man helping me had a different file and asked me if my birth year was correct, 1948.....he was about 40 years off. These are who are filling your prescriptions and making sure you're getting the right medicine. I called ahead for a transfer and when arrived 30 minutes later, they hadn't called the other pharmacy. The pharmacy is very disorganized. There's a really nice woman working there who seems to hold down the fort, but besides that it's a zoo. They were very nice which always makes it hard to review, but they've got to get it together to retain customers
