A few days ago, my family and I were gathering together due to an event that happen in our family when one representative walk to my apartment in Virginia stating that they were a supplier of Washington Gas (my current supplier), promising that they work with them and they were trying to lower our bill due to an agreement with Washington gas. He tried to walk into my apartment and I asked him to stay at the door. This person asked us to see the back page of our bill. I worked in sales way too long already and I can recognize an scam right away. I asked him if he can email me the information and he said he couldn't. But no way can I miss this month's bill: $400.51 just for their charge alone: $0.16468339 per KWH. The going rate for this month is around $.08754. You do the math. I had agent, Come to me give me a fixed rate which I would never do variable as these other reviews had gotten.It actually did help my bill I was pure Comed. Customer. Here in Chicago Il. I had there promotion .067 for first month there after .097 which little high but, didn't make much difference in my bill as hardly use the electric anyways and everything In have is energy efficient and my place is rather small apt. All those review are before they had been regulated and sued from personally doing my own research and there verification process on the phone is very through they ask A LOT of questions to be sure you want the service. An obvious scam. Two young women came to my door while I was cooking dinner and told me they worked for my gas/electric company (which was the first red flag since those are two separate companies). After awkward small talk they tried to explain to me why they were here, that we are being charged out of state prices for our gas and electricity and they want to fix it, basically just nonsensical ramblings, probably hoping I would be confused and just give in. Then she told me she needed to see an old copy of a bill to confirm something. None of my bills are in my name so I got my roommate to help. My roommate came down and after some more awkward small talk (during which time one actually asked him, "so are you like, Chinese or something?" - he's Korean) they asked him for an old bill. Thankfully we pay everything online so he pulled it up on his phone (she couldn't see the actual bill). He gave his name and instead of writing it on the sheet she started writing in the margins of her paper (red flag #2). When she asked for the account number we asked her to clarify why she needed this information. She rambled again about how they needed to call in and make sure we were eligible. So we asked if we could just call ourselves and they said that no, they had to be the ones to do it, but gave no clear reason why (red flag 3). Well after that we mentioned we were hesitant to give personal account information to two people who knocked on our door, that we didn't know and weren't expecting. That's when they got mad (red flag 4). One of the woman was very defensive saying things like, "I know what I'm doing, I've had this job for years!" and "I just don't understand what the issue is!" The other woman said, "we call right here to verify so they know we aren't committing fraud." Not only does that not make any sense, my roommate and I never accused them of fraud, she brought that up herself (red flag 5). Well after that we flat out told them we are fine paying the current rate and to please leave our house. When they left, we Googled PALMco and found nothing but horror stories about being scammed. We went to our condo complex Facebook group for alert the others, but we were about an hour late: everyone else was already posting about how the scam artists had tried to rope them in too. First, they promised a lower rate than my electric and gas company offered, but actually doubled my bills. Second, when I called to cancel they hung up on me, so I called back. They said they canceled their services and it would take 1-2 cycles to drop off. That was 6 months ago. I called back after the second billing cycle and they lied to me saying my supplier wouldn't let them remove their services, so they were putting in the cancel request again. That was 4 months ago. I called again 2 months ago and they said they would be off my bill after last months bill, and they did credit me a bit for the delay. But here we are with them still appearing on my bill another month. They will lie to you and say they have canceled their services, but won't. They will lie and say they were denied to cancel. This SCAM company is all FINE PRINT and SUBTERFUGE. Consumers take the BAIT by letting in their friendly sales people who charm their way through your door and give you a song and dance about how they are going to save you money over the gas or electric company. They might do that for a short while but eventually they end up charging you MORE than the utility company does. It's very hard to cancel with them because they say they will but they don't or they tell you they will AFTER 2 MORE billing cycles. Another thing they do is tell you that you will be 'saving' 100's of $$ by signing on with them. But those 'savings' are in the form of BOGUS restaurant DOT com coupons. The problems with those are that if you get a $25 gift certificate, you need to spend $50 to redeem it. But that is just the TIP of the iceberg. Many of the restaurants listed DON'T actually use this service and there are innumerable complaints about it being BOGUS. Also, the APP one must download is some kind of spyware. I wanted to give one to my lawyer as a gift and he told me he would not download that APP because it had capacity to track, steal info and spam. They run more interference as to CONFUSE customers where on your bill that shows you your supplier, it does not say; 'PALMCO'. It says; 'INDRA' Indra is actually a trade name of Palmco. Basically, the operate on the principle of CONFUSING the consumer with misleading sales pitches, different names for the same company, a bunch of different phone numbers where you can never be too sure whether or not they cancelled your service when calling them to do so and legally absolving themselves for such via the fine print in the contract. The best way to get rid of them is to call the utility company and request to RETURN SERVICE to the utility company. I learned the hard way by first trying to call this scam company to cancel. So first thing to do is to call utility company, tell them you want to RETURN SERVICE to them and THEN call Palmco and/or Indra or what ever different names they use to inform them you have returned service. ALSO, don't ever let one of them see your electric (or gas) bill because it's possible for them to change you over to their service without your actually knowing about it. My elderly father was overcharged for almost a year. Nearly $1000. Apparently, he was signed up for gas at a rate of 0.53/therm, and gradually went up every bill, eventually went up to 1.79/therm, that is more than triple, when PSEG rate is 0.45. He wasn't even aware of the rate changed until he showed me the bills. Then switching back to PSEG took nearly 3 months, why? I don't know. When I called and asked why it's so high, no explanation. I am a customer of PALMco and have been robbed blind by them. In my latest bill they billed me five times the price I would have paid through PSE&G for Gas and three times the price I would have paid for Electric. Consequently, I ended up paying about $840 extra this month and looking back I see that they have over charged me by $250 for the past two months too. The first month I saved some money and then they started increasing prices. I called them and they told me that the rates are variable and this is what they are charging me. By far, the worst of the scums. Do yourself and your budget a favor and don't fall for the bait and switch low rate for the first month or two. What started off as a low rate in the beginning multiplied by 5 times in 4 months, the largest of the increase being a jump from.15/kw to .25/kw just within one month (Jan-Feb), while PECO's rate has been sitting at .08/kw. A review from someone who works in the energy trading industry: PALMco will send representatives door-to-door and via other marketing tactics to get you to sign up for their power and gas agreements. They will promise to save you money over PSE&G or your current utility provider: do NOT fall for that. PALMco essentially buys power/gas on the open market based on current power and gas rates. This can translate into modest savings during the modest temperature months of year, since Utility companies tend to offer flatter and less variable rates (less volatile prices). HOWEVER, during times like this past January/February with the incredibly cold weather we have experienced, PALMco charged my family (who should have spoken to me first) 500% more than an average Utility rate. Why?....because its a variable price system. Meaning that when power prices spike due to an increase in demand, they simply pass that cost onto the consumer. And what about when power prices are low in the Spring?....well, they pass on a portion of that savings onto you, but they still keep significant margins, significantly more than a Utility. I can say that the power/gas charges from PALMco in January/February cost more than double the 'savings' I received from them over the past year. For those who like numbers: Average utility rate in the NJ-area: $.08-$.10 kWh PALMco Charges for January: $.31/kWh It is not worth the risk using PALMco. Its like taking out an adjustable rate mortgage versus fixed....and we all now how that can end. You'll never know what your rate is, until its too late. read more

This company promises me a lower rate ($0.079) for my electricity compared to BGE ($0.094) only to find out that their rate is variable .Their rate has now increased to ($0.2478) which is almost 3 times more than what I would have been paying if I had stayed with BGE. This deserves ZERO stars! Absolutely disgusted with these criminals. I don't write reviews but reading everyone else's had me inclined to do so for the simple fact that I did NOT consent verbally or by signature to sign with Palmco. A representative came to my door and asked for my name, date of birth and talked about how Palmco offered competitive rates compared to my current electric and energy supplier (PEPCO). The representative asked me to sign their enrollment form and I declined, she then pushed and said that signing wouldn't obligate me to anything, that I can cancel at any time. Contrary to what she claimed, the actual enrollment form in small black letters specifically said that if I signed then I was obligated to agree to the terms and pay the variable fee that Palmco would be charging. I automatically knew something was fishy so I reiterated that I was NOT interested and that I wont sign. Fast forward a couple weeks, I received a letter in the mail from Palmco thanking me for enrolling and switching over to them. What?! So I immediately called them only to have an answering service tell me they were closed. I then called my utility company so I can cancel and find out why or how they would even authorize that. A PEPCO rep' told me that it did not show in her system that I was switched over or enrolled with anyone else. Another letter I received from my utility company (PEPCO) stated a confirmation of Electric Service Changes, that they were notified that I selected Palmco as my new electric supplier and that I would start receiving electricity through my new supplier (Palmco) on the 23rd of this month. I was livid, I then called Palmco to cancel the contract that I did not consent to in the first place, they immediately told me that cancelation would take 48 hours to process which would land on the 23rd day of this month and that I would still get billed for the month and that can cancel after that. BULLSH*T!!! The representative then told me that the only way they would've authorized my enrollment would be from my signature to transfer. I asked for a copy of this so called contract that I had supposedly signed, because I know I didn't. I then called my service provider PEPCO and spoke with the supervisor on how and why they authorized a switch over without my consent? That I had wanted them to cancel the contract, they explained they couldn't cancel the Palmco charges, that they dont give out consumer information. I call bullshit on that because 1.
