I had an appointment to have my wisdom tooth removed, but the experience was very disappointing. My appointment was rescheduled multiple times, which is frustrating since patients have jobs and responsibilities they must rearrange. On the day of the procedure, I was not given any clear instructions beforehand about whether or not I should eat. Because of that, I went without eating all day. When asked, I mentioned I had eaten earlier so it wouldn't become an issue, but I also explained that I truly hadn't eaten all day. Despite this, I was told the procedure could not be done. Clear communication is very important in dental care, especially for something as serious as wisdom tooth removal. Patients should not be left guessing about pre-procedure instructions. It's unfortunate that this lack of guidance and repeated rescheduling caused unnecessary stress and left me untreated. read more

This was the worse experience ever. During my first new patient appointment x-rays were taken. The doctor reported that I have a cavity in the back which was an outright lie. She then did a VISUAL of my teeth and gums saying, you take care of your gums. The gum's are at level 2 usually determined by probing. In dentistry, probing (or periodontal probing) is a key diagnostic step where a dentist or hygienist uses a thin, calibrated tool called a periodontal probe to measure the depth of the tiny spaces (periodontal pockets) between your teeth and gums. Healthy pockets are 1-3mm deep; deeper readings (4mm+) often signal gum inflammation or periodontal (gum) disease, helping dentists assess gum health, detect issues early, and create treatment plans. At my age a level 2 is impossible. I have had regular dental appointments at the VA hospital and typically in the far back for many at least one tooth probe reveals a least a 5 level probe due to difficulty in cleaning that far back. I decided to cancel with this dental group. I went to another dentist using my new Kaiser Plan, because it is closer than VA. The second doctor after x-rays told me I did not have a cavity at all. In a nutshell obviously Dr. Lavonne Sawyer, the dentist was attempting to get money for a cavity that did not exist. There are several negative reviews about her online so I made the right decision. I wonder if she is the same dentist, with same name arrested in Lodi, California for Meth in 2008? If so, this encounter would make sense. read more

This place does not learn anything nor do they care what we the patients experience here. If I could give zero stars, I would! I have wrote a review in the past and I never heard back from any manager or corporate office. Today I had an appointment for a filling, a gentleman I believe I over heard his name is Jose, took me to the back to prep me for my filling. I noticed the gentleman bringing the dental tools and some gauze and other things, I needed for my filling with NO GLOVES ON! he touched all my tools and Gauze with no gloves on! I kindly asked him aren't you supposed to be wearing gloves? His response was " I wash my hands every hour." He then stated that he would get new tools for me. At this point, I was not trusting him actually getting new tools. He came back with gloves and tools but only, because I noticed that he wasn't wearing gloves. The doctor came in, and I kindly asked her to please change out my tools, because i did not trust that he changed them. Dr. Was great and kind and did her job! Unfortunately, I was disappointed again, this was unsanitary, unprofessional and a reckless thing for him to do! As he can cause an infection in my mouth with touching my tools and his response was. "I wash my hands every hour" ! How do I know if he washing his hands every hour? I called the office immediately after I left to speak to the office manager to bring it to her attention. But the receptionist had stated that she was gone for the day. I hope this office gets its stuff together! read more

The office is useless, pulled out my teeth, then informed me the insurance company denied my denture partial after the teeth were removed. Do NOT trust them. The incompetent office staff, lie about everything. I was told in August they would file a appeal but never did. I will not recommend this horrible place. I went there for a crown and the male doctor and his incompetent assistant sent me home with horrible pain for the whole weekend. They left the crown too high and I was unable to sleep and the pain was even affecting my ear. I went back and the female dentist realized that they left the crown too high and she had to re-do the work and I had to endure more shots. Now the molar right below the tooth they initially left too high is broken. I went back just to see if they would at least take responsability for the damage their medical negligence and incompetecy caused but since I already used all my dental insurance benefits for this year, they wanted almost $700.00 for a crown for the broken molar. I know it long and I'm sorry but if I could give no stars I would give none. This is the worse dentist office I have ever been to. The only reason I am here and would ever have to come back is if my dentist doesn't have any other place to refer me to. This has absolutely nothing to do LeiLani nor the doctor but everything to do with the front office and assistant that called me to complete X-rays. Their customer service is horrible. From the moment I walked in no one acknowledged me at the front desk and when they did speak after I acknowledged them and introduced myself, they left me wondering what's next, leaving open ended statements for me to then ask questions for direction. When I was called back by their assistant, an older woman named Delmy, on sight she was rude and showed instant agitation. Maybe it was because I came casually dressed with cap or maybe because I am black (I hate to pull the race card but what else could it be....benefit of doubt, maybe she was having a bad day today). I had my two children with me whom instantly followed me as soon as she called my name and before I can tell them to go back and wait she goes off in a very rude and disrespectful manner. So, I stopped her and told her "let me tell them" in a very calm respectful tone. We go to the room she doesn't say much but tells me to take my hat off so I do. She starts doing X-rays and we get to the bottom left...the very uncomfortable one of them all; she put the tool in my mouth and tells me to bite down. I do but it was very uncomfortable and I couldn't hold it not even for a sec for her to get the x-ray. I inform her and she adjusted it but same thing. By the third attempt I try to explain to her where it's hurting and she then explains to me to relax my tongue and bite down slowly. We try again and I just couldn't, the tool was digging into my mouth....my tongue was relaxed (I am 36 and have been to the dentist many times, I do know the process). She flinches at me and looks at me with disgust as if it's my fault, starts to explain to me again what to do but she was overbearing and I didn't say anything until the tone of her voice and her overall demeanor was too much. She was irritated with me and clearly didn't want to assist or have anything to do me. I had to stop her and said, "wait, let's take a second and breath". She instantly stopped what she was doing and stormed out without a word. I sat for a second and got up and went to the front desk and ask for another assistant and stated I was not going to deal with someone being rude and disrespectful. They all looked confused for a second until LeiLani came out and said I got her. Once it was all said and done you would think the manager or professional running the office would have pulled me to the side or came to the room to check on me or mention something, anything. Nope, once the doctor and Leilani completed their job wonderfully with care and great customer service. I walked out without even a glance from anyone at the front desk. Never again! read more

I got referred over here for a root canal and after 4 months of going back and forth, they still haven't helped me. Charge me money ? Of Course ! Schedule me and make me request time off work ? Absolutely! Put me through emotional stress? Yup ! I went in for my 3rd rescheduled appointment and the person in the front didn't schedule me for the right procedure and then used the excuse that their internet was down as a reason to reschedule. This was 10 mins after they charged my card $100 because if you finance less than $100 the company charges the dentist so they make the patient cover those fees, WILD. The only reason this place is getting a star at all is because of the dentist. The first time my daughter saw him he was very gentle and very informative. Today was my second appointment there for my two year old... and I was extremely disappointed and extremely upset when I left. She originally went in for her initial visit last year, her 6 month appointment was supposed to be in December.... I received a call about 2 weeks before the appointment to let me know that the dentist was on vacation and they had to reschedule me... okay no big deal thanks for letting me know, they rescheduled me for January and surprise surprise I get another call telling me the pediatric dentist is not there on that specific day so they rescheduled me for today. Now if you've been to a dentist before you know they call email and text to confirm your appointment. So I received multiple reminder text about this appointment and confirmed every single time. I get to the office today only for them to tell me they don't see my daughter on the schedule at all. I showed the older lady in the front the confirmation text I received and the many before that... and she keeps doing some searching and she finally finds it, only to tell me oh well we called you to tell you that the insurance is not active and we had to remove her from the schedule I said no one called me or else I would have answered just like the million confirmations I DID reply to!!! I pull out the insurance cards and tell her here's the insurance card I just received these maybe something changed... she didn't even turn to look at me did not even acknowledge my cards she just straight kept typing away and turns around to tell me nope not active. At this point I had enough so I just said ok I'll pay cash what's the fee. She looked shocked! As if she thought I didn't have money or something she said $49 I answered okay. She told me to have a seat and she will talk to her manager because she didn't have my daughter on the schedule. When her boss finally calls me over she said the doctor can see you but not until 2pm. Excuse me! My appointment was at 1130am I'm here at 1115am! I took my lunch early and extended it so that I can respect your time and your doctors time so that myself and my daughter can be here on TIME! But where's your respect for my time!!! I got a two year old and a new born ready, got them in the car all to come to your crappy office with crappy patient care! There was no compassion and no understanding she just kept telling me your insurance is not active it's not active blah blah like girl I told you I would pay cash it's not an issue! I walked out to my car, got my kids in and I legit just started crying because I have never been treated so horribly! I felt like they just shunned away my daughter! I came home to call my insurance only to find out everything is active and my daughter is eligible for everything!!!! Man was I frustrated! I then called to switch her dentist and I never want to hear from these people again! I really hope when they go somewhere with their own kids they aren't treated this way because it was insane! I cracked my tooth at 3:30 on a Friday afternoon, after frantically calling around to multiple dental offices, I called Palmdale Dental Group and was told come on in. Not only did they see me on a emergency basis but they made me feel so comfortable (I get anxiety just thinking about the dentist)! I unfortunately had to have my tooth extracted but I felt comfortable with the dentist and will for sure be going back and also switch my husband to them!!! Need a root canal been in pain for over month waiting on my pre-approval from Health for all work that needs to be done. I applied for that credit care the part they said my insurance doesn't cover I got approved for my part in 3 mins. I had no idea that they actually paid $3,700. for services they had not and still haven't done until I got an email from the finance company saying my payment of $131. is now due! What in the hell!! Here I am in pain and having to make payments on something they never did or my credit will be screwed up. I thought they would get paid when services were rendered!! 2 under 2 mom here. Solo parenting most of the day. I drove 35 mins to get my appointment. I really like their pediatric dentist so I didn't want to switch to a dentist office closer to me. Well, right when I parked the office called me and told me they had to cancel my son's appointment because their system was down. I of course was frazzled. My son fell off his balance bike the night before and was complaining about tooth pain. I didn't want to wait for the next week to get him seen. Again, long story short, the receptionist worked it out so that my son could get a visual. (Which is basically what I wanted. I didn't think he needed an X-ray) The receptionist was very understanding and accommodating to our needs. The dental hygienist was upset and didn't believe my son would sit still in the dentist chair (I had to hold my baby because we were rushing and I forgot to grab the stroller). But the assistant was super nice to my son and made him feel very comfortable. My son did well. The doctor was nice and I appreciate him seeing my 2 year old even though it a was an inconvenience to them and didn't end up being an emergency. read more

First time coming here and as I walk in you see how clean and organized the place is, the ladies at the front desk are super kind and very helpful. Dr. Fernandez was awesome! Made me feel comfortable and was very informative on my X-rays, the assistant Jarita was my favorite, she was very talkative and had a way of making you feel relaxed and a sense of Its Ok and that was really important to me, we laughed and chit chatted a lot, she also gave me tips and suggestions on how to keep up the maintenance at home. Wow, the customer service at this place has changed dramatically.. Went back for a crown that they did that didn't even last me two years, so for starters, very faulty work. They then implied that it was my fault because I "probably grind my teeth" when I exercise. I have talked to many professionals in the industry that have told me a crown should last more than a year and a half. To conclude my visit, they had an unprofessional young girl that tried to break down how much new work would cost. She did not make sense at all and did not know what to say when I asked why it cost more than the original crown that they didn't do correctly. Even the dentist that evaluated the area said that they didn't put a post the first time and that's why it happened! Lol Luckily I do not live in the area and was only going there because I have family in the area. To sum it up, horrible company culture, poor dental work, and now I have a pending grievance with my insurance company. read more

I started bringing my daughter here and nothing but great experiences with getting her teeth worked. When i started experiencing tooth pain myself, i didn't hesitate one bit to contact Palmdale Dental to get checked out. With my first experience, being a tooth extraction due to it being comprimised by my wisdom tooth... it went fairly well no issues whatsoever. The following week i go in for my follow up to get my sutures removed and to get fillings done... to my surprise, it's a completely different doctor. They didn't really check out the location of my extraction and went to straight to work on my fillings. I went about my day, but started feeling sensitivity on one of my mollars that was worked on. Went in today, a week later after my fillings, to get my sensitivity checked out... the doctor that checked on me today was the same one that did the tooth extraction. Apparently they told me that he couldn't fix the issue, if any, cause he wasn't the doctor that performed the fillings, that i would have to see the same doctor again. All they did was give me a mouthguard full of fluoride that ended up making sick for the rest of the day. This makes it difficult for me cause i would have to miss work just to go to the dentist, when it would be more convenient if i can just get the work done on my days off... I guess i'll just have to find a dentist where i can get dental work done on my day off and it's not by different doctors every single visit. I have been loyal going there every 6 months for the last 7-8 years. I referred my friends and family to go there. But, in Aug 2019, I was told that my insurance wouldn't cover a surgical procedure I needed and wanted me to apply for Care Credit card. I was approved and then they charged me 1,800$ on the credit card and I found out l needed to come up with another 1,800. Long story short, I canceled my appointment. Now I have called repeatedly every week for them to refund the amount since I've been making monthly payments. I finally was able to talk to the manager and she said she would refund me the next day.
